I have downloaded a TWRP 2.7 flashable zip. The official instructions on the TWRP site talk about using a .img file, but they don't have a 2.7 img for vs980.
Many threads mention some images are Lokified, others are not, I'm not sure how to install.
This is a new G2 with 12B that I'm going to root with IORoot 25, how can I get TWRP installed on it as well, preferably in same adb session?
Thanks
Is this the right way?
flash older 2.6.3.2 img using Flashify
reboot into recovery
flash 2.7 zip
Is there a faster way to do this?
Can someone please help?

Root with ioroot
Flashify has its own download section, I would download the .IMG file in the app, just to make sure you have the correct one.
Follow directions in flashify.
I just did this with cwm and it worked, it might have the latest twrp to flash in the app.

If you just want the easiest method, do this:
Extract twrp.lok from this thread. (first download twrp.zip...the .lok file is in there) Rename the extension to img. Flash that with flashify. Then flash this in recovery. You should now be on twrp 2.7 loki'd for 12b. :good:
Credit for that procedure goes to JRJ442...i just explained his steps from here.

Will this method work if I already have TWRP 2.6.3.3? My goal is: get to TWRP 2.7 but tried to go into TWRP and flash the "openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.0-vs980.zip", it tells me I can't because it can't find "/tmp/loki.sh" (couldn't capture exact message). Currently I'm on 12B.
thanks

Yeah the official that you tried doesn't have the correct Loki patch for 12B. Thats why it throws that message. All the ones I made for VS980 are patched to work on 11A or 12B. Just click on "This" a few posts up. That goes to my Dropbox. The zip is Stock-TWRP2.7-VS980. Just flash in recovery, then reboot recovery and it'll be 2.7
Or if you have Flashify you can download and install 2.7 through that.
These one click tools worked for me. I went from 12b + stock recovery to twrp 2.7 with just a few clicks. I used it yesterday. Thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2713954

thank you, I have found the solution, I download the supersu.zip file in here:
http://www.igadgetsworld.com/moto-x...unning-on-android-4-4-4-step-by-step-process/
my situation is I have already unlock bootloader , I only need to use fastboot flash the recovery and use get into the recovery and install the zip file supersu.zip .
If you were able to find this forum, you should be able to find a custom recovery for your phone.
Using PRFCreator, I've just created a flashable zip for the latest stock ROM 5.1.1 (C5503) 10.7.A.0.222 & 10.7.A.0.222 Nordic Combined.
The flashable zip will install the followings:
1. C5503 Generic NCB firmware
2. Pre-rooted using SuperSU 2.49 Beta
3. XZDualRecovery 2.8.23
I've tested it on my ZR originally running 5.02 rooted stock LB ROM. I used TWRP 2.8.7.0 to flash it and I just wiped Dalvik and cache so data partition is untouched.
If you're also using Xposed, boot your phone for the first time, then reboot your phone into TWRP again to flash the official Xposed framework (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811, sdk22). For unknown reason, I need to uninstall and re-install the Xposed Installer to run it successfully.

If you upgrade from 5.02 using this flashable zip, then you don't need to wipe data so your save games can be retained.
Will nuts built a new recovery with this fix?

Hi already have. Look at his site under dual recovery and beta.
I have stock 5.1.1 (10.7.A.0.222) installed, and the phone is in its original condition after a factory reset, with no root, no unlocked bootloader, etc. What should I do if I want to have root? So far I could only find complicated instructions involving downgrading to older android, etc. Any help would be appreciated.
Is it possible to flash this with flashtool?
I am unable to install it through TWRP, it finishes installing very quickly without any error, but apparently does nothing.

What's your version of TWRP? I'm using the latest version of XZDualRecovery and TWRP should be 2.8.7.0.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261606
TWRP is from XZDualRecovery 2.8.21.
Its version is 2.8.6.0.
Will try to find a newer TWRP for Xperia ZR.
Actually, the recovery was installed with the whole system image, and I am unable to update it to 2.8.7.0 yet.
I finally managed to update to 5.1.1 with this package by updating the kernel image with TWRP.
Still TWRP version 2.8.6.0 was sufficient.
I try Your zip and not working for my ZR. In CWM i got error with UUIDs ("uuid link to system partition does not exist"). Then I create zip by myself with PRFCreator and all is working fine.

I have no idea why the zip file doesn't work for you guys. But I'm glad you work it out yourself.
I'm on stock 4.4.4, UB, with xzdualrecovery 2.7.... Is it safe to flash this 5.1.1 rom? Or do I need to update the recovery first? Or should I upgrade first to 5.0, then this? Thanks for the help!
Hi guys is there any way to install recovery on z1 5.1.1 on stock without root ?
without root is impossible
yes of course, you must use prf creator and put the relevant supersu and recovery zip files in the respective folders. finally, it will create a flashable.zip file, which you will use with flastool software

Hes using 5.1.1 without root . That means he does not have recovery. How he will be able to flash the flashable Zip from Prf creator when he does not have recovery. So please, understand what hes asking first before answering.
Anyways the answer is NO, You n3ed to downgrade to 4.4.4 or 5.0.2 and root then flash DualRecovery. And look for prerooted 5.1.1 firmwares (flashable zip) then flash to your recovery.
I have rooted my SM-G9730 (S10; Snapdragon; Hong Kong) using instructions from https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s10/development/magisk-root-galaxy-s10-series-t3918699 . Now, I want to build and flash custom Kernel. I am a novice and do not have any idea about how to do it. I found out that the kernel source code is available at http://opensource.samsung.com/recept...rchValue=G9730 . The files downloaded from the link has a 'Kernel' folder with source code and, a file 'README_Kernel' with instructions to build Kernel. I guess the output of following the instructions would be Kernel image file. If I am correct here, then how can I flash the image file? Do I need to do any other step? Please guide!
Thanks!

Move this to Q&A not Roms.To build a kernel you need Linux.
