Samsung probably build the device using Nokia's 3310 remains. I'm not even joking but that thing refuses to break down! My cousin is known to shatter his phone screen but his Note 3 is so far safe. ??

Lol yes, I had to use the 3310 for a day after my S3's battery died halfway across the country on a sunday. It worked fine for the way it was intended, but I had to check the train times on the internet... Needless to say that didn't go so well

Its really weird how the technology has advanced but we are still really not advancing in terms of battery life. They should focus on greater battery life than having ridiculous amounts of power!

Oh, no, I meant it literally died. As in, needed to be replaced. But all the shops are closed on a sunday.
Battery life actually seems to be decreasing, with companies using smaller batteries than a few years ago. Really makes no sense whatsoever... My Note 3 does about 22 days in deep sleep, and has an average screen-on time of 12 hours. My tablet recently managed to drop to 35% after 51 days. Newer devices are lucky if they even manage to make it to the end of the day.

Goodbye

After 14+ long months, I am finally leaving the Evo and Android for good. I gave it two shots (G1 and Evo), and both times it was underwhelming. I actually preferred the experience I had with the G1 than I did with the Evo.
I'll be picking up my iPhone tomorrow morning once I get out of class.

You guys are insane someone can't say they're leaving for an iphone because they're automatically flamed and obviously stupid. I like android but I prefer ios. Yet I'm still here. Android just seems to be all over the place and all unorganized right now. It seems like I get a new phone and the week after that a new much better phone is released and our is outdated. There's also the issue where some apps don't work on some phones because of the hardware or some other bull excuse like they did with netflix. We get dumbed down apps all the time. Like they don't even care about us android users. I still love android I just wish it was better.

Your comparing software to hardware. Android ****s on ios? Is that what you mean?
If I had to weigh in I would say that neither is better, tho ios even tho stole the notification system, implemented it better then android. That's neither here nor there. I say they each offer a different user experience, yes you can get great battery life, after an android phone gets rooted and modified. Tho I have yet to be able to watch looped video on my evo for 7 hours straight...
I think the main difference is the app store, android users are cheap as ****. They will use warez, they will not donate(I'm speaking generally). So better support and better apps make their way to ios first. Yes we have the same apps on android but android fragmented system is ****ed up. I love android, but reguardless how you look at it. They are different. Really don't think people should get all pissy about it. Crazy how some people act towards another human just because they like a different phone. I think our priorities are messed up.

How'd ya get them to do it?

So I've been working at it for a while, and I've finally got half of my immediate family's phones rooted.
To get my brother to do it, he wanted an app to work and he wanted his Optimus V to stop crashing. Sold on root and later ICS/CWM.
I told my dad about Titanium Backup and how easy it was to root the Motorola Triumph and he was sold. And now working on getting him to agree to his Evo V 4G. (although it probably won't happen)
Mom has a dumphone.
And once I unbrick my Samsung Epic 4G, I'll root it and give it to my sister. (Heh heh heh, technically cheating, but who cares.)
So my question is, how did you get your family members and friends to let you root and screw around with their stuff?
I mean, ahem, make it better?
I didnt tell my brother i rooted and flashed a custom rom on his phone. He has never been happier with the sudden unexplained increase in performance lol.
Told my sister it would make it better

Hi,
Your LG nexus is fine. The internal hardware is built to resist water and a few other dust particles. The flickering you experienced was only because the water was in the way. However keep your phone away from fire, oil based lotions and dropping. Enjoy your Nexus.

I think they knew I was a bit of an Android nut. No laptop for 5 days though. Brand new screen though
Sent from the iron man themed phone. (thanks XDA Premium)
i think the representatives didn't wanted to take a pic with you and the xda mark , cuz they knew that almost all xda devs are working on android and not ios and they are a little jealous
if i was you , i would wear a t-shirt saying "android user/lover" or something like that and asking an apple guy around to take a shot with me , i would pay to see his reaction
anyway all my respects for you doing your action showing the love we all share for xda
p.s : you were a little shy with that phone showing xda mark
I was a little shy, yes. Haha. Felt strange

No but I messed around with there new £1000 chrome book. It's just a Google store inside a massive PC world store here. Lovely laptop but no way worth £1000 for the touch screen laptop. Also it's the highest resolution laptop screen on the market.

Hope that their chromebook or whatever they call those laptops to be cheap in price
Cuz if it will cost 800 bucks then I won't even look at the product
