So after doing some reading I don't seem to be able to find the answer. I've read that there will be "hardware limitations" on some devices but not seen anything on the HTC one. This is the one feature I really look forward too. Any ideas? Or facts? Should I upgrade or stay with what I have?

Are you sure you're not confusing this for an Internet Radio stream? Cause the GT-P1000 NEVER had FM Radio as part of its Spec.
As such it can never receive such Signals.
The GT-P1000 model doesn't have fm radio, I think the radio you have It's a Insternet Radio, try downloading Tune In Radio from the Google Play Store!!!

The other option is that you are on a different model of device because GT-P1000 doesm't have fm radio

seems like we are all wrong.
The BCM4329 chip has a FM receiver.
http://www.broadcom.com/products/Bluetooth/Bluetooth-RF-Silicon-and-Software-Solutions/BCM4329
But there isn't a firmware for it in Samsung devices.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=837691
unless the OP's original firmware really has it.
One in the above thread said a shop demo firmware has FM Radio app in it.
Well its not like I was expecting any miracles to happen, but I did discover something relevant IMHO.
I was planing on switching from the standard XXJPZ Baseband (modem.bin) to VJJR2 (modem.bin), as I hear tale that its:
a) More Battery friendlier then XXJPZ
b) Faster more stable then XXJPZ
Now I don't know if any of that will actually pan out though. Early tests have proven to me that I still have both Data and Voice with this modem.bin. On the plus side the Voice Volume is now fixed at a 100% Hopefully that alone will fix the pitifully low volume in my Navigon App,
Now to the relevant part of this Post. Again I wasn't expecting much to happen. But, I decided to download SpritFM anyway, and of course it crashed pretty hard on XXJPZ. Basically it gave me the standard "No FM found" Error in that cryptic way only SpritFM can do so well.
Now that I updated that modem.bin File however I'm no longer receiving those Messages. The App (on the face of it...), seems to be working now. The problem is I'm still not getting anything.
Most likely an Antenna Problem me thinks. Shame I know jack all when it gets down to the Silicon Level. Cause I think this might just have worked otherwise.

LOL.
Firmware is very rarely an obstacle to real over the air FM radio.
99.9% of the time, the problem is that the FM/BT/WiFi combo chip FM antenna pins are not connected anywhere useful, which is usually through a few cheap components to the wired headset jack.
Usually the FM antenna pins are grounded, quite purposely, which absolutely and completely kills any chance of picking up any signal.
NOUGAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, sort of - I ve discovered that., as well as selling RK3368/PX5 octacore Marshmallow MTCD units, Hotaudio have released an RK3188/PX3 quadcore MTCD unit that runs Nougat and has 2Gb RAM.
This means there are now MTCD Nougat images around, surely it would not take that much for some one to make and MTCB/C version ??

No, the purpose of the thread was to alert devs that there are 3 N ROMs for MTCD, that surely could be modified to get N on MTCB/C.

If you do manage to get them SoM boards set up a upgrade thread and give price with postage. And put pics of the boards up so we can see if our units will accept them.

No one has said that, but it does seem likely because the MTCD MCU units are newer.
This is a custom ROM - the dev chose to do it on a MTCD unit because he has one, that is why there is no MTCB/C version, although I did ask if he may be willing to do one and he said maybe in the future.

Hi.
I bought an Auto Pumpkin Android.
This one:

However the radio app is lame and ugly.
Any aftermarket solution?
Best regards

i already did.
But what i'm looking for is a true FM Radio App not using the Wifi or 3G/4G signal, like Tunein and so.
i have problems with radio app any times dont save the radio stations to the buttons, i use px5 android 8
I have a headunit in my car with Android 6.0.1 from the manufacturer KSP and I have been looking in the forum but I really do not clarify much. My intention is to activate a screensaver and a program for detection of radars so that it run immediately after starting the unit; with this I would already be happy (the unit erases the software in memory when it comes out of sleep mode). I would also like to know if there is any way by software that does not cut the sound of the radio when my car activates the Start-Stop system, the radio does not reset or restart but the sound of the radio yes, I do not understand why !!!!
I have been reading several posts about the virtues of Xposed Framawork but I do not know if there will be any other simpler method without having to resort to flashing the firm with TWRP and other utilities like that. Also I do not know if it is very compatible with Android 6.0.1 and my manufacturer all this. Thx.
Anyone know something about this???:crying:

Maybe you should look for help in the proper forums. This has nothing to do with Android Auto.

How about this one:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android-auto/android-head-units
And, before posting, read these threads:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...mtcb-headunit-wiki-article-knowledge-t3246239
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3246334
You will get at least a minimal knowledge of these Chinese units and maybe you will be able to ask questions that get answers.
