"Pumpkin" KD-C0248 updates - MTCB Android Head Units General

I have been reading through the forums looking for solutions to specific issues that I am having with my head unit. I have had it for a month and after 3 weeks the wifi gradually stopped working so I can't directly connect to the Internet currently with the head unit.
So while I was on vacation I attempted to update the firmwares to more current...
Original MCU was KLD6 V2.83 I am now running the latest...
update.img is now one of Mal's from August iirc... anything any newer than that would just sit at the boot screen,
Problems started when I updated the MCU without backing it up...
Issues as follows...
1. Radio no tune, no sound (Setting up factory settings corrected this by trial and error)
2. Bluetooth pairs but no activity...(Setting up factory settings corrected this by trial and error)
3. DVD plays audio no video to head unit. Factory did not require the wire to be grounded. Went back and grounded and still will not play video sound is ok. So the question here is how do I get video on the head unit? I have not found a setting for this...
4. WiFi still broken (it did work for about 5 minutes then failed) No MAC address populated in the settings.
I ordered a 3G dongle however was shipped one that does not work with my unit nor does it work on the network here. (800/1800 was shipped which does not work here in the states) So I ordered another hoping that I get the correct one....

[Q] Bluetooth no audio in car

Hello everyone. New owner of Motorola MB886 (AT&T Atrix HD) - bought brand new/refurb off local craigslist. Sweet deal, had it rooted, flashed Mexican Retail right away and then unlocked bootloader (just to try other ROMs in the future). Problem is the bluetooth. Wife uses the phone, can pair no problem to the Lexus she drives, but no audio coming in or out during calls. Everything else including streaming works normal. Sometimes the audio kicks in, after a minute or so of wait, for no apparent reason. Device is connected well, no drops. Is this a known bug with Atrix HD on the stock 4.1.2 (JB) ROM? I could see bluetooth being broken on Custom experimental builds, but wasn't expecting it to be the problem. Any fix or other ROMs with working bluetooth? I search and didn't see a dedicated thread, other then few mentions of various bluetooth problems. Google search problem is not limited to Atrix, many RAZR devices have same issue. Just wanted to know what my options are. Thanks.
On ICS, never had any problem with my Kenwood car stereo. Reliable pair, calls, music.
Phonebook works, except favorite contacts don't show up (must be a Kenwood problem).
SMS doesn't really work but then again it's been years since they were trying to support SMS on head units.
Also worked fine with a rental Cruze and actually the title of the current song was displayed on the car stereo (my Kenwood doesn't do that).
Is this it? No other confirmation of Bluetooth problems? Can I at least get a clue if this is a result of wrong flash or problem with the ROM, or any AT&T stock users having the same issue? To me it looks like phone connects using basic sound profile, not as headset. Thanks everyone.
Here is an update to my issue with bluetooth. I ended up creating a full backup using CWM recovery and did a factory reset. Then restored just the data partition (from CWM advance restore) and re-mapped the bluetooth. Everything is working like charm now. Lesson, don't forget to do factory reset after flashing, or if any problems arise. Good luck to everyone.

[Q] Anyone have issues with Bluetooth A2DP?

I got my Note 4 yesterday and was trying to connect my car radio (Jvc Kw-V50BT). The phone connected, but when trying to connect the media part of the phone it just doesn't want to connect. I had a LG G2 prior to this phone and it worked fine. I checked JVC and it should work with Bluetooth 2.0 and up. This is baffling my mind right now. I might have to factory reset my phone and try it that way. Any help would be appreciated.
No problems here I use my Ford touch and everything is fine

If it still doesn't work...try another BT source.
Works better with my Ford Touch than any phone previously.

Try reseting your radio... not sure how you do that with your model. Make sure you delete the old pairing.
bt 4.0, which most newer phones have, is very touchy about what it works properly with; I have a bad time trying to stay connected to my vivosmart garmin band, but pairing to my car and plantronics headset works 100% of the time.
my wife has a G3, and has the same issues; some things work 100% of the time, and some others only work occasionally
A2DP Issues
I just got my Note 4 yesterday, and am definitely experiencing some (admittedly minor) issues with A2DP in my Honda CR-V EXL 2012.
When playing music over Bluetooth, I experience the infamous "Galaxy S5 intermittent half-second skip". Also, I have noticed that when playing an album or playlist, if the screen on the phone is off the currently playing song information will not update.
For example:
I am listening to "Gimme More" by Britney Spears on the album Blackout.
"Gimme More" ends, and the next track "Piece of Me" comes on.
The car screen will continue to show "Gimme More' unless I use the forward or back buttons from my steering wheel or dashboard to manually change songs.
This causes the screen to update to "Piece of Me"... albeit with a brief delay.
Very odd...

I finally got it too work, but I had to get an app to help me out. I think it was called Bluetooth Manager or something. I forced it to accept the media and got it working. I was getting frustrated when even a factor reset didn't help.
Yes, I have the stuttering too on my Note 4. What can I do about it?
Note 4 note; note, Bluetooth.

This may not help but.. Got my Note 4 four days ago; had the Note 3. 3 Had 0 problems with Bluetooth; 30 ft. through walls, drops rare, auto connected to my car while I was in the house. Note 4 range 15 feet,, constant drops and fails to connect. Hoping to get another 3 or 4 from T-mobile but that has not happened yet. I'm good carrying both. The 4 makes calls (although the speaker is a downgrade. The 3 connects to all my stuff. just like the old days at work. :fingers-crossed:
This is what I'm using. No issues.
It's not super new. Just a decent deck. But, the rule is the newer the better with flagship phones:
Not sure if this is related or not - I have an open thread about blue tooth streaming issues with my car...
What I have found so far -
My car (2012 Subaru STi) has two methods to pair a blue tooth device... entering the setup through the steering wheel is the only way to save a device for auto connect and play, entering the setup through the head unit lets you save and select a phone to pair, but you must select pair each time you get into the car. If you do option #2, I have the call audio and media boxes always unchecked. - see if your car has a different method for primary user/secondary user blue tooth set up
and secondly, my main issue was that while listening to spotify my radio head unit would say BT-Audio Paused out of nowhere, when in fact, the spotify track still shows playing and the song is progressing.
after lots of troubleshooting I think this may be an issue to spotify itself and not my phone (I am now testing Pandora/other streaming media to see if they do the same interment freeze/odd stuff)
I've also been having problems with Bluetooth devices connected to my Note 4. Previously, I had been using an iPhone 6 and I didn't have any issues with these devices. Now, I'm experiencing connection problems with my Jawbone UP24, my Plantronics headset, or my Jaybird stereo earbuds, and other devices. Once I reboot my Note 4, the BT connection is usually back. But, sometimes I have problems even after I've rebooted the Note 4. If I power cycle my BT peripheral, I'm usually OK as well.
So - my question is: could it be possible that some of my Bluetooth peripherals (like my Jawbone UP24) may be causing some type of interference? Or, do I have faulty hardware?
Older Bluetooth Devices always seem to be hit or miss on the newer Samsung devices that have been coming out. May be its age being the factor, lol. :silly:

S5 bluetooth music skipping

Has anyone found an actual fix for this issue?
Clearing cache, unpairing, and resetting have not worked.
Someone please help!
This issue is driving me nuts!!!
S5 Bluetooth Potential Fix
I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900A running Android 4.4.4 KitKat, and the bluetooth audio has been skipping constantly when it is paired with my car stereo. This issue has driven me absolutely crazy for months. I've literally come close to throwing my phone out the window.
I first thought it was an issue with buffering when streaming from Google Play since those files are all high-quality 320 kbps, but then I realized playing music directly off of my phone also skipped. Next, I thought it might have been the bluetooth receiver in my stock 2012 Toyota Tacoma radio, so I even upgraded my radio to a Pioneer FH-X720BT.
I've been searching and searching online forums for an answer but no luck yet. I also thought it might've been an issue with Android 4.4.2 and was anxiously anticipating AT&T coming out with a software update in the US. Well, it finally came yesterday and guess what? Bluetooth audio has STILL been skipping.
I figured it had to be something else like CPU availability -- like my phone just didn't have the oomph to stream audio via bluetooth. I downloaded the free GSam Battery Monitor from the app store to see what was using my phone's CPU the most. Once it was downloaded, I went to "App Usage" and then under the top menu "View CPU Minutes Used." I thought it was weird that my Alarm Clock Xtreme app was at the top along with Android System, Kernel (Android OS), and the Intellicast weather app. I uninstalled the Alarm Clock and Intellicast apps and so far the frequency of skips is much lower -- 4 whole songs with no skips on my drive home. Not sure if this will work for you, but try disabling or uninstalling apps that use the CPU the most.
Android should really come out with a better solution for this issue instead of me having to figure out which third-party apps (that I frequently use, btw) that I have to get rid of. I listen to music all the time from my phone via bluetooth, and I am almost frustrated enough to go back to the dreaded iPhone (at least its freaking bluetooth works seamlessly). You'd think there would be some kind of CPU task management prioritization that would put Bluetooth Sharing at the VERY TOP (sort of like task manager in Windows where you can increase/decrease CPU priority). Anyone else got any better ideas? I've considered rooting, but I'm stuck with stock since it's an AT&T phone. If only complex technologies would just WORK..
I was having skipping on both Bluetooth and via aux cable, although I primarily use aux. After much trouble shooting, I finally reflashed from scratch and haven't had the problem since...aux or the limited Bluetooth I use. Of course I'm rooted and thought it must have been something I screwed up, but my phone acted a little screwy even before I ever rooted.
Yeah, this issue has driven me absolutely crazy since I upgraded back in May from my S3, which never had this problem in the slightest. I've tried everything I can think of short of a fresh install from absolute scratch. I'm on unrooted stock (4.4.2 at the moment - 4.4.4 has failed to update the couple times I've tried today). I've been hoping AT&T would get Lollipop rolled out and that it would somehow help whatever annoying glitch is causing this issue, but the fact that 4.4.4 only JUST pushed out from them makes me doubt AT&T will get Lollipop out in any sane amount of time.
I've tried settings in apps like Poweramp for it to use highest priority, but that makes no difference. This is such a basic thing to be so screwed up. I've watched process monitors while it does it, and there's no obvious reason for it. CPU usage seems fine while it's glitching. Nothing is consistently showing in the log when it's happening. I have essentially given up hope of every figuring out what is causing this.
When (if) Lollipop rolls out from AT&T for the S5, I'll see if that upgrade somehow finally helps fix this glitch (assuming that upgrade doesn't keep failing like the 4.4.4 one does). If not, I'll do a fresh install. And if I'm doing that, I'll probably do a custom ROM if I'm gonna go through all that effort...
Bluetooth Audio Buzzing Noise on Pioneer Stereo
So I contacted Pioneer, Samsung, and Crutchfield regarding the issue of bluetooth audio skipping and/or making an extremely loud buzzing noise for 3-5 seconds while streaming from my Galaxy S5.
Pioneer alluded to requiring the ground cable needing to be directly grounded the chassis instead of the factory ground wire. This really didn't make sense because this issue only persists when playing via bluetooth -- not USB, radio, Aux, etc. Plus, the factory ground wire IS connected to the frame anyway, and Crutchfield, BestBuy, and local car audio installers all said they would ground it to the black factory ground wire.
Tonight, Samsung said that this was a known issue, but only related to Pioneer radios. I ended up finding a bluetooth firmware upgrade to my radio on Pioneer's website. My current Bluetooth Version listed on the head unit display is A820, and the firmware update is for A860. Samsung said this should resolve my issue, so I'm going to give it a shot. They also said that the Android Lollipop 5.0 update from AT&T would address this known issue. I saw on another android forum that AT&T reported the update will be release in February this year, but they didn't have a specific date.
If this doesn't work, I'll try putting my phone in Safe Mode and stream audio over bluetooth. If that fixes the issue, then I'll have to painstakingly narrow it down to one or more 3rd-party apps. Typically, I force stop all 3rd-party background processes and only run GSam Battery Monitor, Clean Master, Twilight, and Nova Launcher.
Bluetooth Audio Buzzing Noise on Pioneer Stereo
So I finally put my S5 in safe mode to rule out 3rd party apps, and the Pioneer HU still did that weird, intermittent buzz glitch for about 1 second. The same thing happened today when streaming from my iPad, so now it seems like the android bluetooth wasn't the culprit after all.. I think it must be the cheap SocBlue Bluetooth module Pioneer puts in their radios. Several reports on other forums point out these on-going issues with Pioneer. Sound quality is great for radio or CD, but I warn you: DO NOT buy a Pioneer car stereo if you plan on frequently using a Bluetooth audio connection. I contacted Crutchfield tonight and will be swapping out the Pioneer FH-X720BT for a Kenwood DPX500BT. Hopefully this is the last time I'll have to deal with this kind of issue.
I did this with my iPhone and it worked!!!
Goto settings > bluetooth
press the little info icon on the right side of the FH-X720 or FHX-820BS paired device tile
This will open up a settings view.
Turn Off the Sync Contact feature

Bluetooth issue

I received my new 64gb N6 replacement from Motorola because my previous one was getting hot. Now I'm having intermittent issues with Bluetooth. It connects fine with my LG Watch and Lg HBS900. When I have I connect it to my Hyundai Veloster's radio, it stops working. My previous N6 did not do this and worked perfectly with the exception of getting hot. When paired with the radio, it works for maybe 5 seconds then the radio will say "Initializing Bluetooth Handsfree,". It does this every time the phone is paired. I was thinking it was a software issue so I reflashed the firmware onto the phone and it worked for 30 seconds at first startup then the message about blue device not found. I also took my car to Hyundai to let them troubleshoot my radio and it passed. I connected my N5 to radio with no issues also.
Has someone had a similar problem and fixed it? Any help or suggestions is great. I've searched via Google and haven't found any answers or issues near what I'm experiencing. It's odd that I can pair with my headset and watch with no issues but not my radio.

After initial paring with your car there should have been a message about wanting to download contacts (or something like that). And a message on your N6 about adding to trusted devices. See this link > https://motorola-global-portal.cust...prod_answer_detail/a_id/102403/p/30,6720,9293

I've added my contacts and added the vehicle as a trusted device. I've been doing this since the release of 5.0 on the N5. I should have added that the radio will say there isn't a service connected to but still have the Bluetooth icon on like it's connected. Phone calls will go straight to Bluetooth while this happens but no sound will play. I'm going to re-download the firmware and reflash it. It sounds like a software issue. I keep saying this because I actually had two N6 before this, a 32gb and a 64, that connected just fine.
So I narrowed the issue down. It seems that if I sync my contacts with the radio that's when everything stops working. When contacts syncing is disabled the music streaming and phone calls work fine. Is there somewhere or something I can do to correct the problem? Thanks.
Bump
Finally solved my issue. It seems that my call log and messages backup I made in titanium backup was corrupted somehow. Reflashed firmware and rooted without fishing my backup fixed my issue. Oh well. I have my backup installed onto my N5

Solved-Someone point me in the Right Direction for getting YouTube TV (YTTV) working.

I know it's a bit to read but here's the deal. I have had 3 different Android Head Units, a forth on the way. On one unit an AllWinner R16 branded Eonon GA7166 I have been able to play my YouTube TV app... On all others, and even on the same unit with different firmware, it doesn't play. On all units / builds of Firmware the regular youtube / amazon video work just fine.
What can i check to see what's what? There's gotta be some simple / stupid change to a file that makes it work. Anyone have any insight?
So i have the unit on my desk playing the YouTube TV app, what can i check in the files to see why? When it first didn't work after i subscribed to the service I emailed Eonon (the place i bought the unit from) and they sent me a new firmware R16-20170509 that played the streams just fine. When i upgraded from that firmware, finding firmware here it was again broken. I've played with many settings and files but in the end thought i bricked my unit... I have since shorted Key1 Pin to Key GND top get it reading the working firmware from the USB and I'm back to where I need to be. Problem is that i want to get my newer PX5 4GB unit working cause my old R16 is kind of a pig.
Any help will be appreciated.
Additional Info:
I checked to see if the play store was "Play Protect Certified" and it wasn't but I just went to check the wording and that option is not showing up on the "working" Android Head Unit's play store settings. I think this may be where i need to focus my attention... (usually it says something like "Not play protect certified")
Thank you!
Just floating this one back to the top...
For anyone that may be having the same problem...
basically it's looking for Widevine CDM library files, i stumbled onto this thread using a magisk module that puts the files where needed and everything is working just fine...
