Whats up with Moto G and calendar battery drain on MM? I've got a XT1069 and i think this problem started when MM was released, the phone starts OK but after a day or two i notice it becomes very slow, it is always warm and battery don't last 8 hr with light usage.
I looked everywhere and stopping calendar storage does help, but it last a day or two and the problem is back.
I did a factory reset and the problem was still there. Cleared cache too of course.
I now have unlocked the bootloader (another reset) and installed root, uninstalled the google calendar app, restarted, installed it again and the problem is back.
I have 2 google accounts and disabled calendar sync from both and Calendar is still the app that keeps my phone awake the most!
Is there anything else i can do?

Hey
I have a strange problem, since updating the Gear and Gear Manager on my Note 3 my email app (on the phone) is constantly freezing. When I open some emails the email app freezes the whole phone (i see the header but not body of email and screen stops responding).
This was working fine before the update, but could ofcourse be related to something else... Buts its a strange coincidence
The battery is also draining really fast on the phone, it will use 100% in 24 hours with "normal" use, before it consumed about half that! (no special apps/processes in the battery monitor that comes out suspicious).
Im using stock rom (both Note 3 and Gear) with the latest unlocked international updates
Any ideas?
If there are no known bugs I guess I'll need to start factory reset path and re-install everything, that usually helps
Cheers
here's the catch, when i had my phone on 4.1 the Xperia with Facebook feature worked flawlessly, syncing contacts photos calendar etc but now i decided to use it on 4.3 again and problems occured, first it's slow as hell, second i can't access Contacts or messages normaly there's a 10 - 15 sec delay or apps don't respond, the phone heats up fast and the sync doesn't, how to say this stops it keeps saying that it's syncing going but it does nothing. First i thought it maybe because i have a lot a friends on facebook but then a friend of mine has the exact phone and firmware and he has more friends of facebook but he doesn't experience any lag of sort or problems it works flawlessly. These problems a accuring for the past few days. I've tried factory reset, phone repair force reset the phone clear cache etc even left the phone on wifi for about 12 hours to hopefully sync completly ( i know alot of time ) still no hope more hickups and crashes. Also it sucks my battery very fast. Can this be a faulty hardware or ? Any type of help would be greatly appreciated cause i kida like the high resolution photos for my contacts, thx in advance guys
Hi,
I had update the phone to the newest Lollipop update from Sony. At the beginning in the first 2-3 days the phone works wonderfull.Verry snappy and responsive.
But after those first days of joy the problems appeared.
The camera become very laggy. The battery drains in 7-8 hours and the phone is overheating. Even I keep the phone in my pocket, it becomes very hot without touching it.
And if I read something on my RSS feed, in about 5 minutes the battery drains 2-3%
I allready saw many people reported thoes esues and it seems that the only solution is a hard reset to factory default.
Witch I will do, because right now the phone is quite usefull and anoing.
My questions for you are:
1- is there any other method but resetting the phone?
2- how do I backup EVERYTHING from the phone? Contacts I can manage with pcCompanion, but how can I save all aps and their data? Games for instance...I'd like to keep my ingame progress.
I'm new to android comming from 5 years of iphone. On IOS this opertion was really simple due to a full backup on cloud. And after a reset - or switch to a new phone - everything was restored as it was from cloud.
Can I do the same thing on android? I wold prefer using google and cloud.
thanks
Google syncs all of your contacts automatically, so after the phone resets, simply log in to your google account and the contacts will be restored. You can do the same with photos/videos and music using google photos and google music. Google can also remember which apps you had installed and re-install them automatically, but you can't do anything about settings. Those will always have to be re-done manually.
Hi,
Two days back,I bought a used Nexus 6 and since then am having some serious issues.(Mainly 2 serious issues ( 1 partially solved i guess)
ISSUE No.1 - Phone shuts down randomly ( Partially solved)
I used it for an hour in the condition I received and afterwards I decided to do a factory reset to start from scratch.
After the factory reset, the phone started behaving weird. It would shut down at random and would not switch on..
When i powered on the device,it would show "Optimizing apps xx of xx" and again would shut down. The number of apps were never the same.
I tried wipe cache and factory reset from bootloader but with no effect.
An then when I tried after 1 hour, amazingly the phone came to life and instantly I disabled Gmail app(had a hunch gmail was causing the issue as before the shutdown the gmail notifications were appearing and disappearing on the notification bar)and updated Android System Webview.
I continued use for 1 day without any issues and then I decided to enable Gmail again:It crashed again. This time I disabled both Gmail and Android System Webview.
This issue has not reappeared ( But no Gmail on a google Phone..How ironic>>)
ISSUE NO.2 - Phone shuts down when charger is unplugged during charging irrespective of the battery level. This issue still persists and i have not found a solution yet.
The phne has a warranty but I do have a hunch its a software bug.Would appreciate any experts help.PLEASE dont tell me this has a hardware problem..sigh..

Personally, since it is under warranty, and this is not normal device behavior, I'd RMA it ASAP.

If an RMA is not an option I'd flash a stock image. That would truly be starting from scratch as opposed to just doing a factory reset.
Id flash stock and if not sounds like bad battery

After uninstalling updates from Hangouts and reinstalling from the playstore those notifications seem to be working ok (kind of) but nothing else works, no gmail, no outlook, no anything. Went ahead and uninstalled apps, cleared data and cache but notifications are still on the fritz. Every 45min or so the phone will play half of a notification sound but shows no notification. I've turned on an off notifications in every which-way possible and nothing is making a difference.
I am 100% OEM. Am I SOL and have to factory reset or has there been a fix for this that my google-fu has not been able to find?
