Repair teclast x98 air 3g board. - Teclast X98 Air 3G

I was trying to replace the bios chip in x98 air 3g but by mistake smd resistance near pin 1,2,3and 4 became damage and now device not start if some can help me to know the value of resistance by just measure there own than please help I will be very thanks full for that . (I was just keep posting this question in internet from around 1.5 months but still not have any replies I hope xda-developers have atleast any one who know how to use ohm meter to measure resistance well as name is a developer site and if any one not able to answer this question then it is very same full for all who are in this website)...... (if you think this is so rude so soory for that but am so anger because posting this question almost more that 280 website and still have no answer, what is happening in this world. (

OK I believe an answer is needed because otherwise all of us here at xda should be ashamed for not being able to help this poor guy...
I am a little tech savvy myself but I am not going to open up any of my 2 tablets because you could not solder a chip on the board without damaging other components. But as far as I can see there I am not sure there are resistors near the ic, could as well be coils (inductors) (hf filtering) or even capacitors. But I only checked a few photos on the Internet so not 100% sure. So maybe that is the reason no one has answered you. (And being rude won't help either)

I belive you and am really soory about me but we all are here to help each other so please help me i can pay any one for this please some one help me.

this is bad if you have knowledge you will have to help ,please help me and i will donate you.:fingers-crossed:

My multimeter reports them as 10k, take it with a grain of salt though as i measured the value in-circuit!
I'm not 100% sure they are resistors, too.. sure they are not inductors, but they could be diodes!

any idea how to be conform which type of component it is.

i am conform it is not any of inductor, diod.it only can be resistance of capacitor. then the only way to correct find there value is to measure both capacitor or resistance of component.

New screens

My own screen has some scuffs and scratches, and i was looking for a new one. Now i know because of my old job that having it replaced at a repair-center (i worked at one) that will cost me something like 160 euro's.
But now i found a company (www.iiparts.com) on internet that sells the "samsung LTP280QV" displays for $75 a piece (for minimum of 5 pieces) and thats a good price i think.
These displays are used in the wizard and the magician ( :!: but Toppoly TD028STEB1 is also used, and they are not interchangeable :!: )
Maybe if there is enough interest for those displays we could buy some together (saves a lot of postage costs  )?
It is not my goal to make money out of this, but to all save money.
So if anyone who is seriously interested could PM me, then i'll see if its worth it.
Goodluck.

Same here
That's not what he is asking guys.
There are a lot of users who won't use protectors because of disadvantages with it.
So if anyone is interested in a new display and don’t mind to do some DIY then please add your thread.

thnks drifter, thats what i want to say. And as i saw on the forum, there are a lot of people who dropped their device and have a broken LCD. For them it's also a lot cheaper, and DIY doesn't matter for them because their warranty is already voided because of dropping it.
.....
I already have sent my 9100 to the repair center....
If they will ask me a lot, I will contact you soon.
Today I got back my PDA....
I have disassembled it to check the type of the screen but it is a "Toppoly TD028STEB1"
Do someone know where to buy this kind of screen?

I found a very good quotation in the www.lcd315.com or www.lcd315.net.
Could someone know this e-shop ?
Did anyone buy something from there?

BUMP!
Hallo?!?!?
anyone?
is there anybody out there?
My question is there a screen which has decent sensitivity. I have had two T-Mobile MDAs and both are pretty poor when it comes to screen tap sensitivity. Also I have a continuous problem with alignment. After about a week I have to carry out a hard reset. Example if I am searching in my contacts database and use the scroll bar on the right side of the screen instead of scrolling the contact the stylus is adjacent to is selected. I have tried screen recalibration and that does not correct the issue. The only resolution is to clear storage and that is getting very aggrivating. Any suggestions. I am running Mr. Clean rev 2.4a. Am I looking at a software glitch or a bad screen... My guess is a substandard screen.
Bump again....
I still need to get the screen!!!!!!
Do you know if there's an easy way to determine which screen is installed without having to disassemble the phone? My Wizard100 (Cing2125) is fairly new and I just want to avoid disassembly unless it is really, really, really needed...
Sorry but I have no idea how to get that info without "explode" the PDA.
It will help to keep the guarantee as valid
Taking the Magician and Wizard apart
Hi,
How easy is it to take the magician and wizard apart?
...and put back together
I've looked on the net for hours and not found any instructions. On this site I have seen people talk of repairing their phones but no guides or indication of how easy/hard it is
thanks,
Graham.
OK, I found the service manual for the wizard at:
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Wizard/Docs_Tutorials/Wizard_Service_Manual.pdf
but what about the Magician?
thanks,
Graham.

[HELP] Main Board Cracked [Pleading to all techies!!]

Hi guys,
I sent my OB to get repaired under warranty because my wake/lock button wasn't working properly and i couldn't turn it on/off without doing some funny stuff with the usb cable.
Turns out the MCPB (main board) has the smallest of small cracks in it and my warranty claim has been unequivocally denied
The company sent me this image for referral in the case that i might complain and get their decision to not pay for repairs under warranty overturned. From the looks of the damage, i highly doubt they will.
The damage occurs in the top left hand corner.

Occurs here on the mainboard i think (credits to askor for the photo):
So i am pleading for anybody with any experience in repairing phones to help a brother out.
The place is asking for $280.50 AUD to replace the whole board and i said i'd rather chop my family jewels off. So i suggested that we solder the part back to the board and he said that "there is a very good possibility that i might damage or cook my board". and i rather not let that happen.
So please, does anybody have any ideas? any input would be appreciated.

At that price you can buy a new phone. I'll look at the pictures on my comp in a moment my phone doesn't show it. I haven't got experience in phone repair but I'll try.
EDIT: I had a look at the photo. It looks like it's burned and not cracked, You can't actually see the damage properly it would have been better if they gave a image from the other side. I'm no expert but that my opinion.
I'll be picking up the phone Saturday and since it's no longer under warranty i shall take it apart and have a look for myself and post some updates so i can better assess the damage.
@xonar_ thanks for your help, it is greatly appreciated. What are your thoughts on the warning from my authorized repairer? They said that they can't re-solder it for me due to contracts with manufacturers, but if i do it myself (or send it to another repairer) would it be possible to cook the board? I mean they would have had to solder the parts in the first place.

It's a strange contract they have. I think it is to avoid the manufacturer being blamed for bad workmanship and just allow quality controlled replacements.
Soldiering a circuit board isn't usually a good idea for various reasons. Try another repair shop. Doing it yourself is a possibility but if something goes wrong you are going to be one very unhappy person.

I would think that you are right, he said they used to be able to do patch up jobs about 10yrs ago but thats changed know.
The phone is pretty much useless as is because the only way i can wake it up is by plugging it in using the mini-usb port. So any fix that doesn't cost $280.50 is a fix that is worth considering in my book. The only thing is that i have already forked out $38.50 for just having a look at it and i don't really want to spend that money again by sending it to another repairer.
The part that needs to be fixed is only a 'female' connector so its nothing really important i suppose. Would frying that part be that bad?
I get my phone back Saturday the 27th so i'll post some pics and decide what i am going to do.

[Discussion][Q&A][Help] General Motor Discussion.

Hey guys,
I've been having some problems with one of my petrol mowers lately, I've visited a number of different forums, but no-one seems to answer or even get the question you're asking. No matter how simple or well-worded it is.
That's why I decided to make this thread, because we're not all computer-freaks, but some of us are mechanics, others are electromechanics, while most others are software- and app-developers.
I guess I'll start off with my problem, because I really need help..
(This is just copied from a different forum, where I asked for help..)
A few days ago, my lawn mower (Briggs and Stratton Quantum XM-50) almost ran out of oil, to which it then turned off (I hadn't touched it). The next day, my Granddad bought me some synthetic oil, which I then poured generously into the motor - After that, because it's a habit of mine, I pulled down the accelerator and then gently pulled the cord so the oil could smoothly run across the piston.
About an hour later, I tried to start the engine, it just kept miss-firing and didn't want to start. I tried over and over again, for about an hour.
Then, with all my might, I pulled the cord and the carburetor caught fire!
I'm actually quite scared to even get near the cord, as of now, so I just put it in the shed and pulled the spark plug.
I really need to mow the lawn and I can't afford a professional repair or a new lawn mower, that's why I'm asking for help, as how I can get the lawn mower going again and maybe even how I could get a little more performance out of the motor.

Happy discussing and please help Lol.
Have a wonderful day! (No, I'm not on Drugs. I'm hungry...)
Did you pour it in the oil reservoir or the motor?

I know the briggs and stratton engines (used to work on them lots) it sounds like your carburettor is sticking or the float has a small hole in it, you need to strip it and clean the jets out and check the float . It's quite a simple job (about 20 mins)

Magnetic Charge/Sync cable

So it has already started, people are loosing and damaging their cradles already. This is going to create a need for a new cradle or another way to charge and sync the unit.
Ever since I first opened the box to my gear I wondered WTF Samsung was thinking with this cradle. There has to be a better way, and hopefully I have found one.
On the back of the watch are 2 small screws. My goal is to use 2 tiny magnets to hold a cable to the back side of the watch via these screws. This will make the cable MUCH smaller and no longer require a massive case to be carried around.
Current status:
Contacted a few companies and have a few different connectors coming in to see what will connect best.
PCB design will all depend on the connector we go with
V1 case design is already started for the housing. I will be printing a few samples out with a makerbot in a week or so and will post up
I hope to have an entire v1 test unit done within the next week or 2. I would have this done earlier but I have a massive fluid mechanics midterm tomorrow then will be heading out of town for the rest of the week for work. I should be back in town on Saturday and will be sitting in front of the makerbot and a soldering iron all day. Please stay tuned for updates.
Also all criticism is welcome, tell me what you think, the only thing I ask is to make it constructive. If you think this is a stupid idea because it will not work for some reason, let me know and why. I am a mechanical engineer with a concentration in structural analysis. I know only what I have taught myself about electronics so I admit I dont know as much as many others.
***UPDATES***
10/31/2013
Currently working on getting sync capabilities working. I have a feeling Samsug did 1 of 2 things
1. Chip requirement like apples cables to allow sync
2. Power on data line
Either way this weekend I should be able to get the sync feature working or at least have parts on order to do so. First run on the spring loaded contact pins were pretty good, but I am going to need something longer. Once the case goes over the PCB board they will no longer be able to connect with the back of the watch. Here is what I am working with at the moment.

Points for effort !
Got the 1st set of spring pins connectors in. They work but will not be long enough once a case is designed for the unit. Back to ordering more $0.08 1/16" pins!
Try to check the thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2493181&page=5
Pins which You found seems to be very nice and will work well, but regarding the magnetic mounting - check if the screws are magnetic - if they are stainless steel (which they almost for sure are) they will not be magnetic... so this will not hold... the other issue is if the watch has sensors inside they may not like the strong magnetic field...

Depends, not all stainless steel is the same. Depends on the blend. Some are quite magnetic.

USB Dongle

I've never posted here so go easy. I'm not sure how many people still use the LG Watch Sport. But I have something some may be interested in. I bought my watch on ebay a bit ago and the seller said it was an AT&T demo unit but I didn't really care. So I received it and it came in a clean white box (not a retail box) with everything all packaged nicely like it came from the factory. Well one thing I noticed but never really thought about was that mine came with a USB dongle. I know enough to be dangerous with fastboot and adb but don't have a lot of time to troubleshoot. So I can get it to show up in adb and reboot to the bootloader but I cannot figure out the driver I need for fastboot. In my device manager it just shows up as "Android" with a yellow exclamation because there is no driver. I'm going to attach pictures to prove I'm not crazy (once I figure out how to) and also a close up of the part number in case anyone wants to look for it online.

Bootloader unlocked. Any devs want me to try anything?
Where does the USB dongle connect too?
When you open the back of the watch, there is a small connector near the heart rate sensor and SIM card slot.
That's pretty amazing, a USB dongle has been talked about, but never seen in the wild I believe!
Its been done by WiFi in the past, which is slow.
Unfortunately I seem to be the only one that actually has the cable. I posted some pics in the WearOS subreddit.

EDIT: From what I remember the circuit looked quite basic, if we had some hi-res photos and if discthrower could do some probing with a multimeter we may be able to replicate it... I think it may just be a simple usb passthrough, I couldn't make out any kind of converter chip on the board but I couldn't make out any chip numbers I'm no expert either.

Finally someone with added value and common sense! Thank you. We're really missing detailed photos, making it won't be that difficult. Till you posted it here, discussions in regard to flashing LG Watch Sport on XDA were highly theoretical or pointless. I tried searching ebay to no avail. I would buy it instantly.
