So I've tested twice and every time I uninstall Xposed framework my phone gets snappier. This is even with the write protection bypass. Anyone else notice this?

Hmmm.... I've never noticed a difference. It's been pretty straight across the board.
This phone is always crazy fast for me, faster than my HTC One oddly enough.
No issue but I did the old fashion way of rooting this beast , I think either a clean install is needed or there's bugs that still need to be ironed out with jcase's root method

Maybe it's a non unlocked bootloader thing? Or maybe a specific module. I was using gravity box and Moto Xposed.

Both me and my coworker noticed increased lag and worse battery with Xposed installed on our Moto X's. It's good, but for my priorities it's not optimal.

Oh wow...I didn't know it was that simple. To clarify, I just have to unlock the bootloader via Motorola's official website, flash either TWRP or CWM and flash the latest SuperSU?
In that exact order?
And you get write to system privileges? That actually seems easier to me than rebooting back and forth between recovery and normal for write permissions.

I actually haven't rooted yet. Your method just seems like less of a pain but yea, the warranty thing sucks. I'm still hoping someone comes up with an unofficial way to unlock the bootloader for the Sprint version.

Definitely seeing lag with Xposed. I ended up uninstalling it, too. Some of those tweaks were nice, though...hopefully it will get better and I can reinstall it at some point.
This may be a dumb question... How do you go about uninstalling xposed framework? Would it be just by uninstalling the app, or via some other way?

i have a Moto X with 4.4 update. this morning i've tried to switch to ART but i've seen i can't use whatsapp.
- are there any chances to use whatsapp with ART WITHOUT root on 4.4 stock?
- if i decide to root (downgrading to 4.2.2 with camera update, and then rooting 4.4), is then possible return completely stock?
can i follow this guide? my AT&T version can't unlock bootloader and i read commands as flash recovery.img ecc., is it possible?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2446515
- can i receive OTA update with 4.4 rooted or i have to return every time stock and then upgrade my firmware? (because of locked bootloader)
thanks
from what i have read if you decide to root 4.4 you can allways re-downgrade back to 4.2 camera update and flash the 4.4 OTA. and be completly stock
thank you, i'm going to try the complete procedure now
let you know
ok, rooted successfully.
2 questions:
- AOSP browser doesn't work on 4.4, my issue?
-how can i change strenght and power of vibration?

The below information is obsolete. Please use the official obake version of CM12 for support on 2013 Droid devices.
A small patch I put together to make the new CM11 Ghost builds work (kinda) on the 2013 Droid Ultra series phones (Mini, Ultra, Maxx). It may also work for other Ghost based ROMs, but I haven't tested this.
So far, it's been lightly tested on the Droid Ultra M (Mini), and Droid Ultra Maxx. No guarantees, but it's been working okay so far for me.
Thanks to @an21281 for testing, and @mainbord for the original Droid Mini bins. Thanks also to the CM team for supporting us without even knowing it. =)
YOU ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL RISKS BY CHOOSING TO USE THIS PATCH
- If it breaks your phone, you get to keep both halves. If it eats your data, not my problem. Etc, etc.
- If you are lazy or like to take shortcuts, definitely don't use this.
Requirements:
- Unlocked bootloader. Phone should be on newest stock bootloader, radio, etc. (4.4.4 currently)
- Philz recovery for ghost: https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/ghost/
- CM11 Ghost: CM11 Ghost
- GApps. I use the PA Nano package: PA Gapps
Instructions:
- Boot to recovery, and wipe data and cache.
- Install CM11 Ghost, then GApps, then the patch
Notes:
- This is done in my free time, and isn't something I plan on supporting. If I have time, I may make updates.
- I'm not actually using CM11 on my phone at the moment, so can't test things currently.
- TWRP for ghost doesn't set the right properties. Go bug them.
- The huge "full" GApps packages can fill up /system and break ****.
Changelog:
0.6 - 4.4 bins
0.8 - 4.4.4 bins

Thank you so much!!
Man, i kept trying to figure out how to rewrite the build.prop and change the binaries to be able to flash the ones that switched to the ghost source. I really, really, appreciate this patch. Maybe with the present state of BL unlock and the super cheap price on the maxx we will actually (for once) see a large amount of development for the msm8960dt branch and not just be limited to the ghost builds. thank you for this, again.
Thanks for taking the time to make this patch, everything has been working perfectly so far!

Glad to hear it's working for you.
At least as far as the Maxx goes, all the heavy lifting was done by the CM11 folks.
The patch for the maxx is one binary file for the button lights, two simple configs, and a few lines in build.prop.
I'll be curious if the patch works for the plain Ultra.

Droid mini CM, keys and sound works!
This patch is going to be very useful if Lollipop is going to integrate the best of Motorola. This means I'll be able to flash CM ghost and still have native active display or whatever it is called in the Nexus 6. At that point, the customs ROMs will actually be relevant to the Moto X and Droid Maxx.

Your English is fine. Thanks for the warning about that build date.
So when CM has a lollipop build (CM12?), we might be able to use this patch and have the Google version of Active (Ambient) Display? The only thing that keeps me from running CM is lack of a smooth working Active Display. This would be great news!

I asked the mods to clean up the off topic posts. The posts removed were requests for information either already contained in the first post, or easily found with a quick Google search. Unfortunately, these sorts of posts contribute nothing to the discussion, and make it hard for readers to find actual data when/if they have problems.
That said, I'm glad people were able to help you out. Have you had any luck getting it working?

I just needed some free time to do it properly. Making an international gsm firmware work fully on Verizon is a pain in the you-know-what.
I also had the motivation of wanting to fully port the G3 camera driver which I never got around to with the initial G3 port I did with Cloudy and Tangjun. I'm happy to say it was worth it. Hope you enjoy it.

Coming from CloudyG3 with TWRP 2.7.0.0 can i just perform all the steps above or would it be better to restore to stock 26a first? Wipe system? Last time I went from CloudyG3 back to stock I lost knock on and had to restore it using your hiddenmenu apk. Any idea if I can expect something similar? Willing to be a bit of a guinea pig if you think I'll have a better than not chance for success.

No need to...just follow the install directions above. The only reason you (or anyone) ever lost knock-on is because they had flashed a kernel (if it's included with the rom it's the same thing) that enabled knock code and consequently updated the touchscreen firmware. Knock code also has a framework component that LG/Verizon for whatever reason never included in their firmware...so when you came back to a vs980 stock rom you also lost knock-on due to the newer firmware not being compatible with that firmware. It's a simple as that. All that has EVER been needed to restore it is a simple 10 second procedure.
This firmware package DOES have framework support for knock-on, so I built my kernel to use it. If you switch back to a VS980 Stock rom after this, you'll need to do the touchfw update in one of the 4 different ways that have been detailed.

The bootstack is the same one I had posted for my 26A rom. I didn't/don't want to confuse people with having more than one bootstack zip for now while everyone transitions from loki to bump. That said, if you had just continued on to install the rom you would've noticed that the firmware zip installs the new/bumped 2.8.1.2. Just follow the steps and you'll be fine.

Yes, I installed xposed framework and rootcloak to get it to work. Also, if you are running ART you need to disable before trying to get xposed to work.
I'm so psyched this is finally coming out, I'd given up on ever seeing this ROM come out a few months ago and have been putting up with the roaming bug on CloudyG3 ever since. So glad I don't have to deal with that crap now. Thanks man.
