there's a little toggle to turn it on and off.

It's a setting in the camera on the settings wheel. Are you referring to videos that you took with the camera, or files you've copied to the phone? If the latter is the case, try a alternate video player like MX player. It's possible that the built in decoder isn't reading the frame rate or bitrate on those files correctly.

I was digging around and didn't find a topic regarding this.
I play music from my phone through my aux while driving. I don't get any audio (or the volume is super low) when it tries to read out messages. I can't seem to figure out how to fix this. Any ideas?

What music app? Some just don't pause or quiet for the system. And some do. Its the way the app was made, not anything to do with the phone.
I use play music, the music stops, but the volume of the system voice is just unbearably quiet, no matter what the volume is set to.

I used to use it over Bluetooth, and it worked flawlessly then, it has to do with the fact its going through aux

Is there a video player app that locks the screen so that you can't use the capacitive buttons or mess with the touchscreen . I need this for my 1 year old daughter

The stock video player does this. Just press the power button while the video is playing and it locks it.
Whoops my bad, didn't see the cm12 part. I don't know about that one. I think mx player had something like that.
Never mind, with mx the home and recent buttons still activate.
