Hey guys!
I got a whole New P9, EVA- L09. SIM Tray design is only for one SIM, and one MIcroSD.
My problem is, that I need dualSIM!!!
Is it possible to get a new ROM which is designed for EVA-L19, and then try to buy an SIM tray where I can insert 2 SIM CARDS?
Would it work?
Huawei Denmark says, that there is different ROMS, and I need to get a new ROM.
Please help!
ro.dual.sim.phone=true
I'm not a Dev but that's from the eva-l09 build.prop.

this is not possible as the phones hardware itself is one nano sim and 1 micro sd card. changing the rom and sim tray will only brake a perfectly good phone
next time i would suggest checking this detail before buying the phone
Try to get official dual SIM version. Even the Chinese version works.

Hello,
I'm thinking of buying the dual sim version once it's available in my country, but need some advice:
The most important thing to me is the ability to unlock the bootloader and install the newest stock (Google Play) and Cyanogen ROMs, as well as any other kernels and ROMs for One I may like. What concerns me about the dual sim version is that I won't be able to do that, because of the potential different drivers or software modifications needed for the dual sim functionality.
So, can you help me out? Do you know anything about unlocking the bootloader of this device? Do custom kernels and ROMs for the regular One work as expected on the dual sim version?

yes you're right bro ... first of all if you want to unlock the bootloader then its so simple just follow : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2273570
also, there is very limited or i can say "No" support for the dual sim version of m7 ... didnt find any custom kernel and there a few custom rom only ...
so my advice is to better go or m7 single sim or look out some other device ...
Thanks for your answer! I was afraid of that, I really like the dual sim and sdcard support.
Any idea if regular One ROMs work at all (mainly the Google Play ROM)? For example if they work fine with sim 1, but just don't recognize sim 2 and/or sdcard? They would still be usable that way...
And what about Cyanogen mod? It's my impression that it's the best one out there, and it's adaptable, so there might be hope...
in china jifeng forum, there r many roms out there for the dual sim card version htc one,aka 802w,one thing i know is that the kernel code has not been releashed, so some functionalities on 802w rom still can be realized e.g. swipe the logo or double tap the awake the phone. that is all i konw

That helps a little, but I couldn't find the forum you mentioned. Do you have a link, so I could take a look?
BTW, seeing that you have 802w, how's the battery life?

Thanks! In the end I decided to go with the regular one, and got it a couple of days ago.
Thanks anyway, your answers were helpful, I just got tired of waiting for the dual sim version, it was supposed to arrive at the end of september, but it's still not here...
I would like to revisit the question about running a Custom Rom for the regular HTC One on the Dual SIM version.
Has someone tried this?
My favorite Rom is PACman. It is available for a pretty big amount of devices, including the regular HTC One. I would love to hear this is running on the Dual SIM version.
I would get the Dual SIM version only because of the microSD card slot. Think of this what you want, but though the point for me concerning Custom Roms is, that it wouldn't be a problem to not being able to run a second SIM card, but I want be able to use a microSD card.
I would be very pleased if someone owning the HTC One Dual SIM could try out running PACman on it.
yeah it's a really noob question, i buy this phone in a TIM Brazil store, And The phone comes with TIM SIM Card, in the phone info, the system version show "timbr" in its final, i guess its a specific TIM version of the system, if i buy another SIM Card not from TIM And remove the TIM SIM Card, i will continue to receive system updates? sorry for this really noob question.. Again haha.

Question 1: If the phone is sim-locked to TIM inserting a other SIM CARD, will most likely not work :/ Sorry.
Question 2 (Updates) : Yes you can receive updates BUT those updates (If the phone firmware is sim-locked to TIM) need to be sent out by TIM itself.
My Solution: Follow a guide for our XT1068 here on XDA and manually update it. Or ask your Carrier (TIM)

We don't really have problems about carrier locking here in Brazil.
So it doesn't matter if you bought your phone from TIM, as long as it is unlocked, you can use whatever SIM card you want to, and you will still get updates. You'll just have to deal with some crappy TIM apps until you root your phone and remove them.

So I purchased the Huawei P9 EVA-AL10 4GB edition. I was told that this version has the most LTE bands and would be able to work with US carriers. When I try and put my Sim card in I get the message that says only China Telecom sims can be used. Is there a way around this? I know in the EVA-AL09 that any Sim will work. Please help as I now have a beautiful but useless device.
Thank you

Hi all,
Is it possible to force flash the dual SIM ROM on the single SIM phone? Obviously assuming I can get the bootloader unlocked and without using the funky Huawei tool as it costs money as far as I understand.
Also if possible will then the phone receive rom updates via OTA?
Thanks
You can email them in the UK and they will give you a bootloader unlock code [email protected]

thanks, having a single IMEI shouldn't be a problem as long as the two SIMs are hosted on different networks. (at least this is my interpretation).
Would an adaptation of this method work?
http://ministryofsolutions.com/2017/10/huawei-p10-lite-rebrand-convert-dual-sim-free-method.html
Effectively if we can change the oem info file to match the dual sim version then we should be able to flash the dual SIM firmware, right?
I see in another thread even if you do it the dual sim adapter doesnt fit in the single sim variant.

Hi all, any news on this ? just see here https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...de-how-to-root-debrand-remove-retail-t3788326 that THERE IS NO HW POSSIBILITY TO CHANGE SINGLE TO DUAL SIM, SO EVEN IF YOU GO FROM L-09 TO L-29 THERE WILL BE NO DUAL SIM!!! NOT EVEN IF YOU PAY TO FUNKY
what is the reality ? I wrote to funky because on their site they say not usable with Emui 8.0.1 and I have a CLT-L09 8.1.0.128 (C432) fw installed - emui 8.1.0 Android 8.1.0, waiting for an answer:fingers-crossed:

CLT-L09 has same hardware as CLT-L29 can be converted to dual sim with FHP20SingleToDual, no problem.
CLT-L04 has different hardware and can't be converted to dual sim.

Not true. One IMEI can manage two sim. You find The problem is in that countries where there is a sim-lock, like USA and Cina. This because IMEI is locked by operator. In Europe there aren't that problems !

Not true. But maybe you wrong understand. In first period there was no sim tray holder for P20 pro and someone (like me ) tested the sim tray holder of Mate 10 Pro. This works for both sim but it is too longer.
Now you can find the original sim tray holder of P20 Pro both from Huawei assistance and also from international resellers ( find it with google, like ali....)

I wrote many time in that thread : the RED sentence it isn't true ! With funkyhuawei method you can rebrand a CLT-L09 with single sim in a CLT-L29 fully working dual sim ! And I say this because I done this with my P20 Pro ! And many other poeple (for verified direct experience 5 people, but much more they said they did it). So I don't think that only few specimens of P20 Pro have a different hardware !!
I can say that all P20 pro have the same Hardware : both CLT-L09 and CLT-L29.
For your Last ask I must say that Maybe you read wrong because funky made specific tools for P20 Pro with EMUI 8.x.x . That info do you read is specific for older phone, like Honor or Mate

Did you read the rest of the thread? You didn't need to say he/she is wrong. That was from May and later people updated in June saying they did verify the dual SIM tray fit and works. Perhaps it was too early then that not many people knew and later discovered solution.

Too much interesting too loose.

Just wondering if there has been any progress on this? I have rebranded from CLT-L09 to CLT-L29 and have purchased the official dual sim tray but the second sim will not get detected
Would rather not use the FunkyHuawei tool as it perma-locks the phone.
*Bump* - Can anyone please advise? I'd really like to convert my L09 to L29 to enable the second sim. I really don't want to use the funky method, due to serial change and bootloader re-lock etc.
Many thanks for your help.
