RAW (DNG) photo capture on Mi Note? - Xiaomi Mi Note Pro
Hi, is anyone able to confirm if the Mi Note (I don't believe the Mi Note pro works) can capture RAW/DNG images with a camera app mi2raw? Also - does anyone have a list of Xiaomi cameras that can take RAW photos?

I can confirm you both: I have asked twice on the global site and their was nobody working RAW on the Mi Note Pro whereas some people had it work on the Mi Note (and other Xiaomi devices). I am 100% sure about it cause I have been waiting since my Nexus 5 which I selled before it got Lollipop and then I had a G3 cat6 that never got it.
BUT since a few days kernel source have gone out for the Mi Note Pro which means their are chances someone has RAW compatibility working on it.
Thanks for that. If someone, who has used this new Mi Note Pro kernel, can confirm it works with raw photo capture, that'll be great. More people are selling the Pro, so it would be easier to find, but I only want one that takes RAWs.

I've got a Mi Note, and upgraded it to Marshmallow Android 6. Mi2raw doesn't work ( or any apps using camera2.API).
Which ROM was anyone using, who did have mi2raw working? Apparently it's tricky to downgrade from Marshmallow to KitKat, as Marshmallow has merged the partitions, and it will involve flashing custom recovery which breaks OTA update capabilities for ever.

Does mi2raw require root? My ROM isn't rooted. Rooting means installing a custom recovery, which will break OTA updates, so not sure if it's worth the risk...

I can fix the crash by clearing data from the app, but if it's possible to prevent the crashes that'll be great, thanks.
Was the DNG file OK?
I can process the DNG files in Lightroom Mobile, and Photo Mate R3 can also process the DNG files you are creating with freedcam. Thanks for the work so far, a great app !)

Advance Camera Mod What is RAW image ? A camera raw image file contains minimally processed data from the image sensor of either a digital camera, image scanner, or motion picture film scanner. Raw files are named so because they are not yet processed and therefore are not ready to be printed or edited with a bitmap graphics editor. Raw is unsupported at the moment but further tests will be done. Currently the moded libs allow for freedcam to access Qualcomm parameters instead of the basic android stuff the stock lib returns Such as the ability to turn off noise reduction , exposure metering mode sharpness ,saturation ,brightness. Reason for no raw Motorola butchered the picture format string so it only displays JPEG in a later build will attempt to hardcode the values instead of reading it from the camera and see if raw image can be retuned . If you have moto device not Osprey or Merlin ie xplay you will need to post hal lib to get patched located at /system/lib/hw/camera.msm****.so if on cm then camera.vendor.****.so

You can backup the current apk and then install new versions of them to update the features.

I am using the Dr. Ketan M6 and he did restrict users from modifying the zip. So respecting his condition and his efforts I did not modify the zip file . A great thanks to all the Developers who work so hard to bring such great functionalities to our devices !

Thanks for the port. Works in dr ketan rom, just follow op instructions. Some feedback from me. Slow motion doesn't work, selfie camera modes doesn't works, low light photos have more noise than the stock camera (tried it in same conditions). On the other hand double tap home button to open works pretty fast! Open Gallery through camera to see the photo you shoot has no lag at all..!photos at night with flash, day photos and video (60fps etc) works like stock. So for 90 % of the shots i prefer th s7 camera due to the speed! And something i forgot hdr doesn't work.

I think we need the camera and the complete NeoVision set from this ROM, Z17(NX563J)5.18.9.14 http://ui.nubia.cn/rom/detail/42?toBrowser. To make it work properly whithout crashing I think somtething more than than just extracting the camera app is needed. Need the gallery and maybe the nubia account app as well as all those are intermingled with each other. I just don't know exactly how to do all this. Is there someone over here skilled enough to do this?

I recently installed mokee 8.1 on my Nubia Z17S (called also Archos Diamond Omega in France) and everything is perfect... excepted the "by default" Mokee camera software. I think that the dual camera is not used by the current Mokee application and this is why I would like to install the original Z17S nubia softaware you have ported to Z17. Google Camera port for Mi A2
Any developer here,please port google new camera apk for mi a2 device.i have been waiting since the mobile launch for google camera but without camera 2 api enabled google camera doesn't work on my mi a2. i dont want to root my device that's why i am making this thread so any devloper could help me!! . .please port google pixel 2/3 Xl camera app to mi a2. There is no developer in the world that can develop gcam mod without camera2 api enabled on any phone. Developer can make some gcam mod stable for daily use on specific mobile phones, but it cannot do what you ask or think. You (we) need to: 1. ask or pray for Xiaomi to enable camera2 by default, and then 2. wait for some good heart developer to make a stable (v6) gcam mod for our phone.

I could not believe the same phone took both pictures. This has totally changed my perception of Camera Software. I wish I had this port in my recent vacations. Though, I have a custom Pixel 3XL ROM, TWRP with Camera2API Level 3 Support on Mi A2. However, my next phone will be the one that has native support for Camera2API.
