xposed on Samsung tab G SM-t810 ANdroid v5.1.1 - Galaxy Tab S2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
My device is : Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 , Android 5.1.1.
MY question is : How Do I install xposed on this device and android Version.
I am Root, I tested it with the root tester.
I tryed to go in recovery mode by pressing Power + Volume up + Home button ----: That bring me to a Blue-green screen who said " Downloading, Do not turn off target "
I have xposed installer apps installed, cant click on Install/Update, because I have a red message " Xposed isn't compatible with android SDK version 22.
So i try to flash it, so as I said, I cant go to recovery mode, to flash this framework :

Thanks

If this helps great, if not oh well. To note I have the WiFi only version t810 and you have maybe a typo gsm in tittle. As much help I'm willing to offer. Google does wonders if you get stuck.
I guess you arent rooted.

i am root and the xposed sdk 22 arm version didnt work cuz I can't go into the flash menu when I restart my menu, like I said in the post message.

Then instal twrp so you can instal it like I said in my message. Didn't know one could root without a recovery. Not very smart at all. With exposed you can actually hide apps from the system itself like removing you're keyboard and all menu options it ever existed. You will NEED a recovery period. So instal twrp like said in the post or stop asking for help.

TWRP is easy to find if you look.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-s2/development/recovery-twrp-2-8-7-x-lollipop-5-1-1-t3205686
You may want to do a lot more research though before doing any of this. You can mess up your device so you may want to learn how to get it back to stock in case you have a problem.

3.41 bootloader info from google support

Well I decided to call Google about the boot loader recovery not working as it should. I was hoping this call would help them to work on another update but they say that's the way its supposed to work. Here's the email Instructions:
1. Power down your device
2. Press and hold both volume keys and the power button to enter
Bootloader mode
3. Press the volume keys to cycle to the Recovery mode option
4. Press the power button to select Recovery mode
5. From the Recovery mode screen, press and hold the Power button then
press the Volume up button.
6. Use the volume buttons to select wipe data/factory reset.
7. Select Yes -- delete all user data.
8. The factory data reset process will now start. Once its finished,
select 'Reboot system now.'
The only option we have in the new recovery is to wipe data. Maybe for those having problems accessing twrp or cwm will be able to a access it with step 5. I don't know haven't rooted yet. So I decided to ask about nvflash and they said they're not going to release any nvflash tools or files.
um, yup. thats how stock bootloader and stock recovery work. lol
whats the issue? if your not even rooted, you wouldn't even know if you have an issue or not with the new bootloader.
Are you saying that you can't flash a different recovery? Or that when you do you still get the same stock recovery? I'm not quite sure what the issue is here, because that is exactly how the stock bootloader, and recovery are supposed to work.
Are you making sure to unlock fastboot before trying to flash recovery. I don't recall seeing or hearing anyone say anything about not being able to get to clockwork mod once its installed.

No. I saw people posting they couldn't get go cwm and could only see the red exclamation point. And I was just saying maybe after choosing recovery then holding volume up and power it would then go to cWm or twrp. I was hoping for someone to try it who is still on 3.41 Recovery. A lot of people downgraded back to 3.39 or whatever version it was

I can confirm that to get in to the stock recovery you hold down 'power' and then tap 'vol up'.
At present I am running the latest CWM touch recovery. This boots straight into it from the bootloader without any extra button presses.
My personal preference to go into CWM is from either QuickBoot or ROM Manager.

I wonder why some on 3.41 can't go straight to twrp and some can. Sorry for the ahole comment I thought you were trying to be a smartass towards me. I'm just trying to find out as much info from people before I root. I am experienced at flashing and a little adb but I just read a lot of HELP BRICKED MY NEXUS posts. Did you use wugs toolkit or adb to unlock and root?

When I first flashed TWRP onto my Nexus 7 after that official 4.1.2 OTA update, I wasn't able to boot into it. I then flashed it again via fastboot, and then booted the TWRP image that was on my computer, and then TWRP loaded.
I believe TWRP does work normally now as well (I can boot into it and reboot into it).

Well if I was you I'd just use mskips toolkit, its absolutely epic it'll save you a lot of farting around. I take it that your fully updated? ( Not that it matters) You seem to know and understand your way around adb so just go for it and enjoy.
Its works smooth as silk and save you a lot off time. The options available to you are just staggering!

going to recovery from bootloader works fine after 3.41.....wat r u talkin abt? (i m stock rooted+twrp)
oh yea...u hav 2 remove that recovery stock.p file thingy first.
There are plenty of people that are having issues with recovery on 3.41 bootloader.... Its confirmed some have it some don't.
The issue is that with 3.41 bootloader on some Nexus 7 Devices a custom recovery is unbootable no matter how you try, every time it will try to load recovery and fail at a black screen then reboot into the OS. It does not matter how you try from ADB reboot to recovery or from bootloader with USB attached or not.

Ohh crap I read about that in some thread. Any idea exactly what has to be done. The only way I can get into cwm is with ROM toolbox but I have to reflash cwm every time then hit boot into recovery.

In your system folder there's a file called 'recovery-from-boot.p'
Go into a file manager with w/r access and rename it ' recovery-from-boot.p.bak'
When the system boots it reads that file and resets the recovery to stock, by changing the name you remove the problem.

CWM 6 is not stable and you can't install anything other than KitKat roms with them. So the first thing you need to do is flash your stock rom back using odin. Here is the link on how to install stock rom using odin along with all firmwares and drivers (go to the "Preparation" section),
Flash stock rom on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 using odin
Once installed, go to recoverymod and do a wipe data/ factory reset & wipe cache (otherwise bootloop might occur). Then restart. Now you have successfully flashed the stock rom. Here is the link for rooting and installing CWM 5 on Samsung Galaxy Ace,

Wrong device thread buddy. This is Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 Q/A
Fix
My friends ace (S5830), was stuck at samsung logo after flashing a 4.4 ROM, It was able to enter
1. Recovery Mode
2. Download Mode
3. Other mode, which I do not know what its called (Accessed by pressing volume up + volume down + home button + power button)
I tried to flash it in Odin but it gets stuck at SetupConnection, so I tried to flash it with This, but unfortunately, after this, it led to black screen only, no download mode, no recovery mode, only the unknown mode (Accessed via all button press, the third method I have said), which I know that it is working because my laptop detects it. I just wanna ask if it is STILL Fixable by using Odin, Haimdell, or other software (only) available online or will it be only fixed by sending it to Repair Centers, TIA!

You usually get the "setup connection" error when you are in the Emergency Download Mode instead of Download Mode. You go to Emergency Download Mode by holding down Volume Up + Volume Down + Home Button + Power Button in which it loads a screen that says "Emergency Download Mode" and you go to Download mode by holding down Volume Down + Home Button + Power Button in which it does load the correct download screen with the yellowish message that say "Downloading…". Please make sure you are going to the Download Mode. Then you installed a rom which was not meant for our device, thus bricking it in the process. The rom was designed for Galaxy Ace S5830i and not for our Galaxy Ace S5830. You have basically hard-bricked you phone and that's why you get the black with no mode accessible. So far none of the hard-bricked users were even able to solve this problem with USB Jig. Better go to Service Center. Here is the link to similar situation,

Samsung Galaxy S5 G901F 4G+ Rooting, installing custom recovery + adding custom ROM!

WELCOME TO SUPER GUIDE on how to root and add Custom Recovery for Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G901F 4G+ kccat6/kccat6xx) (ONLY FOR THIS MODEL)!
~Guide By me, KiprasLT
Credits:
To @Tkkg1994 for TWRP Custom Recovery,
To The well known and Mighty @Chainfire (If I missed someone, PM me!)
IF YOU FOLLOW MY STEPS BELOW, YOU WILL MAY LOSE YOUR WARRANTY, KNOX WILL DISPLAY 0x1! I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGED DEVICE!
BEFORE STARTING, make sure you have your sistem backup, if somethink goes wrong.
PLEASE, follow the instructions step-by-stop to make sure you succeed!
Now, let's get started:
1. Make sure you have USB Debugging enabled on your phone. You can easily enable it by going into --> Settings, scroll down, till you see "About phone" --> Scroll down till you see "create number". Tap it 7 times and you will enable developer settings. Now go back, scroll down again, and next to "About phone" you will see "Developer Options". Click on them. Make sure they are enabled by looking at top right corner and clicking white dot. Now go down till you see "USB Debugging" Press on it and click "OK" Check if it's enabled, then your phone is prepared.
2. Go ahead and download Odin3 latest (most recent) version into your computer. (Just google "Download Odin" or "Download Odin3".
3. Create a folder on your desktop and name it whatever you wish.
4. Download CF-Autoroot-kccat6-kccat6xx-smg901f.tar.md5 by clicking here and put it into the folder you just created, or just download it and put it into the folder. This is autoroot. It will root your device.
5. Download TWRP Custom Recovery by clicking here and put it into the folder you just created, or just download it and put it into the folder. This is Custom Recovery, it's the best one yet for SM-G901F. (Thank you once again Tkkg1994 for letting us use it and have it on our S5's)
6. Make sure your phone has at least 60% of battery remaining.
7. Power off the phone while holding power button and pressing "Power off" and "OK" and wait for it to turn off.
8. Get the phone into Download mode by pressing and holding Volume Down + Power + Home buttons at once. Wait for yellow think pop up with some text. Then press Volume UP to get into Download mode.
9. Plug your phone into PC with USB cabble. Then Open Odin. If it's not installed, just install it. Then wait for odin to recognise your phone (where it says ID:COM) that little box should turn into blue color. Go to options, make sure that ONLY autoreboot and F. Reset Time are market. Then, next to AP, mark it, and then click it. Select CF-Auto-Root-kccat6-kccat6xx-smg901f.tar.md5 and click "open". Wait for it to load up.
9.1 Hit the start button and watch the magic happen. You can take a look at your phone and see that blue think is charging up fast. Just let him do his thing. After the autoroot is applied, the phone will reboot itself. Remember that only first reboot after flashing somethink new will take longer. Stay calm and chill. Btw you can close odin for now.
10. Enter the pin code if the phone asks it, then turn on wifi. SuperSU message should pop up telling to install SuperSU. Do it (You need Wi-Fi). When the SuperSU is installed, your device should be rooted. (Don't freak out if SuperSU message didn't pop up, you can allways install it from Google Play store). You can go to google play store, download root checker, open it, click on "check root" or something similar, it will ask root acess, accept it. Then it's probably going to show that this device is properly rooted. Gratz! If not, you managed to screw up somewhere :crying:
Now, it's time for Custom recovery. It's much more better than standart recovery, and it will probably be needed in future.
Sooo, step 11. Get your phone into download mode once again (Power off, then Volume down+Power+Home) and then Volume up.
11.1 Connect your phone into your computer with USB cabble.
11.2 Open Odin/Odin3. Again, wait for it to recognise your phone, then click on "options", again, make sure that only Autoreboot and F. Reset Time are market. Then, next to AP, mark it, and then click it. Select g901f-cwm-recovery-6.0.5.1(1130).tar and press "open". Wait for it to load up.
11.3 Hit the start button and once again, watch the magic happen.
12. After succesfully flashing custom recovery, your phone should reboot by itself.
Guess what folks? This is it! You should have your SM-G901F G4+ rooted and have a custom recovery applied! CONGRATULATIONS to you! If you liked the guide, please hit "Thanks" button, it helps a lot And you can also rate this Threat! If you need any help, just post your question down here in the comment section.
Just a thing: I don't suggest installing Cyanogens (CM) Custom ROM. I've had so much trouble with CM 12, with removing it, fixing my phone and fixing google apps untill I totaly reseted it. However you are free to do what you want. If you found better ROM that's working for you and may work for others, be sure to share it right here in the comment section!
Edit: I found out that this guy @Tkkg1994 posted a good guide about how to install a ROM for this device! I tested it myself and it works perfectly! Currently testing other features, but It's the best one yet for SM-G901F G4+ kccat6/kccat6xx, you can check out the guide by clicking here!
Hi! I think in the title it should be "4G+" not "G4+" and thank you for your post!

Oh yeah thanks for correcting it! And no problem m8!
Hi thanks for this guide!
I have just one question. I'm on Android 5.0.2, can I use the same CF auto-root file you used?
On chainfire's website there is only an auto-root file for 4.4.4.

Hey, no problem dude! I have Android 5.0.2 too, I use it atm and it works 100% !
Hi KiprasLT, I tried to install and root my s5 g901F, using your method, but odin simply gives me a message that "all is succeeded, one failed". I've enabled usb debugging, my phone is simfree... I have installed android 5.0.2. Can you please tell me what em I doing wrong? I tried even twp recovery, and it's the same. I thought by rooting I will solve this "failed one" problem, but unfortunately, I didn't have any success.
Thanks in advance

I think I had the same problem, I just made a backup of my files and then I flashed default firmware (official post + download link + guide here) and then on top of it flash CWM Custom recovery, then the phone should reboot, and then you can try to flash the CF-Autoroot again. Please reply back to me if it worked/didn't work.
P.S. Make sure that your phone is Samsung Galaxy S5 G901F 4G+. If it isn't, please reply.
Hi KiprasLT, I already have downloaded the default android(G901FXXU1BOC4_G901FNEE1BOC4_NEE). I checked, my device is SM-G901F Lte+. I don't know if it's the same as 4g or there are some differences, that's why I wrote this message. Please tell me, if it's the
same, or it changes everything.
Wish you all the best

It's a little bit different from the 4G+, but I'm not sure if it changes anythink. You might have to google it yourself or find another guide, becouse I myself don't own the lte+ nor I have any experiance with it.
Hi again. Somehow, I rooted, and installed cw. When I tryed to install the system, it passed, but I've got a bootloop. So I restored the factory firmware. Any suggestion? Thanks in advance.

Yeah I think the cw doesn't work for this phone model, so just stick whit what I've provided, it's working perfectly for me for about half a year and I'm not complaining. If you have any more questions, just reply to me.

I changed the DPI of my S5 Plus to 400 instead of the default 480. Some apps now appear in smaller boxes on the screen. For me the biggest problem is that the camera now has this problem.
In other threads people bring this up for the normal s5. The solution is to use Xposed to set custom Appsettings. But the problem is that Xposed doesn't work (yet) on the S5 plus! So is there any other way to fix the camera app?
Cheers!

Boot in root mode by default

Hi
At first Magisk app launch, it asked for download files for model than auto rebooted phone in root mode.
There is any way to boot in root mode by default?
Or wich command to use for reboot in root mode?
I would be interested in this, as well as not having to press the power button to pass the initial boot warning message.

I did think that was the case. Judy thought I'd check as it seems like something people would want to work toward fixing.
