Microphone issue - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Having issues lately where the other party will have trouble hearing me with the headset connected or just directly using the phones microphone. They say my voice sounds like a robot and it cuts in and out a lot. I'm not sure what the problem is because my phone is showing full bars if needed the signal strength is -102 dBm 39 asu. I'm currently using slim remix 4.7

Bluetooth Signal Strength Problem

I have tried using 3 different bluetooth headsets with my kaiser and on all of them the signal quality started to degrade if the phone was more than about 2 feet from my headset. I have to hold the phone almost at chest level if i want to have a conversation via bt because as soon as i put it in my pocket it breaks up really bad. Strange thing is that when i turn the bluetooth on at home it asks if i want to pair with my laptop downstairs so i assume its just on the audio side.
Is there a tweak or registry edit to improve the signal strength or is this an inherant problem with bt headsets on the kaiser. I used to have a hermes and that worked fine upto about 6 feet with no loss of quality.
This isnt a problem with sound quality, its signal strength.
PLEASE HELP..

Just tried my headsets again and they are working fine. I hadnt tried them since i flashed duttys WM 6.1 rom so i can only assume it was my old Orange WM 6.0 rom with the tytnII.. No help needed now thanks but if anyone has similar problems with bluetooth distance then try flashing a newer 6.1 rom.
Glad you were able to solve your problem. If you have any more issues, try playing with the bluetooth settings via Shap's AdvancedConfig.

[Q] Since Froyo UG(Cognition2.2) why can I no longer hear calls thru the car spkrs?

The upgrade was super smooth and I am rooted on Froyo. Prior to the upgrade, I was able to connect to my car audio via a 3.5mm connection that interfaces with the cassette deck. Whenever I received phone calls, I could automatically hear the caller through the car speakers. That seems to have gone away. It no longer happens. Is there a setting that I need to change to re-enable that option? I soooo miss that hands free feel. Please help.
Outside of that one small issue, Froyo is incredible. Where I used to end my 8 hour day at work with approximately 55% battery remaining, I now end the same day with 70-75% remaining. Love it!
I have been running the Cog 2.2 Beta2 and have not had any problems with audio output in the car. My car does not have A2DP so I run the music out though the 3.5mm and use BT for phone calls only. When a call comes in my music fades and the BT audio takes over without problem.

Audio out through headset jack on calls is a known issue with the captivate froyo release. There is no workaround i have heard of. You can check the Froyo issues thread for more info.

[Q] Asus Memopad HD 7 572C K007 WiFi Bluetooth interference

Hi all,
I have bought this tablet recently. One thing that does not seem to work, is the simultaneous use of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. When I stream a radio station, it works fine until I connect to my Bluetooth speaker. Then the app loses WiFi connection all the time, and has to reconnect all the time.
I tried other apps, all behave the same. When I use my Acer tablet (same app, same location, same network, same speaker, same radio station etc. etc. ) everything works perfect, so the Asus seems the problem here.
I narrowed the problem down to interference between Bluetooth and WiFi: when I do a speedtest, WiFi speed drops from around 35 Mbps to 5 Mbps at exactly the moment sound starts coming out og the bluetooth speaker.
Is this a known issue, , anyone experience this, how couldthis be solved?
Thanks.

Bluethooth Headset Issues

Love the Note 8 and everything about it except how it interacts with bluetooth headsets. I troubleshooted starting with a few bluetooth devices LG HBS1100, Samsung Flex, Motorola earpiece and car audio bluetooth. Here are a few things I encountered:
1. None of answer call buttons on the headsets will answer calls, even the Samsung Flex does not function properly
2. If you using an internet driven app such as Skype, WhatsApp etc, it is the worse. In addition to the buttons not working properly
A. The call waiting feature does not work when using internet audio or video it disconnects those call and allow the other call to come through sometimes unprompted.
B. If you are using Skype, WhatsApp etc, sometimes the call suddenly drops, battery still medium to full on the headsets.
C. A and B only happens with bluetooth headsets, call waiting function as design with car bluetooth calls and traditional BT earpieces
Im am posting this because a phone with this price tags should have overcome these discrepancies , the company should have come across this somehow during testing hmmm. It was almost a deal breaker but I like having a stylus, beautiful screen , phone design and the note taking features. I have friends that I communicate with overseas but I don't call them everyday or I will just use the speaker phone when Im talking to them.
I came from a 7 plus and all features on the BT headsets worked (Not enough to sway me back to Apple but its just confirmation.)
Has anyone experience these and what was the remedy if there was one Thanks..... or dead I get sent a lemon?
Never owned a Bluethooth. ?

Have been using 2 bluetooth headsets and a Gear S2 watch to answer calls, have been able to make and take calls without a fuss, although I've always used the phone itself or the watch to answer a call. Never used call waiting. I use Viber as well to receive calls and never had a problem and no drops.
I had some odd issues when connected to my Car Blue tooth - I was using Hotspot on my phone to connect my Car's Android Navigation system - listening to I Heart Radio in the car - made a call - call connected - but several times during the call - Blue tooth suddenly disconnected for about 10 seconds and then reconnected.
This happened several times on different calls. I don't know if using WIFI while I was connected to blue tooth had anything to do with this - and I don't have the note any more (I returned it because it was OEM Locked ) should have an unlocked version next week and I will try again. But I saw your post and thought I would share.
My Senheiser MB pro 2 works fine with the Note 8. If there is any tests you want me to perform let me know.
Only thing I noticed today was that if I went out of range, the headset and phone would not auto reconnect when in range again , not sure if this is normal or not.
I have a Plantronic Edge. When I'm on Duo it starts the video call fine and after a few seconds it disconnects and goes to the speaker. So far it only does this in that app or at least that I can tell.
Issue with me is I don't recall how the behavior of my Bluetooth headset was on my other previous phone's, like I mentioned it disconnected when I was out of range then didn't reconnect automatically. Should it reconnect automatically?

Bluetooth & WiFi Issues

Afternoon all,
I have the 512GB US Unlocked Note 9, and I have noticed two problems with the phone:
1.. On WiFi at my home (UBNT Access Points running latest firmware/software) I observe very poor WiFi performance on 802.11AC/5Ghz radio. If I switch to the 802.11N/2.4Ghz radio in the same AP, I get near wireline speeds when running a speedtest (about 175 down and 7 up). On 5Ghz, I barely get 7-10 down. No other WiFi devices have this issue.
2. Using Bluetooth audio in my truck (Dodge RAM with UConnect running latest firmware) I get audio dropouts/stuttering of about 1-2 seconds every few seconds, but this only occurs about 50% of the time. Sometimes it works flawlessly. I have no BT audio issues whatsoever when I pair my iPhone XR to this stereo.
Is anyone else having these sorts of wireless issues with their Note 9? The cellular/LTE speeds appear to be performing quite well and is very fast in an area with a good signal.
Thanks!
-Rob
