Only if you stream it from an internet broadcast via WAN or GPRS.

What is this XDA Developers or XDA Users? It should be able to write a radio app that gets the radio signal from the device.........
I actually made a program that lowered the frequency the phone is receiving, but due to its digital nature, I only get DAB radio.

The most simple answer is : go to buy a FM/mp3 player with bluetooth enabled and pair it with your O2 XDA mini-S.
This is what i am doing with my Asus.
Why dont you buy a nokia HS 12W bluetooth handsfree it has FM in it and works with the mini s ?
fm radio
you also might consider to buy the htc P3300.
it has fm-radio on board as well as gps
fm radio
this is probably useless and off topic but i did come across this fm tuner application for the Eten G500 described here
http://msmobiles.com/news.php/5193.html
Obviously is useless on my GPS free Prophet, but i did wonder (probably stupidly) whether it might work on a HTC with built in GPS??
I think it can be downloaded from here
http://www.eten-users.net/index.php?showtopic=2634&st=15
fm radio
though on checking that link don't think you can download the file anymore
so instead i've attached it below
View attachment Eten_G500_FM_Tuner.zip
at least, i think i have......
be interested to see if anyone can get this working
OH, what about using my Wizard as a microwave, or turning the camera into a 10 megapixel camera by applying a genious patch... quite funny thread!! LOL

Well, perhaps not 100%, but (and forgive me for being a little ignorant) if you can activate GPS (as is being discussed on the Hermes forum) then would that mean you could also receive RDS?? sorry for the basic lesson needed....

cause the Hermes has a GPS capable Qualcomm chipset (though it's not evident whether it has a proper antenna) but the Wizard doesn't have either that or a FM tuner...

I have a 2006 bmw z4 e85 with business cd (the same as in e83) and my One connects, and I can browse my adress book, but the sound quality is poor and the sound is very quiet, nevermind that all the volume tabs are set to maximum..

I don't have a BMW but I use tune2air, they have these for BMW too, you can stream your music via Bluetooth, even spotify, and use the controls on the steering wheel, but won't show any song info

This issue is very common with older models with the older radios. On the newer cars it should work. However there should always be a fix. If I was at work I could help you out.

Has this worked before because afaik BMW bluetooth didn't support ad2p until recently the only supported Bluetooth profile was hfp which was specifically for phone calls only, my wife has an 06 X3 and that's all we've been ever able to do.

Hi guys,
I have a Virgin Mobile (usa) ver. of the Desire 510, most likely locked to cdma,
i read it has FM radio and NFC, not too sure if that is true. At least I just cant fine the FM radio app on the phone.

The CDMA 32 bit desire 510 has no nfc or radio. It is seller based, like the 64 bit cpu. ONLY GSM carriers that have the desire 510 will offer the 64 bit which has the nfc and radio options.
My boost 510 has fm radio, no nfc though

Yeah, both have FM, but the 64bit (GSM) is the one with NFC. Kinda sad considering all the things that we're said and then turned around and find out completely different, but that doesn't really take anything away from the phone.
Digital compass / Fm Radio
Hi guys,
Could any one link up an APK for the fm radio app.
I just noticed, it does not have a compass. All my compass apps from the play store are not compatible.
thanks guys.

Hopefully you've already flashed a kernel with write-protection removed. This zip contains the FMRadioService .apk and .odex. Drop both these files into /system/app and restart the phone.
I heard a commercial about FM chips in all smart phones, but the carriers don't activate them. Is this something that's possible with a custom ROM or root? Not a big deal, really curious though.

Oops, absolutely my bad. You're 100% correct. I was confusing tunein with another FM based app I had tried when this discussion occurred a while ago.

Nah, I subscribe to Google play music. I don't listen to the radio but maybe when I drive 5 minutes down the road and can t be bothered to take out my phone and turn on Bluetooth. Was just curious as I heard a commercial on the radio talking about corporations keeping the fm tuner off on your phone.
Hello.
In the very beginning of using my mtcb device, there was an option in the settings with auto brightness. It worked with the illumination wire.
I don't know really, what I changes, but it isn't working anymore or let's say, the option isn't there anymore.
What I have done is switching between different Roms and changed a few things in factory settings. Can there be the problem?
The second one: anybody here using a 4g stick? Is it possible? Which model are you using?
I am really unhappy my 3g stick, working with my old parrot Android device, is not working on this one. Which ones are you using?
Thanks for the help

I just ordered a Huawei wingle.
It's an USB-powered Wifi-stick.
It turns on by it self when it get's power, and then it makes a wifi-hotspot, that the radio connects to automaticly.
(I haven't recived it yet, but i hope that it works excatly as i described).
wifi isn't a problem, it's build in. i really just interested in 3g or better 4g

Here's the list of supported 3g usb modems. I've been experimenting with some newer 4g modems but haven't had a lot of success yet.
thanks for that.

I'm sure it has to do with which kernel modules were compiled in. And as far as I know, we don't have any true original android ROMs for our units, so that's not likely to change soon.
