ATT update(G900AUCU4CPA2) for S5 today 5/3/16 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

Today i got an update on my S5.
Wishing it was Marshmallow
But its Just a Security update with Feb Android Security Patch
Android version: 5.1.1
Baseband version: G900AUCU4CPA2
Kernel version: 3.4.0-5869384
Build number: LMY47X.G900AUCS4CPA2
I couldn't find info on ATT support page though.

do you have the update.zip file that you can share? by default it is a .cfg file but if we rename it to .zip we can do the update via recovery

My active updated today, May Force.

I updated my s5 active yesterday morning.

Can someone on PA1 (or OI5) PLEASE try to locate the update URL so we can snag the file directly from AT&T? You don't need root to get the URL, but your phone needs to be connected to a computer BEFORE you download the OTA file. It basically involves checking logs to find the proper link.
There's several articles out there for finding the Update URL. This would be a tremendous help to forum members overseas who just want stock updates.

Read on another forum that this is the April 2016 security patch FYI.

Just got it on my AT&T GS5 here in the Kansas City area. Got all excited... For about 1/2 a second. Until I read that it is a security update. Sigh. Oh marshmallow, you are awesome on my (significantly) older Nexus 7 tablet. When will you arrive for my S5??

New firmware help?

I have AT&T and just wanted to make sure, the newest firmware that came out I am able to use towelroot again right?
So if I wanted to update to the new firmware with the fingerprint scanner improvements etc
I would have to unroot my phone, try to do the OTA? Is there any other way I can do this? I remember I renamed some files to try and stop updates but don't remember exactly where.
Is there an alternative way of doing it? can someone explain the steps I need to do? and what if I do a nandroid backup through safestrap, can I use this same back up with the new firmware or would I have to start over from scratch?
I can't live without root, I like using on screen buttons on my S5
What firmware version are you currently on? Both the original ANCE and the AND3 OTA can be rooted. Haven't seen anything yet about something newer than AND3.

You already have the newest firmware available from AT&T and yes you can root that. If you start getting update notifications then I would hold off on those until someone can verify if root is achievable. So far AT&T has pushed out an update newer than what you already have.
If they have pushed out a newer update what's the numbers on it. I haven't been on xda since rooting my S5 and was wondering if we can safely update and keep root.

Post a pic of the build please

You said DNL3. We already had DNL1. I thought there was another update on top of the one already sent

I received the same update and my info looks the same as posted.
What was the update? It was just a few days ago, I already had the 4.4.4.
I looked at a different site and found out it was an update to the 4.4.4
They even had a link to the AT&T site to show what it updated.

I think it was a security update

I am unable to receive OTA updates AT&T updates as I moved from US to India.

I have moved to India from US and since then I haven't received any updates to android system software. I am still using KitKat when all discussions are about Marshmallow. I am unable to figure out a way to find offline copies of the updates. Could some body help me out here.
Since you still on KitKat you could root. If you don't care about that, there is a thread on here about updating from .zip file.

you could also flash 5.1.1 using Odin and the files from this thread

My guess is this is mainly a security update much like the TWN June security update http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4-twn-june-security-patch-update-t3407694 and will contain mostly security updates along with some bug fixes. I'll check lg up tonight. 20o is not listed on t-mobile.com yet.

Learn how to check the software version and see official versions for the LG G4.
Starting July 5, the LG G4 received an update to software Android 6.0.1 / Software H81120o available via OTA push and pull-down. This mandatory update improves messaging security.
Note: As of April 11, this update has been changed to mandatory with automatic download and install. If the update has not been completed on a device, it will download in the background and update automatically.
really??? just messaging security.??? i was trying to download 20i last night.. should i download this one.. and could i go back to LP10N??
It's 6.0. Not 6.0.1. Seems like just a security update. I flashed the kdz and rooted it. So far it's running fine.

My upgrade using LG Bridge just finished. Software info still lists 6.0 and the build number has not changed. Patch level is now 2016-06-01, Security Software version is now 2.0 release 2. I forgot to write down the full info from uname -a but it's now

I was rooted on a custom Rom and relocked boot loader and only have dload mode .
LG up tool wont flash because it comes up as Device model unknown because I bricked on a custom rom and not stock.. there has to be a fix someone could save alot of people if tjey would remake LG up to unbrick devices that have the Device unknown message

Just finished flashing and restoring. So far so good. Anyone have a changelog for this update?
I'm currently on PD6. Can I flash this on top of that via odin or are there incremental updates I need to do prior to this? Thanks for the guidance!

Question about updating
Hi, first post on xda.
My phone is an AT&T version but I live in AU, and I want to update it to marshmallow from what it is currently on (5.1.1), and it won't update since I'm not in the U.S.
It's currently on AUCU3BO12.
Can I flash this PG1 without upgrading to anything else first? Can it go from 5.1.1 to 6.0.1 directly from BO12? (According to AT&T's website, BO12 is a bit down the line in terms of updates, there have been a number since).
Edit: Also, which .tar file do I use out of the 4?
Thanks!
Does anyone know the answer to the above?
Finally unbricked my G920 Samsung Galaxy S6 with this
Thank you so much for this. I bricked my phone by stupidly flashing a 5.1 firmware and i've been scrambling to fix it for about a week now. And I couldn't find these files anywhere. Thank you so much

Flashed on mine (BOI2, 5.1.1) and it's stuck in the samsung galaxy s6 powered by android screen.
Already restarted to recovery and wiped cache partition and factory reset from there. Still stuck in boot screen...
Any help?
EDIT: Flashed all 4 files this time and it worked. Only flashed the AP file the first time (which people all over the internet say you only need to do) but I had to flash all 4 and now it works. Thank you!

You just need to load all 4 files up in Odin (AP, BL etc.) and click start.
Make sure your phone is in download mode.
