How to: Get notified the instant the Facebook app hits

So, I'm sick of having to check the market every five seconds, and figured it'd be nice to get notified via SMS..so I figured out a way to accomplish this.
I made a Yahoo Pipes(pipes.yahoo.com) feed that checks the latest app RSS feed from androlib.com and filters for "Facebook" in the title of an app. Then I'm having notify.me send me an sms(you can do email or IM, or all 3 if you'd like) everytime that feed is updated.
Only drawback is you'll get an SMS everytime any market app is introduced with the word "facebook" in the title, but I'm going to disable this ones the official app comes out anyways.

Just enter that in when it asks for you at add content, under add a feed manually.
Also, keep in mind, I haven't really tested any of this.

Haha... this is hilarious. Lets just hope they dont' name the app "omgfbook for realz" in the mark or you might be out of luck.

I've been thinking to do the same thing for Skype (not for the lite crap) and Fring, but I guess I'll just wait for them ;D

Pandora app

I haven't seen this talked about on here. Justin Angel has created a .xap that streams pandora and acutally works very well. The only thing it doesn't do is run in the background and show the now playing media on the lockscreen. If he could get that working, it would be amazing.

Ahh crap. When the screen goes off it kills the music too. Any tricks to keep that from happening?

Is he Willing to share the source code? ... oh and on a user note, he has his email and password for his Pandora account hard coded

It opens up the login screen and after that nothing happens. Anything Missed ?

Word is that he is working on an SDK for it. He tweets about it on his twitter account. I can't wait for this. It's been a long time coming.

Installed this on Mango and it opens to the screen were I insert my pandora credentials, then when hitting enter it kicks me out.... .Anyone else have this issue?

No. It will check to make sure you are not in a location that is "geo-fenced."

So very new to the whole wp7 thing. How does one download it? Says it is not supported file to download?

MetroRadio
MetroRadio was released on Market but then pulled after only 2 days. This was the first pandora 3rd party app that was built off Justin Angel's SDK (Provided here). I flashed a new rom and know can't find this xap anywhere. Does anyone know where to get it?

either link to your pictures if you have a dropbox link or simply upload them from the attachment paperclip

Use imgur app to upload, then add address in file attachments

if you want to do it from an app simply download tapatalk or xda and you can do it from there..

Notifications/Pop-Down

I just came from iPhone and used to the Notifications popping down whenever you get one.
On my Note though, if I"m watching youtube. I don't get any type of notification if I got an email or message. I have to pull down the top panel for me to see if anything.
Is there anyway to change it so it will go over whatever I'm doing/watching?
Also I watch twitch but I never get any notifications when someone I follow has started streaming, went into app info and Notification is on, but feel it doesn't do anything.
I did read before that the Andriod app isn't as good as the Iphone one before, so maybe that is just something not implemented.

For Notifications with fullscreen apps like YouTube, there are a few options. 1 download apps on the Google Play like Popup7 or some others, 2, Wait until some CM ROM comes out w ith features to allow you to do that. Or 3 wait until Android 5.0 Lollipop that comes with those features. As for you getting Notifications for Twitch, that has nothing to do with the notification app, You are supposed to get an email from twitch telling you someone is streaming, and from there you can open the twitch app. Sometimes twitch has a problem of sending emails to people when some is streaming because of server reasons I suppose.

[Q] Has anyone gotten an offer from Google for 1 free album out of a selection?

Last week just after waking up, I clicked on a banner on the play store that states that I can claim 1 album for free out of a selection. After hastily going through the list, I decided to have a listen on some of them on Spotify before I make my choice. The thing now is I just can't find that banner or any indication of where the list is now. I remember some of the albums and when I go to their page, I see a line which says "You can apply your music reward at checkout" right below the price.
Three of the albums are The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill, London Calling by The Clash and also Miles Davis' Kind of Cool. I've search through Google but I can't find anything on this. Has anyone got the same offer or does anyone have link to the list of albums on offer?

I have not seen this banner, but why do you care if you already use spotify premium?

I'm not using Spotify premium. Also I'm not letting go of a free album. [emoji16]

I see. Personally I'd go Miles Davis, but that's just me.

I haven't seen it, but I also have a Google Play Music Subscription so I don't need it.
