Need help, can't install custom roms. - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey there, I need some help with my N910T Note 4.
I have tried to install a few custom roms. So far here is how it's gone:
1st Rom, Tried to install Tekxodus' rom, used odin to go to stock dok2 -> cf autoroot -> twrp -> booted up twrp and tried to install the rom's .zip.. And bootloops. I try it multiple times, it goes smoothly until I go to boot and it always bootloops.
At this point I give up on this rom and go to try firekat:
Try to odin ank4: odin gives me "FAIL (AUTH)"
I google and find that I am stuck with lollipop roms? Alright well I'll try Rapture then: Try to update my baseband and bootloader using raptures tutorial and files -> Odin "FAIL (AUTH)"
So I thought maybe I should start from scratch, I try the stock dok2 baseband and bootloader.. "FAIL (AUTH)"
What in the hell do I do now? The only rom I can succsfully install is the stock dok2 rom.
Would greatly appreciate any help.
EDIT: Another note: If I odin stock dok2 and then odin cf autoroot, it also goes into bootloop.

After a few hours of messing around with my phone I finally got Tekxodus to work.
I think the problem was with my kernel, I was using the kernel from the Tekx thread, instead I used Freeza's Beastmode Rage kernel and it finally booted. Thank you Freeza, great kernel.
I am still confused about which roms I can or can't run now. The threads I've read are pretty vague, am I stuck on Lollipop roms permanently now? Which roms are available for me now?

Yep, once you went to dok2, you are stuck on lollipop. Might try poprocks as an option if you like TouchWiz based roms. Same dev as firekat. Can't suggest others though as i haven't tried any others besides CM 12.1.

Galaxy S wont boot

Hi guys,
i just got a Galaxy S (international, germany) and wanted to flash Clockwork Mod so i can flash a custom rom (miui). I got it with version 2.2 so i rooted it with z4root 1.3 and then tried RomManager to get CWM on it. But it did always reboot into Samsung stock recovery mode. So i tried this Odin3 1.7 and flashed a Kernel and got into a bootloop (First this one, then i used the one promoted in this video (YouTube Video, description XDA Thread with promoted Kernel. Phone now stuck at booting (isn`t even bootlooping, just stuck at the GALAXY S GT etc. logo. I still can reach the Download Mode.
Can anyone please help how to get at least the phone working again I`m really desperatly.
Greetings from Germany & Merry Christmas

Install a new Rom with odin will make your phone boot again.
2.2 is probably too old now.
Upgrade to Gingerbread Stock using Odin. Turn on Repartition and follow the instructions to flash.
Download a Custom Kernel for the Gingerbread firmware that you flashed. Every Kernel except the stock comes with CWM Recovery.
Copy the MIUI zip file to sdcard and flash it with recovery. It should boot right up.
If you are still having bootloops, try doing a factory reset and then boot MIUI.
Don't try things that you aren't experienced with.
Anyway, download odin 1.85, flash stock Froyo, launch Kies, update to official Gingerbread, launch Odin, flash Semaphore Kernel and GG.
Merry Christmas!
How can i flash Stock Froyo/Gingerbread trough Odin? Can`t find anything usefull @ google
btw i can reach Recovery Mode (CWM / Speedmonk something)
(Kinda experienced by flashing around with my N1 for around 2 years now, but never heard about this Odin Program)
thanks for help anyway

I am not going to help you with this one. You need to get comfortable with the forum and its contents first. Read all the guides and stickies before proceeding with Firmware flashing. There are many different types of firmwares with Bootloaders which are often dangerous to flash and few without bootloaders. Hence, first go through the guides and go with the flashing only when you are confident that you are doing everything in right order.

Just do what dhiru1602 says. after you flashed it with the latest Gingerbread ,
flash the cf-root kernel with odin . than download the latest galaxian/semaphore kernel, copy it to your internal sd-card and flash it with the app SGS Kernel Flasher . you can find that app on the market. good luck mate !
Thanks guys, u really saved christmas for me Just booted up the latest Miui Rom!
Happy Holidays

Simpilicity crashed, stuck at bootloop, nothing works

Hi everyone,
First time posting, I was on Simplicity rom 2.2.1, playing tiny tower while my alarms were going off. Next thing I know, the whole phone (GT-i9000) crashes and its stuck in an infinite bootloop. I can get into download mode easy enough and I tried flashing to a heap of stock roms: JVT, JVU, JVH and JVN. Nothing worked. I couldn't get into recovery mode, but after flashing the original CWM7 kernel I could.
Tried wiping everything in recovery, including dalvik cache, then flashing back to Simplicity in CWM. Again, nothing working, in fact nothing at all. Tried stock again, not working. Tried flashing some other kernels, didn't work either. Curiously I tried flashing darkys rom RE 10.5 in ODIN and it failed at repartitioning. Not sure if there's anything behind that. Anyway, I don't really know what to do next, so I'm here.
i tried without repartition with repartition etc and it would always fail.. but then i tried again put repartition set pit file and now..its flashing it! so trying more might help you. btw im using darky resurrection
That didn't work, it only lets me attempt one ODIN flash per entry into download, then I have to reset the phone to try again.
Make sure flashing a rom with bootloader.

I've always been cautious about bootloaders, I read somewhere that if you do it wrong it will completely brick your phone. Can you tell me how to do this safely?
you need to flash stock rom 2.1 with three parts and pit 512 and repartition checked, if didnt work try with out repatition
Can you provide a link for stock 2.1? I can't find one.
Found one with a bootloader, used ODIN, and it worked! Then went to stock JVU, updated to speedmod kernel (still working) but then I tried to update to SURFACE rom and I'm back to square one. Bootloops.
Tried more stocks roms with bootloaders, none of them working. I can get to recovery again if I flash CWM7 kernel like before.

Sorry when I say bootloaders I mean they are built into the rom. I never flash them separately. The above link is a great resource to firmware with bootloaders. The newest gingerbread firmware is JW6... Try that or one of the others. I'm currently on JW5, with semaphore 2.7.4 kernel and DMore 3.3 Rom, it's rock solid. Hope you get it sorted.

Yeah I found this thread earlier, I did flash with JW6, doesn't work.
So instead I just accidentally flashed a ROM for the Galaxy Tab, now my phone won't turn on at all, I'm afraid I just bricked it for reals. Can't enter download mode, completely dead boot.

[Q] Stuck in Bootling loop after installing ROM?

Hi all,,
Little bit worried here, I've just flashed RocketRom v7, and while everything was successful, I kept receiving reboots. It would go to the setup wizard, then after every page it would reboot, and now that I've managed to get into the homescreen, it reboots every 30 seconds now, not allowing me to connect to wifi or do ANYTHING :/
Any ideas?
I came from Rooted GB with Speedmod GB kernel.
Followed everything in this method: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BaWcZe51Ew&feature=plcp
Thanks!
Don't know what the cause of the problem is.
Flash stock gb rom with pc odin.
Do not select PIT or Bootloaders or repartition.
Flash normally. If it gets stuck in bootloop factory reset from the recovery.
Go back to stock lp3 GB rom via pc odin...root it and install cwm...flash redpill recovery..do all 3 wipes...and flash the rom..it should work..chk the videos in my sig for further assistance
Where can I find these Stock ROMs? I can only find the stock rooted ROMs, which don't seem to allow me to go past the green android at setup when flashing a rooted version of gb?

Its KL3....not LP3...
I ended up giving up and reverting back to stock 2.3.6 and flashed the Speedmod GB kernel ... all I wanted was RocketRom v7 working and I couldn't even get that done T_T
Thanks anyway

Help returning to stock

I rooted my phone successfully.
I installed a custom rom successfully.
I can still install custom roms via safestrap (The one I have can be installed).
BUT I cannot seem to flash the original ATT stock rom via odin or safestrap, for some reason. Ideas? I tried downloading the stock rom multiple times from different sources.

I think you can apply your files to the methods shortydoggg explains and you should get the same results.

boot loop when flashing TouchWiz based ROMs

Hi,
I successfully installed CM12 and running with it for few weeks.
It became a bit unstable for my taste and I'm trying to install the TouchWiz based ROM (Rapture).
I tried bunch of ROM's and could only install the CM12 based ROMS(cm12, Remix) .
All the rest are taking me into boot loop.
I imagine it has to do with the wrong firmware but not sure which firmware I need and can I install it using TWRP.
Thanks a lot for the help!

You need to odin flash the latest official stock COD6 firmware for Note 4 N910T which can be
found and downloaded from http://Sammobile.com
After odin flashing you will need to root the phone with cf-autoroot and odin flash twrp recovery.
Here is a download link which contains odin, twrp and cf-autoroot for the N910T Note 4.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/i25yjb1o97o96nb/CF-Autoroot & TWRP v2.8.6.0 and ODIN3 v3.10.0.zip?dl=0
Unzip the this zip file into an empty folder on your desktop.
Once you have successfully odin flashed the firmware, cf-autoroot and twrp you will be able to
flash any custom touchwiz rom created for the Note 4 N910T device without any further issues.
Good luck, have a great day!
