How To Fix OnCircle Feature Not Working - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Themes and Apps

OnCircle is one of my favorite new features by Samsung. It allows you to converse and send little quick messages and pictures to other OnCircle members. The OnCircle feature is quite like IMessage and FaceTime, but it lacks a ton of features. Even though it is still in it's early age it's definitely a feature Samsung will look to improve with the new S7 variants and the soon to come Note 6.
While there are only a few of us using OnCircle, there are major problems constricting others from using the feature. These problems are on both Samsung side and the carriers side. If your carrier supports Enhanced Messaging and you still have issues using OnCircle then it's due to either a Samsung Update or you might have either changed your phone number or had your phone unlocked/switched carriers.
Here is a manual way to fix it, I've talked to Samsung and they're working on implementing this into an update/app so that if you have OnCircle issues it will automatically fix it like a Macro...
Anyone with any variant of the s6 or s7 and Note 5 can use OnCircle. The problem is is that there are a few bugs preventing it from working... I believe you must have people Edge for any device other than the 3 Edged devices to use OnCircle but i may be wrong. There is an App for less than $2 on the playstore to add People Edge to the Note 5 and S6.
1. To test first go ahead and save your own number as a contact and go to MyPeople and see if you pop up. If you do then that means your OnCircle is working fine and the others either does not or doesn't have a compatible device...
2. If you do not pop up on MyPeople go to your default Messages app: More>Settings>Enhanced Messaging and turn it on if it was off go ahead and try to do the step 1 test if it was on/ still will not work continue to step 3
3. Go to your default Messages app: More>Settings>Enhanced Messaging>Registered Information and make sure all options are checked and test out step 1 again if it fails them go to step 4
4. Go to your default Messages app: More>Settings>Enhanced Messaging>Registered Information>More>Deregister Phone Number...
Then re-register it and once it's registered go ahead and turn on all the required settings like Enhanced Messaging, Profile Sharring, OnCircle etc... then test out step 1 again and it should work this time, if not reboot and try again and if still no go then your carrier does not support Enhanced Messaging. Try modifying your APN, for instance i cannot use Enhanced Messaging with a Simple Mobile APN so i use the T-Mobile APN which works perfectly...
***Profile Sharing allows you to be found by other contacts that have OnCircle only if you both have each other saved as contacts (you can modify these settings) but just like IMessage and FaceTime, your profile data is hosted on samsungs server so go to Contacts>MyProfile and make sure you share only the information you want, and even if you don't share your address, samsung will still have it on their servers so if privacy is your issue, don't fill out this information, and check to see if it was autofilled by your Samsung Account.
If you would like to add me on OnCircle and test out the features, send me a message on Skype and I'll be willing to add more friends to my very very low count of 2 OnCircle Friends, (one's myself).
Feature Request for Samsung:
1. Allow us to have a profile ID to share with others so that we don't have to give out our phone numbers to converse over OnCircle
2. Add more features, video calling, OnCircle Messaging App with cool features
3. Send songs and mp3s and other large files to OnCircle contacts through the Samsung Server rather than Enhanced Messaging
4. Live Straming service for OnCircle Friends and allow others to join via a Web based interface or an app via a private key
5. The Draw abd Send feature is really bad, even if someone spells out a word letter by letter it's still hard to read.
6. Screen Capture and share feature so that we can help each other.
7. Phone number Scanning: if we turn on the Feature, OnCircle will automatically use your phone number and email to add certain profiles to your OnCircle profile, example: Twitter, Whatsapp, Skype, Snapchat etc. I'd like share my social media accounts rather than my phone number.
8. Alarm Share: If both users have it enabled, allow them to share alarms and Callander Events through OnCircle so that someone can make that another person has their Alarm set for work etc. And add a setting that will let you choice that either you need to confirm the Alarm addition/change or it will auto accept depending on the person and time.
Thank you.

able to dial like a blackberry

I woudl like to find an application that woudl allow me to click and dial any number like a Blackberry. That is, from an email, calendar invite, etc.
Same thing then for conference pass codes.
Anyone know of such an app for WIndows Mobile 6.1 devices?
Thanks
You can achieve this most of the time just by pressing call-hardkey if you are somewhere close to a number
I find this rarely works.
There is a setting for recognizing numbers
I want to say it is in the phone options, but I'm not sure. (and dont have my phone with me) but I do remember a checkbox to select for making phone numbers callable (is that a word?) from within sms, emails, etc.
I have looked. I have WinMo 6.1 and there are no options for this.
I wonder if it has to do with formatting?
I looked around and couldn't find the setting either, sorry. I might have been thinking of another device, and I should have checked before posting.
I also have 6.1, and at least in emails and SMS, the phone automatically recognizes telephone numbers and email addresses. tapping on a tel number gives the options of calling, sending a text, or saving to contacts. Tapping an email opens a new message to that address. Having members here from all over the globe made me wonder if country codes outside the US might mess up that functionality. I tried emailing myself some numbers, and when I included country codes, it didn't recoginze the number anymore. I don't know if this helps you or not, but I thought I'd throw it out there. Possibly someone here from outside of the US can tell us if it works for them.

App to only allow calls from certain users, sending all others to voicemail?

On windows mobile, I had an app that allowed me to create a white list of users, and easily set (and unset) it so that only calls from people on that white list would ring the phone, everyone else would go straight to voicemail. Is there such an app for Android?
I used it when I was sleeping, so that calls from trusted people who wouldn't call unless it was important would wake me, while random calls from people who fail to comprehend 'I work 3rd shift and sleep during the day' would go to voicemail. I know individual entries in contacts can be set to ring straight to voicemail, but it's way too much hassle to manually set a bunch of contacts to ring to voicemail, and no help for calls from numbers NOT in my contact list.
Well There is a app called callblock that you either set it to ignore certian numbers or you set it to block unknown numbers... (theres also one for sms too)
You could use Locale like this if your shifts are consistent times:
1. Setup a 'Sleep' situation based on time conditions that mutes notifications and rings.
2. Setup a higher rated 'Trusted Contacts' situation switching the ringer on for calls from your selected contacts.
I used to use Locale like this on my G1 - I'm waiting on manually switched situations (planned upgrade to Locale) to start using Locale again on my Magic.
Just click on a contact and scroll all the way down and it should say send calls from this contact directly to voicemail or something like that

Yeah, like I said, doing this for all my contacts doesn't work, cos I'd be doing it and undoing it every day, plus this is no help for calls from numbers I don't know.

I can't find call block in the market. I searched this forum, and someone mentioned not being able to find call block after upgrading to cupcake. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3860495#post3860495
Have you got the apk for call block?
i cant even find this callblock app....there's no solution?.....for the Iphone i had like 2 apps for it and for the Fuze i had an app for it....wuz good wit the Market....i can't ever find anything....Cyrket n da barcodes are a lifesaver
Grab a copy of Reverse Lookup Plus.
You can choose to "lookup" any unknown call, get caller info, and then you can decide to added it to a blocked-list that auto sends it to voicemail.
I --believe-- this is the Call Block all grown up and renamed.
For my purposes, locale was the answer, once I got it set up properly. I set a condition of 'contact', listing the people I want the phone to ALWAYS ring if they're calling, and set the action to 'volume max'. Then I made sure this was at the top of my list in locale, since higher on the list is higher priority. The locale help has instructions about this, using 'VIP callers' as an example.
I can't seem to find Locale or Reverse Lookup Plus from the market?

The first result is locale. YOu can scan the 2d barcode on the page with your phone, and the phone will ask if you want to open the link with your browser or with the market. click market, it'll take you straight to locale.

I have just sent you an email. Hope to receive the beta invite soon
Two things, One you need to implement pinning of contacts and second It is not able to load conversation history, sends out errors.
Looking forward to try it out!
@wpxbox
Contact pinning added to our new features to be implemented for the final version.
About the second one I'm going to contact you to request more details.
@arkavat
Email us with the live id you used as primary in your windows phone.
The application is darn slow on my HTC Mozart (I had to kill it)
In most of the case it doesn't show the online contacts (it keeps saying that None of your contacts are online when there are more than 30 people online on PC version).
Sorry, I couldn't test it fully since my device got hanged dozens of time. I understand that this is a beta test, but you have to improve your application a lot.
Let me know if you need more information or video demonstration
It's pretty fast and responsive on my Titan.
- The application icon/tile is just plain sloppy looking. I don't know if that's final, but the blurry letters just don't look good.
- The spacing for each setting on the settings page is not properly aligned left-wise.
- The spacing for the text in the about page is also not properly aligned.
- It's not clearly obvious that I can tap on 'view all' or 'view only connected' text in the contacts pivot. Maybe simply underlining the text, or having it displayed in the user's accent color might make it more obvious that it can be tapped.
- I feel like updating my 'status' text should be easier. Maybe having it built into the 'status' page rather than the configuration page.
I'm sure there is more, but it's a great start to a very simple and fast Talk app. Great work!
Sent an email today. Hope to hear from you with an invite!
Drop My Comment on Load Conversation History. I was trying a similar app.
Till now I find it working perfectly fine though you need to work more on GUI. I will stay in touch with you over email.
There really needs to be a way to set "offline".
Away isn't enough, and "unlinking" requires that I retype my password when I want to log in again.
Sorry for that.
Added in the MUST BE DONE list.
I live in Canada. We can not get google voice phone numbers. As far as I can tell, we can only use it to place VoIP calles from the web interface to land lines (accessed through the gmail screen). Is there anyway to use this app to make calls in this way without having callback numbers etc.
Saw that the RC is coming out soon. Any idea yet when the emails will be sent out the the beta testers?
I'm Daniel, another developer of jiTalk.
We publish the application 2 days ago, but it has become accesible yesterday. Today we will send the email to our beta testers.
Greetings.
Looking for exact changes done in this version.

How to overcome the character limit in contacts notes field?

Sorry to post a similar thread to others that seem to have no solution.
I posted this very similar question when I moved to an S-III 4 years ago:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/character-limit-contacts-notes-field-t2440978
I dropped Samsung devices al along in favour of LG, but recently I got a Note 8 from my provider, just to discover that Samsung keeps doing the same weird thing of limiting the number of displayed and editable characters in the contacts notes field.
In the long time gone era of Windows Mobile, it can be fixed in the registry (not a big deal), but I've found no way to do that in Samsung Devices (my S-III question thread explain how LG solution is different, and workable).
3th party programs are either limited or incomplete, and are not a real solution to this stupid limit. Furthermore, some are limited themselves by dessing in other áreas.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, or I will have to send my NOTE 8 back to the store......
Regards.
I got the same problem. I sitched all my contacts (3k+) to Google Contacts and I use Google Contact app on my S8. My contacts are still accessible in Samsung Contact and in Phone app. Everything is good. Note that I also use it in Dex mode that is my main work station.
Mmmmm
Do I understand that you can import your contacts to the phone via Google Contact?
And do you mean your contacts are displayed and editable in full length (notes field included) in your native Samsung phone contact App?
Just sent my Note 8 back to Samsung for this reason.
I have no way to check it now, but would be extremely surprised if this worked.
I would appreciate if you explain exactly how you made it.
Regards.
In the native Samsung Contact app (Phone), note feild is displayed and editable only to 1000 chars.
In Google Contact app (must download), note feild is unlimited. You can also dial from Google Contact app. There is an option to transfer contact from Phone database to Google Contact Database, both online and on the phone. Then In Samsung Contact app you can see Google Contact. But do not edit note feild in Samsung app if over 1000 chars, you'll loose them!
Thanks for explaining.
So you have to rely on Google Contact for Samsung devices NOT loosing your valuable information.... and still if you edit a contact (even by mistake) in Samsung Contact App you will again loose your data....
Mmmmmm
I'd rather stay away from Samsung until they overcome this stupid limitation.
Not to mention that I don't feel confortable having my full contact data in Google hands...
I'm a real fan of My Phone Explorer Sync App: neat, clean, and privacy wise.
Regards

Question How to get +1 to stop showing up on phone numbers from text messages.

I am having a interesting issue with my phone that I cannot figure out. When I receive a text message the system adds a +1 to the start of the phone number it is coming from, I am using the Samsung Messages application but this does the same thing apparently with the Google SMS app and the Verizon messenger app (as I have\ tried these as well), this only happens with a text and if I get a phone call or look in the address book no numbers have a +1.
The reason this is an issue is because my car imports my phonebook as it appears in the contacts and when I get a text it comes up as Unknown Caller because of the added +1 but phone calls do not have the +1 so they show up just fine.
While working on this I have discovered that if I go to the text by going to my contacts then clicking on the persons name it will remove the +1 and it will stay removed as I text them but the second I get texted back the +1 is added. I called Verizon eventually and was told reset settings, reset network settings, turn off assisted dialing. None of these work and there next solution was to factory reset, I don't think this will help because it isn't just my phone but my wife and son who also got the same phone have the same thing happen.
Has anyone experienced this and know how to fix it. I have been through all the phone and dev settings looking for something. I cannot find any other threads online for this except for a couple from AT&T users from different samsung phones years ago with no answer. Previous to this we were using Note 9's and did not have this issue. Any help is appreciated.
edit: The phone is not rooted or modded and is on Android 11 One UI 3.1, sorry forgot to add that.
I think it's under: Settings -> Call Settings -> Other call settings -> Roaming assistance

That is assisted dialing I turned off already and it didn't affect it. It's also just on text messages phone functions don't have this happen for some reason.
The +1 is your coumtry code prefix (USA).
While you can change this in your messaging app you can't change it from eveyone else's phone.
From using it in your car radio might be somethng in your car settings or else in your contact list add the +1 to all your contacts.

I understand that the +1 is the country code.
It isn't from other people's phones it is the way the Ultra is handling the information when it comes to text messaging. I did the following test. I removed my son as a contact in my phone and called my phone from his. The phone number shows up as (xxx) xxx-xxxx. I then sent a text message to myself from his phone while he still was not in my contacts. I have 3 different text applications on my phone right now for testing purposes (default Samsung, Google's SMS app, and Verizon Messeages) and all 3 shows the phone number as +1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx.
The car isn't adding the the +1 to contacts, when my phonebook syncs to the car and I go into it the phonebook on my cars display they show the same as in my contacts "Contacts Name" (xxx) xxx-xxxx but when a text comes in it shows Unknown +1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx.
The issue solely lies with text messages being received on the S21 Ultra as this happens when people on Apple phones or Android phones (multiple brands) text me.
In regards to text messaging in general, i live not far from you ( about 9500 miles ) and I have a different device then yours. Receiving text messages from someone in my contacts list shows up contact name. Receiving other text message not in my contact list will show as country code and phone number. There are exceptions to this in regards to texts from government agencies and google which will show up who are not in my contacts list. I think texts messaging work around the international standard ie: country code + phone number while phone calls may not (unless making international calls). So i don't think it's device specific as it more to do with the networks that you connect to.
In regards to talking to you car ( text wise ) i may be of little help as i don't have a android 11 device and a car to talk to.
Since your note 9 works, and as far as i know latest version is android 10, it could be an issue with android 11. From your test using your son's phone have tried to add the +1 to his number to your phone and see if it's make a difference.
