No SIM unlock prompt for HTC Desire 510 (Sprint), please help. - HTC Desire 510

Hello. I am writing this message to this forum after hours of searching. During all that searching, the most promising leads for a solution to my problem kept bringing me back to this forum, so I figured I'd make a post here and hope for the best.
I recently relocated to China. I brought my phone with me, which was a prepay HTC Desire 510 with Sprint. Awhile ago, I rooted the phone by putting TWRP on it. I basically only did it in an attempt to remove some of the bloatware on the phone, because otherwise, I see very little point in rooting the phone. Much to my displeasure, rooting the phone seemed to have very little effect on what I could do about the bloatware due to write protection, but I was able to manage to (barely) deal with the stupidity that is this phone's storage space. I mention this detail in case anyone thinks it is related to my problem.
So obviously the phone doesn't work in China, so I decide to buy an unlock code off the internet for $8.99. I get the code in a few hours, and the instructions tell me to put in a different SIM card, and I will be prompted with an unlock request from the phone after a reboot. However, that doesn't happen. All I got is a message saying "Invalid Card Please contact customer care" and "Invalid SIM Card 4G services are unavailable as the sim/uicc is invalid".
In the instructions I was provided, they did say make sure your phone has been factory reset, but I was unable to do this due to the TWRP rooting. What I instead did was factory reset it from inside the bootloader menu. This did perform a factory reset of sorts, but I still never got any SIM unlock prompt.
I am basically at the end of my rope. I don't want to have to buy a phone here in China, but if I can't get this unlocked, I will be forced to. If anyone can provide me with a stock ROM image for the HTC Desire 510 Sprint, or tell me some method to input an unlock code I am unaware of, or at least tell me if I am s*** out of luck because of x, y z, then I would greatly appreciate it. I think I have read and clicked on every single link on the first 3 pages of yahoo, searching multiple things like "htc no unlock prompt" and "htc desire stock ROM" with no real solutions to this problem.
EDIT: This was the message the people who sold me the unlock code sent regarding factory resets:
--------
Dear customer,
we got the code for your phone IMEI directly from Sprint server and this code is
in 100% working condition, it`s official code generated by the official carrier employees.
Seems like the problem on your side. Here is some useful recommendations.
Very often unlock code is not working because our customers flashing on
their phones custom ROM`s which includes custom basebands. These
changes in the structure of the radio module (baseband) are not acceptable
to unlock and this may be the reason why our code is not working. So
please make sure that your phone using original stock ROM and original
baseband firmware and your phone never was modified before.
----------
So it looks like I need help finding a stock ROM. I tried downloading what I found on this site:
****htc.com/us/support/rom-downloads.html
But it doesn't work in Linux. Wine gets to a certain point, and the program just dies. If anyone has a stock ROM for the HTC Desire 510 (Sprint) out there, I would greatly appreciate it.

Update:
I was able to follow the instructions here to eventually extract the rom.zip image from the RUU, rename it so that hboot would recognize it, and return my phone to a stock ROM image.
But as you may have guessed, this did not ever bring me to an SIM unlock screen.
I am basically at the point of giving up. At this point, I would just like to know why this is impossible. Tampered flag? Relocked flag? Maybe I'm just an idiot and didn't realize something about the Sprint "SIM" card makes it incompatible with a Chinese SIM card (it does refer to it as a UICC card)?
Any suggestions on why this didn't work would be nice. Guess I wasted $8.99 and 10+ hours for nothing.

I am attaching the links for Stock Rom And stock kernel

Question about my device!!

I don't know how strict people are about "searching" things before posting on the forums, but I rather get yelled at by some nerd on the internet, than to have my $350 device screwed over because I followed the wrong tutorial. Anyways here are my questions:
1) I bought this device from someone brand new, and it came out of the box configured to work with Windmobile, but I was able to get my FIDO SIM card to work by simply inputting it into the device. So does this mean that my device is already unlocked?
2) I still have the old 2.2 version on my phone, and I want the new version (2.3), but since I cannot update the OS from the device itself, I don't know what method I should follow from my computer, also I am afraid that I might lose my unlock (if it is) with the update.
Please link me to the proper tutorial, or give me some insight on my problem, Thank you.

[Q] Fully Stock HTC One M7

So I have a fully stock HTC One and have spent all night trying to unlock the bootloader. Nothing seems to work I have never rooted this phone, everything I have read makes it seem as if it's impossible. I've tried the adb/fastboot, htcdev, and changing CID methods. Plus I have read of various other ways that already require a root. Which I cannot do seeing how I am still locked and S-ON.
To be honest I'm at the edge and I think I'm just going to give up. I'm on 4.2.2 - hboot 1.54. I was a previous owner of the Thunderbolt which was not a bad phone, I rooted that and everything no questions asked. Although I do remember HTC taking the longest for OTA updates, not a huge fan of HTC.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to unlock the bootloader I will be fine from there. I'm positive I have all the right equipment and prerequisites just not sure if I really am at the end of the road.
Anything useful goes a long way right now.
Thanks.....

Is urs the AT&T One? Then the bootloader unlock process is different. If urs is the standard international SIM unlocked, then ideally you should see a splash after you run the bootloader unlock command, which prompts you to unlock the bootloader. Please state what exactly ur issue is when u try to bootloader unlock
I'm with Verizon but it just gives me a 1 line error message doesn't run through anything else or load up anything. I type in "bootloader oem unlock" or whatever after clearly identifying my device is connected with "adb device" and nothing happens. It takes about 0.14 sec and says something along the lines of "[ERRORR] ......" after running again it takes 0.00 sec and says same thing, I can screenshot if you think it would be more helpful.
Please help, I appreciate both responses. Just really want this to work.

Hahahaha Verizon is REALLY REALLY BAD when it comes to dev. support. Ideally, you shouldn't be posting this in this forum. Post it on the Verizon forum. But, I can help you.
http://rumrunner.us/downloads-2/
Download the package. Extract the zip and run the 'soju.exe' program. Please read ALL the pre-requisites mentioned in the instructions tab.
P.S. From next time if you're asking for help, please state that you're on Verizon

Worked like a charm, but now I am having trouble with the recovery portion of all this.
I have downloaded and installed the TWRP Manager app and then went to install the recovery and it said my device is not supported, this same problem happened with CWMR.

[Q] Help! Device Locked Due to Abnormal Factory Reset

Hi all,
I am in desperate need of help with this AT&T Samsung Galaxy S5 that I found in abroad. Before I get chewed out with accusations of theft, I found the phone in a restaurant and gave to the staff who returned it to me after 3 days an no one had come to claim it.
Anyway, I have been trying to unlock it for use in Canada. I'm a bit of a noob, so please be patient Started with a commercial unlock code to SIM unlock. I received a "successful" message, so I assume it worked. However, I was told that AT&T locks other SIM cards from working on their firmware, so I began to try to flash and install a custom rom. I went to geohot's towelroot page and clicked the lambda. I think it did something. For some reason, I decided it would be a good idea to do factory data wipe from the volume down+power+home recovery screen. Now, I can't get past the initial setup which is asking for my original Samsung login ID, which I obviously don't have. In addition, I can't flash the rom with Odin or install off of external SD card.
Please help!!!
Thanks!
AK
Hi,

[Q] HTC One... Soft brick?

A friend recently gifted me a used One that he had previously unlocked and rooted, but returned to stock. I am attempting to unlock, root, and SIM unlock it. (It is sprint, I want to use it on att)
I do not know a lot about the One, I am not a huge fan of HTC in general as it seems that their phones were always overly complicated to work on.
I successfully unlocked the bootloader and threw clockworkmod recovery on, which is when the problems started. Since then, I was no longer able to boot the phone...
Then, as usual, the tampered message showed in my HBOOT menu.
I installed twrp recovery but that failed to work, so I then realized I had not downloaded the version for Sprint HTC Ones. After downloading the correct version, it does boot into recovery.
However, I cant seem to install any roms (this includes through ADB). It throws the error message "FAILED remote not allowed"
So Im sort of in a bind here, and I thought maybe someone with more knowledge about the One could help me out. Is the sprint version even capable of use on an ATT network, and if so, can someone please tell me how on earth I can fix this thing? I want to make a backup phone for use due to the fact that I'd like to sell my nexus 5 and buy a Oneplus One.
Thanks a ton!
Any help here? I still haven't been able to fix this. I've been trying several different recoverys, roms, etc. I also tried to reboot the phone to RUU but that was no help either. Remote errors..

The Sprint HTC One is a CDMA phone and the AT&T is a GSM. They have different radios and partitions. Since it is a Sprint phone, you need to make sure you only put Sprint compatablile software on your phone, if you don't you will end up bricked. You might find more resources to help you at the Sprint HTC One forum. This forum is primarily for the GSM variants. I don't know which RUU you ran but you might want to find out what is really on your phone by running a fastboot getvar all on your phone. It will tell you what hboot, firmware, security, etc. Depending on your status, you can only flash certain RUU's.
Thank you very much for the info. Problem is, I was unable to even try using an RUU because it gives me the error that the phone is not even connected to the computer..

Check nkk71's post the first three or four questions may help you out. But like I said, you really need to go to the Sprint forum and post your questions there because what works for one variant may not work for the other variants.

[solved] IMEI Recovery help! Lenovo K3 Note

For the past half a year, I have been using Carbon rom on my Lenovo K3 Note, and it was fine, until it started slowing down. So, I decided to change it to another rom (Nexus), and the next thing I know, my SIM card is no longer detected.
Turns out, the IMEI was wiped.
How would I go about restoring this?
The things I have done:
MauiMETA = Never detects my phone. Places it into meta mode, but the light never turns yellow. Tried on 3 computers, and had no success on getting it to work. For two of the three, I couldn't find drivers for mt65xx and CDC.
MTK Droid Tool: The option to change the IMEI remained permanently greyed out, and was never given the option to change it.
Official rom: Didn't work. Currently using it, and still the same error (Null). Tried factory resetting it, no change.
Engineering mode: Always gave me an error when trying to enter command, never accepted it.
IMEI.EXE: Everything worked, except the IMEI's never changed in my device.
Have tried multiple roms, multiple wipes, SPFlash, CWM (Even ended up installing it again because I wiped my entire phone with SPFlash), and pretty much every trick I could find.
I need this think working in 12 hours.
EDIT: Problem was resolved with trying "official" roms until one allowed me to update within the rom. The Update that was installed via Lenovo's bootloader fixed it. The finished product was that of an untouched phone; I had to reinstall a bootloader, root, and a new rom.
If flashing stock doesn't help, and you have no kind of backup of where the imei resides, you likely need a service center to hopefully help.
But know that any talk of manually inputting imei numbers is not allowed on XDA, as its illegal in most areas.
Good luck!

So it isn't as simple as entering the two codes under my battery into some location, and rebooting?
I'm currently in Europe, and have no idea how any of that works (Studying abroad).

That talk is not allowed, as I said. Inputting numbers falls under tampering and is illegal in most areas, as I said.
So try flashing stock, if you can. But without some sort of backup, you may be out of luck unfortunately.
Please keep number inputting talk off XDA, or I will need to close this thread. :good:
UPDATE: So, I flashed another "official" rom, which initially didn't work. However, it did give me the option to upgrade, which I did. With that upgrade, the IMEI is back, and my SIM card works.
Thing is, the ROM is almost entirely in Chinese.
How would I change my rom without wiping the IMEI?
Please post the link to download the ROM you used.
I have the same issue and even service centers failed to attempt this.
Thanx and regards
Raju

You can easily rewrite imei number using snwriter tool, google it.
