Will the upcoming android 5.0 release for Galaxy Note...?
next in line is 4.3 and will probably be the last for our note, since it's getting pretty old in smartphone terms
Not officially but with the help of our awesome devs. for the AOKP/AOSP rom devs will make it possible!! we will get 5.0 I believe that!!!
ANDROID Lollipop for GALAXY S5 general discussion (news&leaks&problems&expectations)
The Samsung Galaxy S5 may join the LG G3 in getting updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop before the end of this year. Earlier today, an LG rep apparently said as much regarding his company's current flagship smartphone.
Now though it looks like LG's arch-rival from its home country of South Korea doesn't want to be left behind. According to a new rumor, Samsung will start rolling out the Android 5.0 update for the Galaxy S5 sometime in December.
That's when the deployment will commence, though as usual it will take a few weeks for all regional versions of the S5 to get the new bits. Still, given that Google has yet to release a final variant of Lollipop, this would be a very fast update timeline for both the G3 and the S5, and the new software would come much sooner than for past flagships getting Android version bumps.
A test build of Lollipop for the Galaxy S5 got previewed a few weeks back, and since Samsung was clearly already working on the update at that time, the rumored release time frame may just pan out. We'll have to wait and see.

Most other variants including N910F and N910G seem to have received BOE update while N910C lags behind. Last update BOC5 has a build date of march 2015. It's really annoying that the Note 4 in general isn't getting the treatment it deserves. Specially the N910C. Other exynos variants seem to have received it.

Any special improvements in those updates that you need or is it just that you need to have the latest version?
Actually both! 5.0.1 isn't a smooth lollipop update already. Of special concern to me is the overheating isuue. And then there's the flashaholic inside ?
BOD2/BOE2 arent too much different than the BOC5 update. They are newer builds since they were compiled later than the N910C ones but that doesn't mean they're more stable than BOC5. You just need to wait. There's a lot of time until your device gets obsolete for Samsung and his 18 months of updates policy.
Samsung was busy with Galaxy S6/Edge 6, and now they are busy with Note 5, and after Note 5 they will be busy with Galaxy S7.
Samsung is so busy, there is no time for Note 4, remember they already got your money, so you are not important to them anymore ............................ WELCOME TO SAMSUNG GREEDY WORLD.
If you are looking for stable faster updates cycle then try any other OEM other than Samsung like HTC, Motorola or even LG.
For me I feel really sorry that I got Note 4, I though Samsung will deal with me like a King and send me fast updates & others will envy me, but they sent me BOC5 with bugs & issues, and then Samsung went directly to fix Galaxy S6 issues and forgot about other Smartphones.

Downloding BOE1 right now for the 910c. :good: Hoping samsung will skip 5.1 and jump straight to android M.
Well it's generally agreed upon that you get 18 months of support and updates. While with samsung i got ONE buggy unoptimized update in 7 months!!
With every other OEM having phablets at 5.7" or more. Samsung is definitely not my next android phone vendor.
But again that's just passive-aggressive. I want my ****ing stable lollipop Updates!! If anyone knows is there anything we can do?

Don't think samsung is planning on updating the note 4 to 5.1 with 5.2 being announced in a couple of weeks. At least it should solve some of the minor bugs in lollipop.
Should've been working on it for a while, my friend. 5.1 has been out a month ago or something
Please use one of the existing firmware discussion threads. No need for a new one.

Thank you.
Update 6-Jul-2015:
Youmobile S5 mini updates Joseph Raphael (an official YouMobile Team Member) commented to S5 mini android 5 update: "It's expected by late Q3,2015"

17-Jun:
According to the news on SamMobile, S5 mini will receive Android 5 before July (within only 13 days).
And the firmware for s5 mini shows that majority of s5 mini is currently having PDA of G800FXXU1ANL1, to me, this means all S5 mini are now ready to be updated to Android 5.
Finger crossed and lets wait for the big day
:victory::victory::victory::victory::victory:

Well, for the record, it is now 30th of July. My other Samsung A3 at home has already got Lollipop update one week ago. What the hack is Samsung thinking?
Samsung releases too much devices. There are the large amount of low-end devices, the Note family and the S, A, J, O series. Samsung tries to keep up the support of this overwhelming bunch of smartphones, but that's a very difficult task. So, unfortunately this kind of chaos is "normal"...
...Anyway, we'll have to be patient and wait for an official announcement or the OTA update.
According to Samsung community moderator, One UI 2.1 for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will be released next week. The Galaxy Note 9 will also be receiving the update around the same time.
