I want to get CM13 running on my AT&T GS5 and need a little help before I get started.
Guide for GS5 CM13 ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/unified-development/rom-cyanogenmod-13-0-android-6-0-t3237502
Current Status:
-Rooted
-Build = OC4
- Kernel = 3.4.0 Mar 16 2015
-Recovery = Stock
The guide requires TWRP which isn't an option with the locked bootloader so I need Safestrap but there isn't an apk for OC4. There is only NC3. - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2794087
Is there a Safestrap apk for OC4 or do I need to downgrade to NCE first? It seems people have had varying degrees of success and failure with this downgrade.
Can I flash CM13 with Safestrap from the NC3 build? It seems like a bit of a jump from 4.4 to 6.0.1
Has anyone done this?
Thanks!
You can install the old safestrap, it just won't work unless you flash the nc3 kernel, then flash the lollipop one to get back out. CM roms won't work on our phone, especially not an MM one. Stick to the att s5 forums, to be on the safe side, unified development does not apply to us.

Can someone confirm that to update from Android 4.2.2 Rooted & S-Off to Android 5.0.1 while maintaining Root and S-Off, I just need to flash a custom ROM based on Android 5.0.1?
I would like the updates and particularly compatibility with recent apps, as I've fallen behind on versions (4.2.2 being evident of that).
I've read around several threads on the forum and have been getting conflicting understandings (most likely my interpretations, not so much the actual wording). For reference,

http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...-to-update-to-lollipop-rooted-htc-m7-t3111435
The second link suggests flashing santod's ROM should do the trick.
Based on santod's walkthrough, since I am on KitKat 4.2.2 and firmware/software number 1.10.605.15, I would:
Flash the 1.10.605.15 firmware from the boot menu (holding power when phone is turning on and loading the zip),
Flash the Firmware Combo for m7vzw Lollipop using adb
Don't need to do Radios or Kernel because those were previously included,
But do flash recovery
Let phone boot and all set on Lollipop
Is this correct, or do I need to flash a recovery or something to be able to update to something running Lollipop?
Thanks!

I didn't read everything in the links u posted, but the update to 5.0.2 will NOT remove S-off or turn u back to S_on, and will not re-lock bootloader, but it will remove root, but since it doesn't relock bootloader, all u have to do is re-flash custom recovery in fastboot , and then re-flash supersu from custom recovery.
I originally had KitKat 4.4.2 rooted using towelroot, but I got tired of the ugly TouchWiz UI and wanted to try Lollipop. I successfully used the FlashFire method and flashed a pre-rooted Lollipop OF3 Stock ROM (DeOdexed) and I am using the OA1 Bootloader (I believe it's KitKat) which I flashed with Odin.
I would like to use Safestrap to flash the .zip required to use Xposed on Lollipop. I read that to get safestrap somewhat functioning, you have to flash a stock kernal to get it to boot into safestrap, flash your .zip, then flash another kernal to ensure that the phone actually boots after using safestrap.
I can't find a straightforward answer as to what kernals I should be using to do this for my specific phone and if it is even possible. I will list my phone's details below.
Thank you!
-AT&T Samsung Galaxy S5 G900A
-Lollipop 5.0 (Pre-rooted OF3 Stock ROM)
-G900A OA1 Bootloader (KitKat bootloader?)

You can just use flashfire to install the xposed zip. Just make sure you're flashing the one for Samsung phones by arter97.
This is the one i use:
Xposed modules on G900A_OF2 - 5.0
is DeOdexed required for this - is it possible with non-DeOdexed?
Thank you
Hey guys, sorry if this has been answered prior (I couldn't find a thread about it).
I just bought a new Nexus 6 off Swappa, and I'm currently using it on T-Mobile.
The build number is LVY47H on 5.1, which I've read is a Project Fi build.
I'm wanting to flash up to 6.0, and my question is: do I have to first flash up to 5.1.1, or can I go straight from my current build to the 6.0 factory images?
I've done a ton of rooting and flashing with Samsung devices, so I'm familiar with most things, but not entirely sure what to do with a Nexus device.
Thanks!

You can flash the latest Factory image. You will notice that the flashall.bat will only flash bootloader and radio. The other files needs to be extracted and flashed manually with fastboot. Than rooting needs a modified kernel, supersu 2.5x and twrp recovery.
MM 6.0 stock kernel sets selinux enforcing and that may cause issues with apps not updated yet for MM.
The best method is (imo) after flashing m-bootloader and m-radio: flash a custom rom that is already rooted.
Here's the skinny...I'm on bootloader version 30.b4 I have tried out CM12.1 after installing CM11 and rebooting. CM12.1 is working great except for a few inconsistencies. I want to upgrade as far as I can and have a working device. I have not flashed any boot.img files or modem files or done any alterations to the partition tables except what the official CM12.1 (following their method of installing CM11, rebooting, then flashing 12.1.
Here are my thoughts.
Flash the stock 4.4.2 sbf and OTA as far as I can and be where I end up.
Flash the official .sbf for LP5.1.1 and update bootloader, then try to get CM 12.1 installed again and hope it works better.
Go back to stock rooted 4.4.2 with xPosed and love it,
?..... What should I do and why?
I don't want to end up stuck somewhere that sucks and I need your input.
Thanks.
How can I upgrade from Android 5.0.2 AOE2?
I tried to search and couldn't find anything that made me confident enough.
It sounds like I would need to flash back to stock (am on custom ROM) and then flash the updates one at the time using Odin or adb. I'm not sure what update to start with and/or if I can do it in a way that maintains root access.
These are the only two threads I found but neither mention coming from AOE2 or custom ROMs.

I would start with the first link you have odin to oj7. If you are on at&t you can do updates on the network after that to get to marshmallow.
I just updated from rooted 5.02 OE2 all the way to 6.0.1. Yes, you have to flash back to stock and then you can update OTA to 5.1.1 then to 6.0.1. I used the odin files here to flash to stock.
