Hello,
I have FW V10.14.1.47, when i go to Settings -> About -> Update there is repeatedly notice "Server is unavailable..".
If i sniff network on my router (tablet in standby), i see it still try connect to fota.asus.com (4 times per second), same after restart.
Does anyone have same issue?
Thanks
Beam
I have this issue since about 10 days or so - I had to install the .47 update manually.
Have you got same issue on .47 too?
It's quite big issue, it make almost 400MB on traffic daily and some battery drain.
i installed all updates manually.
but it never said "service unavailable", only that there is no update (even if there had been).

wow, same here in Germany. My first OTA update xD
yay, finally battery percentage, i really missed that.
Just received it here in Holland.
And yes it is 4.3 and it has a changed bootscreen :good:

i think its not a full Firmware. It only has about 200MB instead of the usual 900MB, so its questionable if they will even upload it and put it into the download section of asus support page.

I edited my post because it worked shortly after I wrote the post.
But it is the upgrade to 4.3 and it has the percentage option for the battery status.
Ah,nice. so its a really fresh release.
I did notice that slightly changed bootscreen aswell.
Hope this update fixes my random reboots
No love here in the US.
Transformer TF701t / XDA Premium HD
Did the 4.3 help smooth out transition from portrait to landscape and opening apps, or even help increase FPS on some HD games?
It won't be released in the USA until November 18th..

Did not expect it already, but it was available today.
Looks to have installed normal. Cannot notice more speed as it was perfect already. Noticed that the mirror of the cars in Real Racing 3 are not working again. Was just glad seeing that the TF701T was showing them comparing to the TF700T, but that positive note is gone now.
The rest is all positive still.

My N4 is from Singapore and I updated it to Lollipop 5.0.1 due to OTA update that was always in my face. Since then, the phone experiences lags and stutters a lot to the point where it will be unresponsive for 5 seconds and above.
also, i have very terrible data connection. sometimes the data arrows move but my app does not load. chrome also lags and hangs intermittently.
i have reformatted and cleared cache via recovery. any ideas what i can do to help fix the phone? I am running stock unrooted Note 4. any help will be greatly appreciated.
p.s. I prefer not to root at this point as I want to be able to keep my warranty status intact. Plus xposed on lollipop doesnt seem to have much apps for me so sticking to stock unrooted.
I've been having this problem too, tried custom ROMs and tweaks, things improved but not that much

I flashed Kitkat back after Lollipop 5.0.1
I decide that I will not update my Note 4 any more ........... unless one day .......... there will be a better stable firmware.
I don't care about Lollipop .............. Lollipop is the most faulty Android version ............ keep away from Lollipop
Maybe we should wait for Android M in 2016

Same here! I brought the phone in for service and hoping it will magically come back with 5.1.1 fixing all these stupid bugs. Dont know why did Samsung ruin the perfect N910G! Sigh.

ive never had any stutterings or lags whatsoever..im stock
I tried package disabler (yes, I know it costs money), disabled around 40 (non-essential) packages and my note is as smooth as when I first bought it on KitKat.

Please could you export and post this list of packages that you have disabled? I didn't know Package Disabler was a thing - sounds like exactly what I'm after!
Would also love to have that list !!!

Nope, seems to be yet another placebo fix.
Same for my N916S, the stutters and delays annoy me so much, hard to believe it's a stock rom, it probably happens to S5 5.0 as well
But unfortunately, no kitkat for me, my variant is shipped with lollipop out of the box, sign
Factory reset always helps after an OTA update. I had N910F, the European version snapdragon and just few weeks ago replaced it with N910C, UAE version which has exynos chips. I find N910C lags way less. Infact, no lag at all. It came with lollipop installed then I flashed stock Poland firmware as they had the latest.
Everything is working great! Using Google launcher. Hate Samsung's folders and I find Google now one swipe away much more convenient.

I was checking for software updates today and I saw this update. I applied the update and now my softkeys (onscreen back button and app manager) is no longer lighting up. I don't see anyone having the same issue after the upgrade...
Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? I don't understand how that can just disappear after an update.

So... how serious is that? I assume we could still downgrade via ODIN or install a custom ROM through TWRP?
Thanks
Anyone flash this modem on the AOE4 boot loader/DOH6 firmware and get it to work?
So if I'm on a custrom ROM with a custom kernel using TWRP, can I just ODIN the modem and bootloader and be OK?
cell stand by bug is fixed i believe:good:
AT&T's update text has something along the lines of fixing security issues and performance issues.
I'm not sure if there's anything else to it.
If someone has more info on this, that'd be great.
Already updated since I'm not on a firmware that'd support it anyways.
just updated to that version and so far i feel like the little stutters a not as bad now when scrolling. i also have the samsung package app disabler from google play store that helps save memory for non rooted phones. update was about 100mb over wifi and i needed to have an active sim card for the file to push over.
I installed the update on my S6 Edge and one thing I noticed that's missing is the battery optimization feature that Samsung built which is similar to the upcoming Doze/App Standby feature. It was released in this update on the t-mobile and international versions but I don't see it anywhere on the AT&T version. I'm not sure why they removed a feature that can greatly improve battery life but that's AT&T for you. I also don't see Wifi calling in this update. It appears to basically just be bug fixes, security updates and VoLTE improvements with HD Video and ability to send larger videos over SMS.
My phone auto-updated without my permission today. I was holding off on the 5.1.1 update, let alone the baseband update. The device management alert came up earlier in the day, but I told it to remind me later. Instead of doing that, though, it looks like it decided to do the update. WTF AT&T?!

Do you know what size of video we are supposed to be able to send? I tried on my S6 to send a video to my wife and the default messenger app still shrunk it down to 692K. Garbled garbage still at that compression.

I'm just glad it didn't fix the bugs I've had since updating to 5.1.1 and losing root. I really want to keep those as long as possible. #sarcasm #whydidntibuyinternationalversion
The battery life is definitely much better in terms of standby time. It's a night and day difference for me. Looks like we did get the battery optimization. It just doesn't show up in the settings like on other versions.
I guess all we can do, is hope that the update to OJ7 has created security hole(s) and will allow our wonderful XDA developers an opportunity to utilize it/them to gain root again. I know it sounds like a pipe dream but its no more or less what we have currently, on OI2.
I'm actually having worse battery life after the update than before, I just wiped my cache yesterday so I'll report back later but I find that even with Enhanced LTE disabled my battery is draining a lot more. I'll give it a few days though and see how it is now......my biggest issue is I find that my app usage is quite a bit higher than before and my cell standby in gsam is higher as well though it no longer appears in the lollipop battery stats.
a link to download the new OTA?
I'm on stock and tried the update 2x and both failed at 30%?
Edit: Did a factory reset and the OTA still fails.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
Battery is alright on OJ7. Slightly worse than OCE but its not bad.
I did a cache wipe and that seems to have fixed the drain i was having. I'm trying out VoLTE again to see if that's any better now. Overall I'd say the battery life is similar to the previous build. I do have an odd issue today, at about 100 hrs uptime and my LTE keeps showing up while on Wifi for several minutes, then it goes away and then a few minutes later it reappears. This was before I turned back on VoLTE. I did try toggling airplane mode but that didn't resolve it. I do see there is a new build series that is OK# starting to rollout so probably some bug fixes there if we see it, who knows if we'll get that or if AT&T will have us wait for 6.0.
Can anyone please get the files for the update so that those of us that cannot OTA can update via ODIN.

Anyone else receive this OTA this morning? I didn't see, or look for, a detailed change log before proceeding with the OTA push. Phone rebooted and is optimizing apps right now. I'll provide further details once it finishes.
I know, for sure, that I checked for new software within the past week or so and there was nothing available. I've been up to date with OTA upgrades since getting this phone on day one of its release.
Anyone know anything about this upgrade?

Probably just updating security mostly since we were a few months behind. Could also be preparing our phones to take take 6.0 update since there's usually a small update before a big one. Wouldn't hold my breath on it though

Don't try to apply this update if you've applied one of the leaked insecure boot images (for getting a root prompt). There's a check of the boot image built into the updater and if you attempt installation it will wipe your phone back to stock.
D**k move Samsung, d***k move.
I was a fool to initially think that the update juuuuuust might be Marshmallow. And then I thought, "I have AT&T. They would've made the announcement before just releasing the OTA. Hell, they would've made a big deal out of it, even; as if they're doing us a favor. " And so, I took a Valium and went to sleep.
This update seems to break mms for many of the users myself included verified with AT&T that is indeed related to it Samsung is on process of updating. Anyway if you happen to get it just boot your phone to safe mode and then use mms there and restart back to normal, it works after . And hopefully marshmallow will be soon

I'm still getting MMS texts, what was broken?
So far I've noticed my battery life is better than it was before, on the OJ7 update i had a very odd drain as well as issues with my bluetooth and wifi that were only fixed with a reboot......so far knock on wood they seem to be resolved but it should take a few more days to fully confirm. I did also try Enhanced LTE again and just as before I had a nice drain on my battery so they still don't have that working great yet (my area has weak LTE and switches between LTE and 4G on a normal basis).
