Cannot flash cyanogenmod 12.1 in S3mini with TWRP - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Greetings. I tried to flash cyanogenmod 12.1 with TWRP in my Samsung S3 mini. Here are some facts:
1. I am currently using a rooted stock 4.1.2 ROM (root with Kingroot)
2. The version of TWRP is 2.6.3.0
3. I am sure that the cyanogenmod I downloaded is not corrupted and in the correct version.
4. Here is what I had done:
A: I backup the current ROM
B: I had wiped /system /cache /data and dalvik cache before flashing
C: I tried to install the cyanogenmod 12.1
D: When it shows it 'failed', I restore the original ROM.
E: I generated a log file
5. I had tried many times but none of the tries went smoothly.
Can anyone tell me what happened? Thanks. The log file is here:

Lol, don't worry. That's because our phone doesn't have a twrp maintainer, so will be always 2.6.3.0 the latest one. Go here, download the 2.8.7.3 zip, go in recovery & flash it. You now will get the 2.8.7.3 version & can flash cm, RR, omni, etc, with ease

Oh thanks, gonna try it out

Hi Guys,
I'm a I8190 user just rooted with vroot and now i need to install custom recovery either CWM or TWRP.
I have some doubts to be cleared before choosing the one among them.
1. Which one is working perfectly/preferred for SIII Mini ?
2.How can i easily install this to my device (without PC is preferred )
3. How can i shift from CWM to TWRP or viseversa after i installed one among them.
Thanks Guys.

1. Both work well, personally I prefer TWRP.
2. If you have stock recovery, you need to use PC for flash custom recovery via Odin or jOdin.
3. From custom recovery you can easily flash zip file with another recovery.

stick to this when flashing anything:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Flashing_Guide_-_Android
also when you flash cm 11 stick to whats written on the developers page novafusion this also means to use twrp recovery for it (currently)
and if the latest nightly doesn't work for you, then try the latest stable that is 23th 3th right now

thanks buddie for that link.
Yeah i read the developers site and read reviews before flashing the ROM.
But as you said if the last stable version is 20140323, the download link is not available as the developer is continuesly updating the ROM.
Can i get the download link from anywhere else ?
Thank you

a lot of CM mods come with their own installers
if you have the cm.zip I don't know why you could not flash it like any other rom from TWRP. Where ever you downloaded it, it should have install instructions
Ok, so I understand that is's possible

The Device must be unlocked and equipped with a Recovery,
you need a ROM.zip and optional GAPPS,the Download Links will you find here.
At first, make a Nandroid-Backup of your existing system!
When you first time flash the ROM or you changed from another ROM-Base,
do a Full Wipe via Recovery, flash the ROM, and then the GAPPS.
Restart to System, configure and enjoy CM11.
RECOVERY:
For Nightly till 20140430
The recent recovery is needed to flash the ROM
TWRP 2.6.3.3 or CWM 6.0.4.6
The easiest way you can flash the recovery hereby
Very Important Information !
A Recovery update with beginning the Nightly-ROM 20140501 will be required !

[Q] Wiped /system, can't recover

I was attempting to install the SlimKat ROM, and I followed the directions by going into CWM and doing a factory reset, wiping the cache, and formatting /system. When I tried to install the ROM, though, it told me that the file was bad. Now I can't boot back into the OS! It just stops at the T-Mobile splash screen. I can still get to CWM, but I have no idea where to go from there. I tried to recover from a previous backup, but it gives me "Error while restoring /system!"
How can I get my recoveries to work?
Just to confirm:
You do have the model Exhibit T679, correct?
What version of CWM did you flash?
The way I've been flashing ROMs:
Boot into CWM
Go to mounts and storage
format /system
format /cache
format /data
Go back to first CWM screen
Go to advanced
wipe dalvik cache
Go back to first CWM screen
Choose install zip
choose zip from the location you placed the ROM
To restore your backup:
Do steps 1-5 from above
6. Go to backup and restore
7. restore from the location you saved the backup

Yes, it is a T679. My version of CWM is 6.0.5.0.
So, I solved the original problem, and now I have a new one... What I found was that I was able to install one of the other ROMs (Mahdi) from my external SD card. Then, I took a look at the SlimKat zip on my computer. As I suspected, the file was corrupted. (The MD5 hash didn't match.) So, I downloaded a new copy, verified the hash, and then tried again. This time, it worked! Everything seems to have installed okay, and I am loving SlimKat so far. Except for one thing... Somehow, I unrooted my device! Titanium Backup doesn't work anymore, and it was telling me it couldn't get root. So I installed Root Checker, and sure enough, I don't have root anymore! I downloaded root-stock.zip and tried flashing it, and that didn't work. Well, I guess it wouldn't, since I don't have a stock ROM anymore?
I'm sure I could flash a stock ROM, and then root that, but then I would want to go back to SlimKat, and I'm afraid I'd just wind up un-rooting it again.

That's what I'm going to try next. I haven't been able to find a source for the su binary yet, though. Just a lot of stuff for SuperSu, which requires you to already be rooted. I'm gonna try to get some sleep and look some more tomorrow. Thanks for your help.

Ok, that ROM seems to have Superuser built in already, do you see a menu item for it when you go into Settings? The instructions seem to note that you have to go into Superuser and check a couple boxes.
Maybe it was a bad install, try formatting the necessary partitions and reflash again. Then go into Superuser and select the appropriate options.
Sometimes I also format sdcard0 after all the other formatting just to be extra thorough then install new ROM per instructions:

Installation
Install at your own risk
- First time flashing CM11 to your Galaxy Exhibit (or coming from another ROM)?
Boot into existing recovery and create a Nandroid Backup!
Install at least ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.4.5 or TWRP 2.6.3.0
Reboot recovery into at least ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.4.5 or TWRP 2.6.3.0
CWM: WIPE dalvik-cache, format: data, system, and cache. TWRP: WIPE dalvik-cache, data, system, and cache.
** Optionally back-up sdcard0 before install and format it in recovery if experiencing install issues **
Install the ROM (without gapps)
Reboot system
After system boots, boot back into recovery and install KK Google Apps.
Wipe dalvik-cache and cache. Reboot.

I can't flash any recovery on my phone

Hi XDA,
Some days ago, I wanted to full wipe my phone before I do a clean install of CM12.1.
I couldn't since cyanogenmod recovery is installed on my phone.
I tried to flash it from my phone directly, thanks to rashr, TWRP manager, or other apps like this, no one could flash recoveries I wanted to be flashed.
Is there a way to surely flash a recovery without using a computer ?

Titan twrp can't load any zip files

Good morning guys,
This is my first time trying to install any CM rom on my 2014 Moto G with original 6.0 Marshmallow system, had a little trouble unlocking the bootloader, but solved that in a little while and after that i sucessfully installed TWRP touch but could not flash any zip file from it (including a super user zip, after executing a "run.bat" file required first). After some hours of trying hard, i used the factory reset from the bootloader and after the process was done my wifi and another features stopped working, so i installed a stock kit-kat rom and got everything back to work, problem solved. Unfortunately my TWRP still can't flash the superuser file, and I really wanted to run some custom Nougat rom on my device. Bootloader still unlocked code 3, device fully working on kitkat, but need some tips on how to get over the TWRP trouble I've been dealing with.
Thank you for reading, sorry for bad english.

What error TWRP give? I think its because your new(android 6) bootloader isn't compatible with many roms. I don't know how to fix it :/ but you need to care, many users have hard bricked their devices like that.
