Hello, i've bought a HTC One X9 dual sim with preinstalled firmware "2.15.401.1" wich is based on marshmallow.
I've unlocked the phone via HTC Dev and flashed TWRP 3 via fastboot.
Now i've done a few modifications in the language .xml files at system/customize/CID and after that my phone doesn't boot.
I see only the HTC Logo, but no sound or animation.
I can't find a ruu or a other way to restore the stock firmware.
I have a TWRP backup, but it doesn't help me.
Can anyone help me?
I think you have to lock your phone back and install original recovery then run factory reset

I am looking for it too. I rooted and unlocked the bootloader, and then HTC sent out an update... it won't install unless it is stock rom (from what I heard). So either factory reset will put it back to stock rom, or I need to flash the original stock rom? THEN do the unlock and root? Or is the unlock and root set forever and you don't need to redo it after each rom update?
Have a look here:
http://blog.163.com/gsm_unlock/blog/static/114965953201341644133884/
To retain root after ota, install voodoo ota rootkeeper from play store before taking the ota and run it to protect root. OTA will most likely break root. You can restore it with rootkeeper after OTA as long as you backed it up before the OTA.
Once you have your unlockcode.bin file from HTC, you can unlock again at any time if needed. You can relock to run a RUU and then unlock again after.

802w is a special one, I got RUU this morning, I think important is to get the correct CWM image (I tried three other images before and they're not working) and put an external SD card, it seems that the 802w need an external SD card for entering recovery mode.
Steps I did:
1. first unlock the phone
2. flash the recovery with cwm802w6032.img (I find it with google by searching htc one flash recovery, but now I forgot where. Other img files e.g. recovery_cwm_touch_6.028-m7.img are not working)
3. download the Superuser-1.0.1.8-CWM.zip file and put it in root directory
4. now it can enter the recovery mode and you can install SU with the zip file
Now I find the thread for the correct description of flash recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42151602&nocache=1

Hi,
Okay, I know how to root the GSM HTC One, as there are many tutorials online telling me how to.
The problem is that I'm using a Telstra branded (An Australian carrier) HTC One.
So, will the GSM method work? and if not, can you please give me the things needed to root my Telstra HTC One, if any?
My software number is: 1.19.841.2
My build number is: 1.29.841.2 CL164689 release-keys
If there are any other details you need, just tell me and I'll put them up.
I'm really new to XDA, so forgive me if I left anything out.
Thanks in advance

Then install TWRP I think.
Let us know how you go.
Not sure if Telstra use a different radio to run NextG @ 850mHz or not?

Does this actually work on the Telstra HTC One? I've flashed both TWRP and CWM Touch on the Telstra HTC One, and while the flash works, trying to actually reboot into recovery does not.. it goes to the HTC white screen with a brief flash of red text at the bottom, then a black screen, then reboots into system normally... no recovery...
Am I missing something?

I am wanting to download the Google edition of the 4.4.2 kit Kat update for the Sprint HTC One but am having no luck, can someone help me? I need a sense Rom and I don't like the new update Sprint provides. I'm currently on viperrom 3.5.0 because they don't have the newer versions for Sprint. Everything I look for good Roms they say I need TWRP 2.6.3.3 but the Sprint version is only 2.6.3.0. I'm just sad about this I really want the Google edition.
Use the latest version of TWRP,CWM, or PhilzTouch and you should be ok

I don't think that you can run Google edition. That is a GSM version and not CDMA. I would wait to see if someone can confirm that before you hose your phone. Know that they have unbrick directions for those that flash the GSM version on Sprint (which is CDMA).

Download the recovery you want
Put the file in your platform tools folder
Open a cmd window from that folder
Type adb reboot bootloader
It should say fastbootusb
Type fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.img
Type fastboot erase cache
Done

Hello folks, i am new to HTC devices. I researched and couldn't be sure what am i suppose to do.
My device is.
*S-OFF
*SuperCID
*Locked
*Stock Recovery
*Not Rooted
I am planning to do these:
1- Unlock the device
2- Install TWRP
3- Get any TWRP backup from here(http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860)
4- Install the Backup
Is these steps correct?
The backup in step 3 you are planning will not work those are from GSM devices, everything you do to your phone needs to be Sprint compatible meaning you HAVE to use Sprint firmware, RUU, ect.
I would suggest staying within the Sprint sub-section for any plans you have for your device.

Changing MID, CID, ect will not magically turn your Sprint device into a GSM/International device.
MY advice is to change everything back to Sprint or you will run into more problems down the road.
Edit SuperCID is pretty much useless for Sprint devices.

Unlock the device.
Install TWRP and backup your current situation just in case.
Flash MM firmware first with FUU and then flash MM Stock Rom with RUU.
Install TWRP if gone.
Flash this ROM https://basketbuild.com/devs/Captain_Throwback/One (M8)/Sprint_only/ROMs/6.20.654.3. (Harman Kardon)

It seems that some people were able to root with Kingroot on the originally released rom, but, as far as I know, there's no way to root yet after updating.
With no custom recovery (yet), root will not be possible unless another vulnerability is discovered.

Since Tathyajit has the same model and also in working condition, can we extract the hboot or system image file from his phone and check? Just a thought. In that case, we need to guide Tathyajit how to do that, if required.

If you can find a way to get root on your device, I'll be able to provide instructions to extract what I need to decrypt the RUUs for all Desire 628s. Unfortunately, without root and no custom recovery available at this point, the only way to fix @arindambag's phone is via a RUU that is not available (yet).
Need help please, could able to install the RUU for version 1.17.400.1 and the phone also started successfully, but suddenly the phone went off and now it's not starting. I tried all combinations of Volume Up, Down, Power, etc. but could not able to start. Once the charger is connected, pressing the Power button shows the Battery icon once and then again the phone goes off. Pressing combinations of hard buttons, I could able to listen in my PC that connecting/disconnecting sound is coming but nothing getting displayed in the screen.
At one point of time, the HTC logo screen did come but the phone again going to the black screen.
Any suggestions would really help me.

Its really simple mahn... Just download TWRP builder. Grant root access and upload your boot image. Make sure you have backed up your current boot.img . When the custom twrp recovery is ready, the app will let you know. For me, it didn't work. Then I contacted the developer and he did some tweaks and sent the recovery for the second time. And it worked!
