Have been running on 5.0.1 (consumer cellular version). Tried to upgrade to marshmallow following the thread and that's where all problems began. After trying to flash through twrp, lost wifi. Bootloader is unlocked. Now the device is not recognized in ADB/Fastboot either...totally stumped after spending hours on this!! looks like the phone is now an official brick! Any last words of wisdom?
EDIT: painstakingly managed to get back to 5.0.2 stock. Device is root and twrp installed...now is there an official 6.0 version available for xt1064?

So yesterday the 8th i bought the 2nd gen xt1064 off a guy on craigslist, story short... phone is great it came with stock 5.0. Bootloader was not unlocked but i was successful in doing so. Flashed twrp 2.8.3.0 just fine, supersu v2.02 flashed but when i went to open it it hit me with a message that it did not have any binaries or what not and force closed. I tried flashing another one but it got me stuck on the bootloader warning forcing me to downgrade to 4.4.4 (21.11.23) Now stock recovery shows: KXB21.85-23 i tried the ota lollipop update but it fails.
Any solutions on getting around, also what are the commands to lock the bootloader again just in case its a requirement? Sorry for the all the Q's im coming from a galaxy s3.

I wouldn't bother with all the OTA.zip flying around. It's a complete mess, since Motorola published different OTAs for different ROM-versions.
Here are some usefull links to get around
[TOOL]Minimal ADB and Fastboot is prooven to work with our devices. If you are using Linux, just install adb and fastboot through your packagemanager.
Stock Firmware for Moto G (2014) flashable through fastboot. Just in case you want to return to stock.
TWRP recovery compatible with Lollipop.
[ROM][5.0.2][titan][XT1063/64]The Titan Prime ROM is a Lollipop custom ROM (the only one, as of now).
BETA-SuperSU-v2.44.zip as older versions don't work properly with our device.
And forget about relocking the bootloader. There is absolutely no benefit in doing so. Your warranty is void.
Just bought an at&t variant on craigslist, I did a factory reset and tried to run the 5.1 update and I get an error updating, it downloads update.. then it reboots and starts installing showing the android guy working , then about 20 seconds into it it shows the little android guy on his back with a red exclamation and says error and then proceeds to reboot. Once rebooted it says it failed to update. I'm used to Samsung phones .. hoping there's an odin type option to get a stock 5.1 or rooted stock 5.1 on this guy, any headstart info would be appreciated. thanks
Here is the AT&T 5.0.2 firmware:

If you want to unlock your bootloader or root your phone don't upgrade yet! While you still have 5.0.2, root is possible with mofo and unlocking the bootloader can be done with sunshine. After you upgrade to 5.1 you can't downgrade nor root it. If you unlock it now and root it now, then you can keep root when you go to 5.1. But if you go to 5.1 before that you are screwed and lose the ability to do it forever.
We don't use odin. We have a tool called RSDLite. Search for it on these forums and you will find it and instructions on how to use it.

thanks for the heads up.. Glad I decided to wait and not try to figure out that update.. then not be able to root.
thanks
I just updated to 6.0 via official OTA on my XT1064
Bootloader is locked currently and everything is stock
I know I have to unlock the boostloader first but has anyone found clear instructions that they tested on the XT1064 to get root with the 6.0 update?
I found plenty of threads but they mix instructions for various models and versions of android
Im looking specifically for XT1064 and stock 6.0
I bricked my device already once previously and another time the rooting via boot.img caused wifi to stop working
I am not willing to use my device as a test subject anymore.
Anyone who has been able to root stock 6.0 on the XT1064 please help and simply point me to what worked for you
Thank you
Hi guys,
I flashed CM 12.1 almost a year ago and now I would like to give the phone to a relative and I would like for it to have stock rom and to be OTA update-able. I've read dozens of topics and still not sure what are the exact steps to doing this without any errors or softbricks. Some topics mention to skip fastboot of motoboot.img others don't.
The phone had European firmware and it's the dual sim version. I just want it to be as it came inside the box and to be able to update it to the latest version of android (6.0 I guess is the last for XT1068)
I know people got errors after downgrading and making any OTA update so.. that's why I'm asking.
Thanks!
LE: my bootloader is unlocked, it's version 4883 and I also installed TWRP recovery.
Also I skipped motoboot etc.... and after the Stock OTA Update my second Moto G2 is hard bricked very nice. So, please flash 6.0 directly
I heard lollipop drains battery fast so I tried stopping update midway now my stock kitakat is corrupt. Please advice how to install stock Kitkat in my motorola droid turbo xt1254.
Note my usb debbuging is off in phone settings and the device is not being recognised by RDS Lite even though i tried reinstalling motorola device manager. It says update is N/A.
Thanks in advance

At the very least, you have a lollipop recovery on the phone and will not accept KitKat reinstallation. It is likely that you bricked the phone, but not totally certain. Try putting the phone in fastboot for RSDlite. If you can't do that, you may be SOOL. Once you do get a stock ROM on, unlock the bootloader with 'Sunshine', then you can do about anything you want.

There's three versions of Verizon firmware that can be bootloader unlocked via Sunshine. Make sure you do NOT update to the very latest, which cannot be unlocked. Once bootloader is unlocked you can then downgrade back to Kitkat if you wish.
You can't downgrade bootloader, but with unlocked bootloader you can downgrade firmware. With a locked bootloader you can't downgrade anything.
