UNICORN BEETLE plus GPEL and Vikuiti 3M - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Accessories

Ive had the s7edge for some time now and been trying to compile good glass protection with a decent case (warning this is not for everyone cause it adds alot of bulk)
i began with a zagg i dont hav pictures for but to put it simply its no good. ur better off with a £13 Chinese tempered glass. ( i removed my zagg).
heres some of that cheap tempered glass first
it served me well for £13 quid
now for the back using vikuiti dqct130 3m s7edge
flip it to the front..... get out the wipes make it spotless and get that gpel rdy
and apply
and once its all done give it a min or 2 for the adhesive to set and in that time get the unicorn beetle rdy and apply
enjoy.....
the only thing i would say is it can get a bit greasy but it wipes off better than cheapo glass i had b4.
if you want more pictures or info leave me a message and i will see what i can do.

Your pics are too tiny.
Also, does the Supcase cause the glass to lift, like in the corners or the edges?

Click into the picture. Then click again and tell me they are small lol. And no the unicorn beetle overlaps the protector so it helps it to stay down.
Give the pics a second shot and you will see what i mean

Have this case, just ordered the Screen protector as well. Looks like it will be the perfect setup. Thanks for the post

Does the GPEL screen protector make the display hazy/grainy ?
Thanks !

Can you take better pictures? They're so blurry.

Tech Armor HD Screen Protectors.

Hey everyone, was just curious to know if you have tried out the Tech Armor HD screen protectors for our Note 2's? I ordered some from amazon seeing as they were prime eligible and go for under $7.00 I thought I would give them a shot. I'm glad I did. Installation was very simple and covers the entire screen. No orange peel effect or any kind of screen distortion added benefit too is that it doesn't feel like it's there. Keep in mind that you also can barely tell that the screen protector is on there unless you look at where the proximity and ambient light sensors are. I will post pictures soon. One downside is that it does tend to smudge a little but cleaning with micro fiber cloth quickly eliminates that. Also if not aligned correctly the edges will lift due to the curved glass display. Just thought I would give people a heads up on a cheap screen protector that works great.

Is it dry or wet?

I posted some pictures of these in the screen protectors thread. The cut is too close to the edges. I put a TPU case on after getting one installed almost perfect and it peeled the screen protector right up.

Usually I use Phantom skin or skinomi but I got this as well cause it was prime eligible. It's a dry install and it is one of my favorite screen protectors. It is a truly a glass feel. I highly recommend it. I agree with the op that it does get smudges pretty easy. Does anyone know a screen protector just like this one but supposedly a better quality.
It's a dry install

Another thing I forgot to mention was that the spen doesn't scratch or leave indentations on the protector too.

I had the same issue with mine. You literally have to apply it PERFECTLY for the edges to not lift.

I have mine installed for 3 days now and I can not tell you how impressed I am with tech Armor. Can imagine now there is a better one. Works amazing well with spend and looks like glass . Never going back to those wet installs again as this is clearer and no bubbles.
Tech armor is basically Ghost Armor. I've been using them since my Vibrant GS. Very good screen protectors. They have kiosks at my mall.

Actually ghost Armor is the complete opposite. That is a military grade shield and is a wet install tech Armor is a dry install with material from japan
Yeah I dont knkw how I managed this but today I scratched the hell out of the protector.

Definitely will. Theyvhabe taken care of me before. When I applied the protector and didn't do it correctly I emailed them and they sent me a free replacement. They have great customer service.

I have had a tech armor screen protector since day 1 on my phone and I have to say I am super impressed with it. There are no bubbles at all and the anti-glare and anti-fingerprint is great. Somebody mentioned smudges and it does leave some smudges, but they come right off if you wipe it. The only gripe I have with it was that the screen protector was starting to come up near the home button because the very bottom of it is very skinny, so it's hard to really get it perfect. I took small scissors and just cut that small part out and it has been great since. I've had it on for 2 months and still looks great!
I would definitely recommend tech armor to anyone looking for a screen protector because of the high quality and this is prime eligible on Amazon!
I've had JLG, SGP, and 2 different Glass SP's on both of my Note 2's and I got some cheap Tech Armor HD protectors to tide me by while I was waiting on a replacement MIME protector. Tossed them on both the Notes and gotta say I was very very impressed, especially for the price. I don't think it has quite as slick of a feel as the other "premium" protectors that are 3-4 times more expensive but if you are looking for an edge to edge screen protector, look no further! This thing covers serious real estate. Like previously mentioned, you must take care in initial alignment or it just won't work.
Tech Armor is the best dry skin protector. I have used Ismooth and I am very disappointed with the product. I like how tech Armor covers the whole front of the screen.
Can you guys send me a link, All I see is the screen protector is for a S3. Unless it fits for the note 2 too. Thanks in advance guys!

I emailed customer service cause I wanted to buy more and they said they would send me some for free. I asked why it is not on amazon anymore and they said it will be back tomorrow. The s3 will not fit the note 2
Is anyone here using this with either the UAG or a Sweet Armor case? Do these cases peel this screen protector off?

Enough with thin glass protectors

I am one of those who has removed the useless plastic screen protector, to apply one of those thin glass protectors. Three times... All of them somehow splinter on the long edge. After all 0,2mm may seem thin, but they are enough to create a small step, and if the phone hits a ring, a key or anything sharp, the glass breaks.
My question is: what happens if I use the phone with no protection? Actually all the phones I have had in the past never had an additional protection on the screen.

I had the same experience, tried one of the glass protectors and it chipped within the first weak. Ordered a 3 pack of plastic protectors for half the price and so far so good.
I ordered a Nillkin Amazin H screen protector and it's been awesome since day one! It's silky smooth and ridiculously durable (I tried scratching it with a steak knife and it did nothing!) but the only drawback is the coating on it as it gets kinda filmy every now and again but a quick buff with a dry washcloth or similar and it's great! I would totally recommend the Nillkin to any Z1 owner!!

Any particular place you guys get them from? Took my flip cover off to replace the sim, and man did I miss the thinness! I got a flip to avoid a screen protector but if you guys say nillkin is good, I'll give it a crack just to get the beauty back.

In the hype of the s8 i need so advice on s7e cases ??

Hey XDA,
In the hype of the s8/s8+ I figured I would wait on the note 8 so I need to do some house keeping on the phone. Currently I have a spigen slim armor with a otterbox alpha glass. Unfortunately it had a hairline crack now which happens because I tapped on the corner which has been making tapping noise. So from a bunch of reviews I ordered a gpel gen 2 protector. Now I am affraid my slim armor might not work. So which case would go well with this tgsp?
SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle Series
Supcase in general are the best for the curved edge displays
Same thing happened with my glass protector my slim armor case wouldn't allow it to sit flush against the screen which cause it to chip and crack while in pocket with a set of keys
Get a Skinomi "case friendly" screen protector and a Supcase and you'll be good to go.
You can use the clearview case, it will give you some extra features but use it with a screen protector, so no chance of any scratch on the screen.

I thought only the one with the belt clips work and if that is the case (pun intended) I don't really dig that look. Looking for something that also protects from drops! Idk if the wallet cases from otterbox or spigen would work with it? Also the supcase unicorn pro beatle case with the clip on will take ages to get here so idk if I wanna order that.

UAG Plasma - friendly Tempered Glass

Anyone who can recommend a tempered glass that will work with UAG Plasma case? Have the Spigen Neo screen protector at the moment.
TIA!

Thx for opening this topic, i want to know that, too.
amFilm for example isn't working. Returned it.
I want to order this case but want to make sure it's works well with glass screen protector.
works for me with minimal modification, it takes less than 5 min for a perfect fit

understandable, just showing the option and what it would involve/look like... from what i've seen the other protectors aren't as good due to them not having the curved protector and screen. i drive for ups on a rural route and constantly have to deal with dust from dirt roads, this was just my best option if i wanted to use that uag case. happy hunting and if you find a good one followup and let me know about it

Understood. I love the UAG case but don't want to alter it to make it fit. Had the same issues with the Note 7. I am currently using the sup case. It works well with the zizo glass screen protector. It had similar to UAG protection.
Here are some pics of the Sup Case.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B074W6GCZH/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The UAG Monarch fits the whitestone dome according to a video review on youtube. You must get the screen protector absolutely centered but it does appear to work in the video review. Same review shows that the uag plasma does not work.
What about the plyo series?
I'll be rocking both a Plasma and a Monarch depending on activity and I'm looking forward to finding a TGSP that works, too. I plan to use IQShield in the meantime.
Unfortunately the Spigen Neo film for the note 8 doesnt work with the UAG Plasma.. ended up trashing one of the films trying to make it fit.. the film was too thick and corners were too long to fit in the plasma..
The generic full coverage TG I ordered had the same issue.. I think its really the corners of the case that make it difficult to find screen protection for this case..
Here's the back
Yes, it seems like more protectors fit the Monarch but not the Plasma. I wonder if a case friendly IQ Shield would work fine. I have the Plasma already but am still waiting on both the screen protector and the phone.

I had a rural route awhile back when I was in package car at UPS so I understand your pain.
I've had 2 Zaags glass ones. There cap. Sensitivity is an issue as well as 2 have cracked. Phones been never dropped. I keep my phone separated with nothing else in my pockets

Ended up getting this.. a bit skeptical but its better than nothing for now I guess.. Didnt want to change my UAG Plasma at the moment so I guess this should do for now to prevent hairline scratches i guess..

Pitaka case and Skinomi screen protector drop test!

I dropped my Note 8 today (it sort of flew out of my hand) from a height of about 4.5' today onto an unpadded carpet over cement floor at work today. So, not much cushioning, but better than bare cement. It hit square on the s pen corner and made a terrible thud. I think we all know that feeling in your stomach before you look....
The impact bubbled up the Skinomi protector but that was all! I'm so relieved! The very thin Pitaka case and the Skinomi did their jobs very nicely...I'll need to replace the Skinomi, but that's it!
 :good:
also protects from shocks?
it would be perfect but I do not like carbon look
This case looks premium. If it had more protection I would go for it. Does anyone know any premium cases that offer great protection ? I hate the most used cases like Spigen, UAG, ottorbox etc .. they are all ugly and give the phone cheap look

Three words. You got lucky.
Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
yeah, I feel like I did get lucky, however if my Note 8 had been nakey, I'm sure the screen would have cracked. It hit that hard.
I love the look of the Pitaka. So, when i decided to switch from the Spigen Tough Armor (which is a great compromise of protection and looks, in my opinion) , I also bought a warranty from Square Trade (I've had dealings with them before and always had good service). Anyway, the case and screen protector performed better than expected, given how close the case fits. In fact, the Skinomi tried to heal itself overnight...hehehe...there's only one tiny bubble left!
I don't use a screen protector...but I'm pretty satisfied with the Mophie case.

Very true. We all have our preferences, though. The Mophie is great for charging my phone on the go...which is a big need for me. A screen protector seems to interfere with using my pen. I haven't found one I liked yet.
