Sounds like you tripped the Knox efuse.. Did you? Does it say 0x1 or 0x0 on the bootloader info screen?

The only thing you can do is reflash back to stock using odin. If you want your phone working again. If it boot loops after flashing you will have to start your phone in recovery mode by pressing the volume up, home and power at the same time and doing a factory reset from recovery, but I have to warn you if you have to do a factory reset you will lose all your data. Such as photos, music etc.

Wipe Cache/Data and Factory Reset from recovery.
If not, then you can flash the stock firmware via Odin.

Need Help Urgently, Hard nor Soft reset works

hey there, i'm doing this for a friend
he was updating to JB i believe OTA and it crashed.
It was stuck on the boot screen, but i got pass that, and the phone was back to the way she was using it.
However it kept rebooting randomly
So I tried doing a soft reset, deleting everything, plus i tried doing an updated on samsing kies, cos it shows that the jb update is available
but once the phone reboots, it goes back to the it was when i got it pass the boot screen, like its going back in time.
When it turns on, customer battery power saver is on and it starts downloading 4 apps...
whenever you restart the phone, it goes in a loop of doing the same thing.
I've even tried a hard reset, same thing, boots and starts the loop all over again
this is very confusing
I even tried using Odin to flash the original rom, odin shows success and the phone reboots....back to the loop state...
what can be done?
I will really appreciate the help
thank you
strange situation ... I am guessing that you are on ICS ROM ..
try downloading one of the safe kernel's first and then clear the cache or re-install the stock ROM from this safe kernel ..

I'm in a similar state at the moment and I also have a thread posted about it. I'm trying to see what I can manage my self until someone answers. I work at a bestbuy so I'm going to see if our samsung guy can use his S.M.A.R.T. to reflash it if I don't have anything new by the time i get to work in the morning. I'll keep you posted if you want.
Just a quick update - This thread just worked for me. I'm by no means an expert but It's definitely worth a shot I think.

If you root, don't go freezing the launcher if you use another...

...and then expect power saving mode to work. or any mode upon a factory reset for that matter.
i totally soft bricked my tab because i froze the stock touchwiz launcher a couple days ago since i use nova...then i had the bright idea to try ultra power saving mode. well, it completely locked up the device to a black screen because that launcher is a part of the TW laucnher, which i froze. there was no way to turn off power saving mode either because it wasn't in the dropdown, and you couldn't do it under settings..so i rebooted the device. big mistake.
upon reboot, it was still in powersaving mode and was freezing at the samsung splash screen. completely soft bricked, couldn't do a thing. went into recovery, did a factory reset, rebooted thinking all was well.
set everything up, then setup wizard force closed (probably bc i froze something) and then the device just doesn't have a launcher...because DUH, a factory reset isn't restoring anything i deleted/froze lol...
so now i'm sitting here doing the Odin firmware flash back to stock. SIGH. all bc i wanted to see how ultra power saving mode worked. STUPID.
but HUGE thanks to open1your1eyes0 for posting the Odin stock file. you should all download it and keep it on your HD just incase..never know.
now to trip the knox counter again and re-root lol
Yeah, that's a rookie mistake, but easily fixable.
I never mess with the touchwiz files since they are too intertwined with the whole OS on these tablets.

yerp. haven't been on a samsung device daily since the S4 a year ago, and i never did much with that thing...only used it for like a month before going back to my DNA lol
Did you flash a custom rom or just stock root it? I'm curious because I don't want to root it unless everything is still functional as is....

N00b here. I have Nova Launcher - there is a setting to "freeze" the TW launcher? Or is that only with a rooted device you can do that? (I haven't rooted mine yet because I'm scurred)

I'm guessing he used Titanium Backup to freeze the launcher. You have to be rooted to use that app.
yeah, i froze when rooted. this time I didn't. lol

Made this same mistake today. Froze touchwiz home with Titanium backup. Have a Galaxy tab 4 10.1. Can you point me to the Odin file you refer to and the process you used to fix this?
Why not just try booting in safe mode?

I8190 SIII Mini Soft-Bricked, need help

Hey people, I have been on this forum and using the CM12.1 ROM by New Maclaw since it came out, but I'm afraid my S3 Mini is dead now Saturday night it turned off by itself while charging, and it wouldn't turn on again. I let it charge a little, and after a while it turned on again, but was stuck on the CM12.1 boot animation. I tried rebooting multiple times, but it always got stuck on the boot animation. I tried booting into TWRP, but it got stuck on the Galaxy SIII Mini splash screen and wouldn't even go any further.
I was getting my hopes up when I saw download modus still working, so I flashed TWRP again with Odin, but nothing changed. I flashed the entire CM12.1 package again with Odin, but it had no effect whatsoever, can't boot into TWRP and regular boot is stuck on CM boot logo.
Since I had no options left, I decided to follow this guide: [GUIDE] Unroot / Unbrick, Flash official stock firmware on Galaxy SIII Mini GT-I8190 to flash original ROM again, first flashing the original recovery as linked in the thread, then the ROM itself, and checking after each step if anything changed. But even after I flashed the stock ROM, it would show the CM 12.1 boot animation on boot, and recovery was still not working at all. I continued by flashing the params.tar as linked in the post, but my phone still shows the CM 12.1 boot animation, and I can't get any further
What's really concerning to me is the fact that all the flash operations via Odin are going through, I get a PASS every time, but it doesn't seem to have any effect, so I'm afraid the memory chip on my phone has died There are so many great minds in here that know everything about this phone, maybe someone has an idea to help me get my trusted S3 mini back
Super weird. It's not soft bricked, it's completely f#cked up:laugh: OK, have you tried to remove the battery for some minutes!? Or go in recovery through adb instead!? If you have a backup (that's why, we always need a backup) maybe you can restore it through adb. Search on XDA for adb tutorials or something like that or some case like yours. I want to believe that you're not the first one with that issue. I know that's frustrating when we don't know what's going on. Good luck

I don't really care about backups, all my important data is on the SD anyway, I just want to bring the phone back to life if possible at all.
While on the CM12.1 boot screen I can find the phone with adb, but since I never set up adb my computer is unauthorized, and I can't authorize it without being able to boot. I'm not all that familiar with adb, I asked some people, but nobody has an idea how I can authorize my computer without having access to the phone system.

Samsung Galaxy S6 stuck in bootloop, after superSU failed to reinstall and rebooted.

Hi, i'm kinda new to all of this, so literally any help is appreciated.
I recently rooted my S6, and managed to get it stuck in a boot loop on the Samsung screen, with the logo in the centre, slowly fading from light to dark repeatedly.
This happened when i accidentally logged out of my snapchat, causing it to detect my device was rooted and wouldn't let me log back in. I got around this by updating my superSU and disabling it as i logged into my snapchat. Once i was back into my snapchat i went to re enable superSU, but it failed the reinstall and prompted me to reboot, so i did, then ended up getting stuck at the boot screen for the past 3 hours.
I don't know if what i tried was right, or even helped or made the problem worse.
I have tried reinstalling the custom kernel, re flashing the superSU through recovery, using ODIN to flash the original OS but each time i tried it failed, i might be using the wrong firmware, not sure, but i have a SG920F and installed the firmware for that, but it failed when doing so. I also never had the chance to create a back up as my phone didn't have enough storage to do so... It's at the point where im happy to factory reset im just not sure what to do.
I'm genuinely sad that i messed this up, and managed to brick my phone already. If anyone can help please reply to this...
Thanks.
