Disappearing picture thumbnails on custom rom - LG Optimus L90

So when i change rom to ressurection remix (on cm i had same problem) i notice that my picture thumbnails in every single one gallery are disappearing. i can view them (sometimes not...) but when i browsing folders some thumbanils are showing but then they disappearing. Only restart of phone help but only for few pics. What do ? its not about pics cause on new photos, thumbnails missing too.

Maybe it's the same issue I had, this fixed it:

Did you do in this order?
1. Kill com.android.providers.media service
1. Delete .thumbnails folder inside DCIM
2. Remove external.db
3. Reboot

It the app that scans for media and creates the thumbnails. Sorry, I don't have CM13 installed anymore, I think the app name is Media Server, you can check it using Link2SD.
I had the same folders as you, and it fixed the problem I had (lots of missing thumbnails). You may want to delete this too, it's the music album covers, not in the gallery:
/sdcard/Android/com.android.providers.media/

[Q] Cannot take photos

Hi,
my diamond cannot take picture through camera application.
the picture is taken, but when diamond try to save the picture on my default picture folder, the waiting cursor pop up and remains until i close the application ...
I suppose that the problem is linked with "album cache" file :
i have moved several pictures from the default folder to another one (because there was too much files to be displayed in the same folder).
unfortunatly, i have deleted this file (album cache) ; since i cannot trake picture (when diamond try to save the picture taken , waiting cursor).
i've tried to put album cache file in the defalut directory from an old backup but it didn't solve this issue.
someone know how to fix this (edit the album cache file ?)
i want to avoid a full reinstall ...
thx in advance 4 ur help and sry for my bad english - i hope you have understand well -
Hello guy,

[Q] Double Image in Gallery

Hi there..
I update my SGS to Froyo last 2 days.. and yesterday I apply Voodoo 5 on it.
But today I just noticed that any images from my external SD will appear double in gallery.. dunno when it started to happen.. is there any way to fix this?
thanks
Im my case was 5 for each original, and with a lot of problems to delete the "non-real" ones...
thats hurt.. anyone can help here?
Yup! Just go to Application Manager, then easily clear cache for Media Storage! Ta-Da! No more duplicate images!
(It made my ringtones reset, but I could live with it!)

If you have Root Explorer
GO into /dbdata/databases/com.android.providers.media
and delete both the internal and external files
Reboot

Great hint, just wondering though if there is any way to have an app or script run at boot-up to do this for you, so people don't have to do it manually every time their gallery has a fit?

[Q] Cannot exclude folders from Album app

Hello,
Can anybody tell me how i can exclude some folders which contain images from showing up in my Album ?
i found a few replies regarding this in other forums but none of them worked and I tried asking in talk.sonymobile.com but it was useless.
I tried the .nomedia file creation method, Quickpic method and adding dot to the folder name method.
I tried all those methods to prevent the pics that i get via whatsapp from not being shown in my album. As you may know the pics that we download via whatsapp gets stored inside "Whatsapp images" folder.
I tried to put a blank .nomedia file into the folders and then cleared cache and data of both Album app and Media storage. Then after doing all that i rebooted my phone. I can still see the pictures in there in my Album app once i add a new pic into the folder.
Am running .253
i would really appreciate it if anybody could help me out
I am 100% positive that there are many people who would love to have a solution for this.
If you need anymore info then do please let me know.

the .nomedia way worked for me. but the trick is cleaning data and cache of the media server/media storage (don't know the exact name at the moment) in settings->apps, and then restarting the phone.
after a restart, album will be empty and start rescanning your storage. when finished, you'll see that there won't be the .nomedia folders included anymore.

Stock samsung gallery app

Hi, i have a lot of old files that i transfered to my note 5 but nothing shows in the stock gallery, only new videos or photos, didnt had that problem with note4, any solution?
Tnx
Try using a file Explorer and moving files that aren't detected to a new folder on the phone and restart ...it might help... but if u are talking about pics from whatsapp or something it might not work.. I have no idea why

Zrcam uninstall or .thumbdata3-1763508120 fix

I have sony Xperia Z1 with stock rom and xposed flash. Obviously rooted too. If i have missed anything, you can ask me in the comments section
I have flashed zrcam but when I click pictures, they are very huge. I do not have any problem with it being captured as i can delete them but what makes me worried, is that two thumbnail files have being created in my thumbnails folder which is currently taking up 2.69 and 2.68gb of my storage each. One of the file name is .thumbdata3-1763508120.
I have tried deleting these files but they appear back again or my camera stops working. I rebooted the phone several times and the camera started working with those massive files appearing back again. Also i have tried deleting pictures in those thumbnail folder but the size of the thumbnail file doesn't decrease. Pictures taken from my phone are saved in sd card and these stupid files are in the internal memory .
My question is, is there any way i could delete this file or i could delete the zrcam? Where can i get the stock camera app to flash. Sorry but i didn't back it up. I never knew i would face this issue. Please if anyone could help me that would be great!
Thanks a lot!

I have tried this trick by creating a file of the same name but that stopped my camera app. The app started crashing, so i rebooted back again and it was fine but on the other hand, the files came back again too, lol
