After flashing to froyo i now have no 3g or mobile internet ,im on vodafone ireland and just wanted to know if anybody knows which csc to reflash to. Before anyone suggests i check my apn settings i already got them off vodafone sent to my phone but it still says in menu -about phone-status-mobile network state=disconnected.
Can anybody help cos at the mo i can only use wifi evev though i paid for a 2gb data allowance.
did you create the APN settings?
it doesn't get sent, it doesn't program itself automatically
you need to make it yourself
Yeah I got the settings as a configuration message and it installed the vodafone settings but it won't show the upload download arrows anymore.

here is one easy way to confirm if the settings work
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8124344&postcount=45
install the APN on/off switch
then set it to ON, tried turning it off/on/off/on see if it works
you can also try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=789039&highlight=*#0011#
it should show if you are connected or not to any of those bands
thanks for the help allgamer, im using sgs tools and im in phone info it says gprs service disconnected, so i press left soft key and get option to enable data connection but when i press it nothing happens?
p.s i tried the apn on off app and it did nothing
did you try this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=789039&highlight=*#0011#
don't sgs tools you will get confused
make sure you have the APN settings configured
I Was just using sgs to access the secret codes, I tried that but mine is totally different.

hi there. anyone successfully fixed this? for two days now I cannot get any 3g signal. it just stopped working at some point. thinking it must've been an app or something, i did a complete reflash of the XWJPA firmware. that unfortunately did not help at all.
apn is CORRECT, data network is enabled, no 3g....
edit: btw, this is on 3 network in reading, uk.
edit 2: disregard my post, the problem was the borked sim card. all is well now.
I update to 222.21.15.Ghost_ro-Retail.en.US I couple week ago and I have notice that You Tube sometime will stop the playback and just get stuck, also when I unlock my phone or lock it some time I get a crackle sound coming from the rear speaker, almost like it a re-verb sound from the lock sound.
I have cleared the cache partition and I have rest my phone from the back up and restore option. And that has not change these two thing from happening. The rest of the phone seams to be working find I don't know what else to do to fix this problem.
Same problem here with YouTube playback... 222.27.1.ghost_row.02.en.DE

Try going to Settings > About Phone and enabling Developer Options by tapping on Build Number several times. Then press the back button and tap on Developer Options and scroll almost all the way to the bottom until you get to the Media section. Try enabling/disabling Use AwesomePlayer (Depreciated) and see if that helps.
Thanks that tip seems to have fix the YouTube playback problem. Any ideas on the crackling sound made at random moments.

I just started having it. Totally random when starting a YouTube video, now it happens when I touch system items like home, back, the app drawer. Keyboard seems fine though.

Definitely software. It's totally sporadic. It stopped last night as I went to bed and then picked up this afternoon when I was texting someone.
Would re-flash using the
MOTO X, GSM Dev Edition:L-5.1-LPA23.12-15 (Retail) LMR1 fixe these software glitches. And if I am on lock bootloader do I need to unlock before flash this per Motorola instructions.

Anyone else having problem with cell data connection? Wifi works fine but cell does not connect. I have this problem using PTel (T-Mobile MVNO w/ LTE) and H2O (AT&T MVNO w/LTE). Truphone which is both T-Mobile and AT&T MVNO but has not LTE can connect but drops the signal quite often even in areas whith strong signal (-75 dbm or better).
I have checked the APN settings for all, cleared cache, done a factory reset and the problem persists. Before the 5.1 update I had absolutely no problem using all three providers listed above. Any suggestion is welcome since I am running out of idea and the next step is calling Motorola.

My data connection has been really good post-update, so I can't offer any assistance other than what you've already done. I would definitely confirm from your carriers which APNs you're supposed to be using and/or call them/Motorola about it.
Try different apns. Sometimes I need to try a few different ones listed before the phone works. Make sure you save the APN
i also had The crackling sound on my moto xt1053 but it was a gravitybox (xposed module) setting I had enabled. after I disabled that and rebooted the problem vanished. This may help others

I've had mobile data connections problems saying something like "failed sign in attempt with AT&T network" and the crackling speaker.
I called AT&T, who did something on their end. It did work, but when I switch from WiFi to mobile there is a moment or two when the !sign-in failed symbol pops up. But, the signal returns soon.
Hello,
I recently updated my Z3 compact (D5803) to android 5.1.1. on the T-Mobile network here in NYC. Ever since then, I frequently lose the ability to do anything data-based with the phone. No web browing, no chatting on whatsapp. I can still make phone calls and send/receive SMS, however. The data functionality returns when on WiFi, but goes away once I switch back to LTE. In order for me to get data on LTE, I have to manually download the internet settings for my provider to my phone (this is located under the Settings menu in android). Even then, it only lasts for several minutes before the data connection is lost. T-Mobile was unable to fix the problem, and changing the SIM card didn't resolve the issue.
Anyone else experience this?
Yes, many others have the same problem, see various posts in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/discussion-5-1-1-stock-released-post-t3162309
Currently, the best workaround seems to be to disable and re-enable mobile data, or to go to airplane mode and back again. That solves the issue until you drop LTE connection the next time, then you will have to re-iterate.

Yes I am having the exact same problem since updating to 5.1.1. As the other reply says turning airplane mode off then on is the quickest way to get connectivity back (swipe down twice from the top for quick access). This is terribly frustrating though, it only lasts for a few minutes. I can't believe they pushed the update with this issue!

My phone had this issue after the over the air update. I reset the phone to factory, wiped all data. Two days on, now, and no more problems with this.
Same problem. I tried factory reset out of desperation, but it didn't work.
Love this phone, but very discouraged by this bug.

As posted in the other thread, there is now a fix/workaround:
From reddit user FishStik5: Going into the APN settings and changing the APN protocol to iPv4 only (it was iPv6 before) seems to fix the problem.
How to find the setting: Settings-> Wirelessa and Network / more -> Mobile networks -> APN -> T-mobile data -> APN protocol -> Set to IPv4.

Looks like this worked for me (T-mobile, San Francisco area). Thanks for posting this
i'm having the same problem and didn't work for my the ipv4. still loosing data, i have to reboot the phone
I have also problem with that (Orange, Poland). I sent my phone to official Sony service, they reload the software, but I still have that problem. Lte is working for a while and when my phone switches to wcdma (because it is not in a range of lte) it is not working either. However, when I change the preferred network from lte to wcdma it is working without any issues.
Same problem here although I'm on ipv4 [emoji34]

This worked for me
This worked on my Doogee Valencia2 Y100Pro
Install and Open app "Hidden Android Settings" (by 0Alex)
Select choose and open "RadioInfo"
Move to Last option "TOGGLE DNS CHECK"
mine read "0.0.0.0 not allowed"
press the "TOGGLE DNS CHECK" so that it displays "0.0.0.0 Allowed"
That's it - my mobile data worked, I hope it works for yo

this is a bug on 5.1.1 sony need to fix it
Any news with this issue?
No problem here with LTE on the CM 12.1 Cyanogenmod flavor of 5.1.1 on T-mobile (that I've noticed at least). But I think CM 12.1 may handle the APN settings differently (mine is set to T-Mobile LTE ipV4) from the stock ROM or it could be something Sony messed up from the AOSP code. I'm NOT suggesting anyone try a CM ROM as a solution as there are lots of downsides to unlocking your phone and flashing any non-stock ROM. But the problem does seem to be specific to the Sony ROM and not 5.1.1 in general.
I also have this problem after the update to 5.1.1 in the Netherlands. The first problem was that the update changed some mobile data settings, so I downloaded the settings from my provider. Unfortunately those settings were also incorrect as I had to manually remove the APN's Proxy and Port (they were set, be needed to be 'not set'/empty). This improved the connection a bit, but it still looses the mobile data at certain places (where the coverage is good). Did a factory reset as the Sony helpdesk suggested. For a few days this seemed to help, but again the same issue came up. The suggested solution mentioned in this thread did not work as those settings are already applied.
I have a profider (Telfort) which uses another provider's network (KPN's). So after the update I also see a annoying R in the signal icon, where in the previous version it always showed H+, H, 3G.
Does anyone know if this is resolved in the new update?
After the last update and a new reconfiguracion on the APN now work correct for me.

I am thinking to load custom ROM and see the result.

The question is, is it actually going to solve it?
And if not what moves it takes to get it fix?
I wonder if your provider is supporting bands used by that model. Turn off lte and check if data stays steady.

In this case LTE should not work at all. But it is disconnecting itself when I am using LTE and suddenly DATA is gone.
I suggest upgrading to android 6.0.1(N910TUVU2EPG2) using SAMSUNG SMART SWITCH in your computer or go to the setting>About Device>Software Update.
Download and Odin official firmware. You have a old modem that is mismatched from the operating system.

I only just made the switch today and I've been using it like the last 5-6 hours, so I can't really attest to signal strength away from home. That being said, my data speeds on LTE are consistent with what I had on the T-Mobile firmware (here at home), and WiFi calling may actually be working better now (not joking here, but again, very early here). VOLTE is working as it should as well. Call waiting is broken on T-Mobile, no matter what firmware you have... So this issue persists and it's known on the OnePlus Community forums.
I should also mention there is no quick setting to turn WiFi calling off (nor anything in the regular settings menu). Seems the only way to turn WiFi calling off would be to turn off WiFi, or use the log kit app (dialer code) to get into engineering settings.
Everything seems really good for me so far. I'll update in a day or so. When I go to work, my LTE download speeds break 100mbps... Let's see if that continues with the international firmware.

May I ask, where in the settings is that? I've done what I thought was a very thorough search, in the settings app and within the dialer app. Maybe I'm an idiot.
Edit: I finally found the WiFi calling settings in the dialer app. Still no quick setting tile for me however.

I'm about to switch back to the international version as soon as I make a backup and copy it to my laptop. I don't remember if there was a quick setting tike for it or not. I don't use wifi calling so I didn't pay a lot of attention to see if there was a quick setting tile.

The international firmware does have *working* WiFi calling w/ T-Mobile, though the setting is kinda of hidden within the dialer app's settings menu (3 for button up at the top right, see screenshots). This is also where the VOLTE setting is found. Took me a while to find because there's like two different "SIM" settings menu, and I thought they were the same thing.
There is, however, NO quick settings tile. Perhaps an app like System UI Tuner or something similar could resolve that though.
