just ran a data check on at&t (*3282#) the "ussd code running" thing stayed on the screen but I got the response. So the code worked but the dialer was kinda buggy.

@StykerB
Same exact problem. Has your android N already received the first software update?

There is no update for the N6. Only Nexus 6p, 5x and 9 have received a second OTA on N. Fixes mainly performance issues. I guess the N6 being a discontinued device isn't a priority...

The N6 hasn`t discontinued yet untill late 2017, besides that the Pixel C hasn`t gotten the update either.

Just because an update might be rolling out for one particular device it doesn't necessarily mean all the Nexus hardware will be getting said update, so keep that in mind.
I haven't seen any mention of 4.2.2 recently, guess it'll happen soon enough (unless some people are trolling Reddit which is pretty common these days as the site gets more popular every minute).

End of tegra characteristic UI lag as we know it? I hope so
I wonder what's taking google too long to roll out 4.4
was using a galaxy tab 2 10.1 and found it silly slow compared to the nexus 7, tegra 3 is considerably faster. and with the new update hopefully it will become even more efficient.
Any news yet about google implementing this new 3.4.35 kernel in the 4.4 update?
any possibilty google itself will release 4.4 kitkat for our nexus 7 with 3.4 kernel updated?
Hope 4.4 will come with the new 3.4 kernel

Switching runtime between Dalvik and ART

I read about the inclusion of the new ART runtime in 4.4, so I went into my Nexus 5 and enabled the setting. First reboot is supposed to take longer as the apps are prepared.

Unfortunately, my Nexus 5 did not recover from this and was stuck in a boot loop. Logcat showed a bunch of mm-camera errors.
I don't know how to switch the runtime back to dalvik. I can see the phone is loading libart.so, and if I could switch back to livdvm.so it might recover.
If anyone knows how to do this, it might be helpful to others.
I'm just going to restore the factory image to get the phone back.

I was wondering about that. I doubt many people will find this setting without explicitly looking for it. It's under developer options, so I thought it was more of a developer topic.

I flicked the switch to ART and was amazed at the speed improvements. I have only come across one app that would crash (asphalt 8). I am leaving it on, and if developers want me to buy their games, they better expect to support ART.
Would it be wise to uninstall everything and re-install the programs with ART. Or does it do that for you?

ART does it all for you.
When you enable it will shut down your phone, then when you restart it will compile all the apps as it boots, this can take a few minutes and is battery intensive so make sure your phone has a good charge before you make the switch.

Just a question if I may. When the update is released I'm guessing we will all need to reroot and unlock our bootloaders again? At reroot. As I am running stock rooted with elementalx kernel, would there be any risks if/when I update? Sorry the nexus is different then my old Xperia Play.

Your device stays unlocked. You will need to root again. You may need the stock kernel to update. No problem if the build is rooted for updating.
