Hi I've been having problems with my SIM card in my galaxy note 5.
First one is it disconnects are a few minutes on a call.
The second problem is that I keep getting a 'SIM card changed restart device ' message.
I've added a bit of tape to back of SIM card and the restart device message hasn't happened since. The ee sim seems to be fractionally thinner than others! However I keep getting the call disconnecting issue so I'm not sure where the problem lies.
Has anyone with a UAE device found any repairers in the UK that might have a look at this?
It'll cost £100 to send it back to Dubai and return it to me so....

Tilt was previously working. Now shows "No SIM" on screen when any SIM is inserted.
Any idea what the issue might be?
I am not the current owner of the tilt, nor do I have access to it to test anything, so that is basically everything I know about it.
What is your best guess?
Thanks
is it your phone or is it a phone you got of e-bay.
If of e-bay it may be that yur IMEI is barred.

Ebay.
Well if that is that case great, because my carrier does not ban IMEIs, so it will work perfectly for me.
Is that really the message you would get if your IMEI was dissabled though? That doesn't really make sense, as it would see the SIM and you would see it say: Searching for network... Registering... and then it might say no SIM, but it says no SIM right away, so that can't really be it.
Any other ideas?
this is usualy a bad sim card..
usualy either a worn card.. or possibly an issue on the att side with your sim number
if you frequent any core att stores you might could get a free one..
I stopped bidding for it on eBay, cuz I don't feel like taking the risk.
It sold for $127.50
Sounds silly, i know, but i had the same a while ago, found the sim goes in and locks shut back to front the contact part going in last, just maybe this simple
I had a similar problem with my new Tytn II. Only 3 days old and after I took out and reinserted SIM, I got the "No SIM" message, same problem with another SIM card as well.
Just as I was ready to return the device, after a final test with my SIM card, it decided to work. I have not taken out the SIM since and this problem hasn't shown up.
There have been a couple of threads on this problem.
It would seem that the design of the SIM connector is not all that it should be.
My main SIM sometimes wouldn't connect and another couple of SIMs would not connect at all.
A piece of paper, folded if necessary, inserted between the SIM card and the metal clip to increase the contact pressure has completely fixed the problem on mine, but apparently it has not worked for everyone.
I am now on my third N1 after RMA'ing the first because of pink tinge camera issues and poor wireless performance. The second worked fine for a bit and then began to randomly reboot and lose the network. Often after rebooting it would go into a loop which only a battery removal would fix.
The third unit worke for about 10 minutes and after I managed to get it back to the state I wanted, it lost the SIM card displaying a no SIM card error message. I tried the SIM in other phones and it was fine (T-Mobile SIM) and other working SIMS were not recognised in the phone.
So yet another call to HTC and a request a replacement. I am flying close to the wind here since my warranty expires Jan 7 and there's no guarantee that the next RMA process will be complete by then.
Out of interest, in case it's just a simple SIM contact issue, how does one clean the contacts on the SIM holder in the phone?
if your restoring a back up or an app that could be the issue or a corrupted SD card.
How old is your SIM card? I am not 100% sure but for TMO in NY I had to replace my SIM when I went to a different Sony Ericsson phone, before I got the Xperia. After that my phones worked no problem.
But like the other member mentioned, you could be loading a corrupt system backup. I had a SD card cannot be read because of a bad build.prop I had installed.
It turned out to be a bit less complex than that. The sim was not sitting properly on the contacts but once I jammed a piece of paper on top of it to make it contact better, the phone recognized it. Not sure it this is a good long term solution or should I continue with the RMA process.
Well it's not perfect, but it works, so depends on how much you want the hassle.
Hi chaps, I have tried searching across the internet with no luck, here's the deal.
I bought this p1000 galaxy tab some days ago from a guy on a forum. tried it thoroughly before paying, inserted my phone SIM, got a phone call, sms, 3G internet, wifi, all working flawless. I used it for some days wi-fi only waiting for my new tablet SIM to be ready.
Monday, I receive the SIM but it still had to be activated. I just kept it in the tablet waiting for it to be OK. Zero problems, just the usual "no service" message like you would expect from a sim that's yet to activate
This morning I finally get the SIM activated, but as soon as I try sending a text or something, the tablet just shuts down. After that, no way trying to boot it up again: it reaches the Samsung logo, then bye bye. If you remove the SIM from the tray it magically comes back to life.
I already tried the usual stuff, like hard resetting and like, cleaning the SIM or something. I also tried with another carrier sim and I get the same behavior. I'm starting to believe that there is some hardware fault with the SIM reader, but I thought I'd try to get some hints from here before calling Sammy's assistance. Also the weirdest part is that it worked some days ago!
If anyone has any idea/experience to share, I'd love to hear from you mates. thanks in advance!
(oh and btw I know how to hit a thanks button)
I'll update the post with further intel, maybe it will help someone down the road.
The tablet does not like freshly activated SIMs. I know it sounds crazy but that's where we are at. We have tried like 4 different SIM cards from different operators, all work flawlessly; The SIM card of the above NOW works flawlessly as well, it just needed a couple days to settle down. I have no idea if this is a software bug, a hardware fault or some strange network settings from my carrier, but the problem seems to be solved for now. Luckily i didn't send it in for repairs!
My 2X is about a month old (bought it on ebay a month ago) and was on simple mobile network. Today my battery was at like 15% and I connected the charger. After several minutes of charging the phone stopped charging. Thinking that it would make everything better I turned the phone off and turned it back on. The charging problem solved but strangely enough the phone said "please insert sim card" . I took the sim card out and put it back in several times but it didn't solve the problem.
After contacting the ebay seller, I learned that sometimes sim cards do this and therefore I put my old net10 sim card in just to see what happens. Even though there was no coverage, the phone recognized that there is a sim card in the slot. Now I'm waiting for my new Simple mobile SIM to arrive and while I'm waiting, does anybody have any idea on what this problem might be?
Could there be something wrong with the device or could it be just the sim card?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have searched and could not find an answer to my issue. I purchased a T-mobile variant Galaxy S6 it was stuck on the Samsung logo but I only paid $100 so I figured worst case scenario sell it for parts. I managed to get it to boot everything works except cellular service. If I remove the Sim it says "Sim Card Removed" Restart. After restart it goes immediately to No Sim Card . I insert the Sim and it says "Sim card Detected" Restart. After Restart No Sim Card???? Checked IMEI its clean, flashed stock via Odin, pulled what little hair I had left out. Any words of wisdom? Thank you in advance for your time. forgot to add no mobile networks option at all in settings?
Does the SIM card work in another phone?
yes sim card works in other phones
Could be why you paid $100 for it. If your SIM works in another phone then there is a issue with the S6 being able to read your SIM. Have a friend with T-MOBILE? Try their SIM card. You might have a picky SIM.
of coarse it's why I paid a $100 for it, no matter what I can get my money back out of it but I was hoping to be able to fix it. Tried several sim cards same thing it recognizes the card restarts no sim card. I was thinking it might be the sim card reader itself but the fact that there's no Mobile networks in settings makes me think it's software related? Oh well I guess parts on ebay here I come. Anyone need a new display LoL
Same issue
Hi there. I have exactly the same issue with an O2 unlocked S6. I used my Ee sim on it till two weeks ago when suddenly i lost all network capacity (same as you). Previously i flashed an unbranded stock firmware in order to get rid of the o2 logo (may seem stupid but that was what i did). After 2 weeks of normal use with the new rom suddenaly i couldn't give/receive calls /texts. Since, i tried wiping, flashing, advanced wiping etc but same issue. Any advice is more than appreciated.
