Software update via OTA arrived Unable to install because ROOT - Huawei Mate S

I have already asked this question on Italian forum but no one knows me answer
Yesterday on my mate's huawui arrived update via ota CRR-L09C432B177, but my terminal for business problems and for an app I need and it only works with root, it fails to make the upgrade to the new version .
I also moddata TWRP Recovery 2.8.7.0-carrera
Is there a way to do this update?
I read that the problem is the recovery, serving recovery stocks and not the TWRP
I found on the XDA forum CRR recovery stock-l09 .... B145 from having to put in place the TWRP.
I confirm that this is correct and so I can do the OTA update?
otherwise I can put the new firmware in dload folder and perform an upgrade?
That will clear me all my data, and take me back to not having the root, right?

you need to flash the recovery of your current firmware, not the b145 one..
unroot is also recommended before flashing recovery..
in your case i would flash also the stock boot.img aswell (of the current running firmware)..
you do this on your own risk!!!

@cacash
You said you need root? With B177 you can't open twrp recovery. A few guys in german forums bricked their phone with flashing twrp and trying to open it.
I tried it today to, but my mate s ended up in bootloop.
After flashing the B177 stock recovery the phone started normally.
I don't know if there's an other way to root the mate s with B177, but with twrp recovery and installing supersu zip it fails.

The EMUI Update Installer is part of the Huawei Recovery. If you replace your stock recovery it with TWRP, your phone "forgets" how to install updates.
That means you have to flash stock recovery or you can´t use any Update.APP file.
Because of the lack of support for the Mate S, the current TWRP Recovery doesn´t work with every Build. So now you habe the choose between B177 and TWRP but not both.

Let's see if I understand:
1 I should flash the stock recovery by removing the TWRP
2 do unroot
3 flash the firmware again CRR-L09C432B145
Now I should get back everything as original and I could then receive the OTA update.
All this is right?

Switch 1 and 2 and forget 3.
First you need to unroot your phone over supersu, then you should flash the stock recovery.
You don't need to flash the B145 again.
After unroot and flashing stock recovery, the B177 ota update should work.
But with B177 you cannot root your phone! If you need root, you must stay on B145, flash the B321 marshmallow update manually or wait for a new ota update which can be rooted.

Thanks for answers, now having done a long time ago I do not remember how to root to make unroot.
I do unroot directly from supersu? ("Settings" and choose the "Complete unroot option") or can I use the program can be downloaded from playstore "Simply Unroot"?
Then if all this is possible, how do I install the stock recovery?
What program do I need?
I forgot, first install the stock recovery and after I unroot, right?

Yeah you can unroot your phone with the "complete unroot option" in supersu.
For installing stock recovery you need to extract the recovery from your current firmware with the Huawei Extractor (you'll find it at xda) and then flash the recovery via fastboot with:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
First do the unroot and after unrooting, flash stock recovery via fastboot.

Then I downloaded from the site HuaweiUpdateExtractor_0.9.9.3
Now I always downloaded from xda forum "HUAWEI_Mate S_firmware_CRR-L09_Android 5.1.1_EMUI 3.1_05013FSY_C432B145CUSTC432D003_Sweden" which is the only one who found it.
since then I UPDATE.APP extracted file.
I started HuaweiUpdateExtractor, but could not find Huawei's mate and I set Huawei mate (1)
then what file I have to pull out of the present?

question?
I could use the "Create flashable Zip" option
then flash the zip recovery of the stock with TWRP

you don´t have to chose anything in the Exctractor. just drag and drop the update.app into the blank space.
and no, you can´t use the "Create flashable Zip". won´t work. don´t try it. just do what we told you.
open Huawei extractor
drag and drop update.app
right click on recovery.img and extract
flash via fastboot AFTER UNROOT VIA SUPERSU

Meanwhile, a thank you I did everything as you said, and the update has been successful.
But to my amazement the restart I checked the version ...........
I found myself with CRR-L09C432B177 version software
Android version 5.1
Version 3.1 EMUI
But it was not an upgrade to macmellow
Where is the macmellow for Mate S?

Not released. There is just the beta you have to flash manualy.

for extract Mate S FW with Huawei Firmware Extractor use Huawei Mate 7, that works nice.

OTA has come. What now?

The OTA has just come. I have rooted phone with twrp recovery installed.
What to do now?
As I have read the forum, I should from http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-p7/development/recovery-t2811965 install back “Huawei Ascend P7-L10 thanks to XQC”, and that is it?
The phone will be unrooted, so I have to root it again.

I believe that I should flash recovery.img, shuldn't I?
After flasnih recovery I will just start the update.

OK, thanks. I will do the procedure now.
Regards, and thanks again.
Well, the update has failed.
I am informed to go to the http://www.emui.com/motiondownload.php?mod=restore which doesn't work.
I was able to shutdown the phone and to reboot it again.
Apon booting the phone I got the message that update has failed and by clicking on it I went to the update screen.
Looks like huawei is checking wheather the phone is rooted or something else.
What to do now?
Install stock recovery and then update through OTA. You cannot use OTA with custom recovery.
You didnt read update notes ("make sure your phone has not been rooted...").

I have installed stock recovery in the following way:
1. I have downloaded a zip file (* Huawei Ascend P7-L10 thanks to XQC) from [RECOVERY][ Unofficially Open Recovery TWRP 2.8.1.0 ][ 09/11/2014 ] thread
2. I have unpacked recovery.img from zip file
3. As a root, I have used adb reboot bootloader, fastboot flash recovery recovery.img, fastboot reboot
4. Now I have downloaded and started the update
I believe that this is enough.
Do I have to unroot the phone before update?
Is the stock recovery from the twrp thread OK for this update?

Well, I am still on 2.3, but I cannot go up.
After starting the update, the phone boots to the recovery, than:
finding update package
opening update package
verifying update package
instaling update
huawei factory resizing
update failed please try again
I have option to shutdown the phone and that is basically it.

How to check that?
Download full ROM 609 and copy dload folder to SD card. Start install process by holding vol+ vol- and power button at the same time

Let's go in this step by step!
1. Confirm which recovery you have installed, 2.3 or 3.0. If you did not flash official Emui 3.0 than you need emui 2.3 official recovery. Official recovery you can extract from official Emui 2.3 ROMs (you will need 2.3 ROM also for flashing).
2. Flash the needed recovery (if needed).
3. After downloading official 2.3 ROM, open it and check if there is a folder "dload". On that folder should be a file "update.app". Copy the folder "dload" together with it's content on the root of your SD card.
4. Go to settings -> update -> local update and start update (local update) , if local update does not work than try force update.
5. Confirm on the forum
How to confirm recovery version?

Huawei P7-L00 Soft Bricked [RESOLVED]

Hi, my Huawei P7-L00 is soft-bricked I think. I have access to Fastboot mode and recovery mode though, but I think I don't have any ROM installed so I can't get past the boot logo.

This is an image of my fastboot screen. It says Phone unlocked so I think my bootloader is unlocked. Using fastboot, I can flash CWM recovery but I cannot find the correct version for the L00, the version I have is for the L05 or L07.
As you can see It says it is only for the L05 or the L07. Does anyone know a CWM recovery for the L00 they can share the download link to? TWRP recovery does not work on this phone I am unable to press any of the buttons and it renders unresponsive. Or, If anyone has the stock recovery for the L00 I would appreciate that as well.
The problem with the CWM recovery for L05 and L07 is that I cannot install updates for zip files. I have tried numerous ROMs including official and third party ROMs but the same error (bad, Installation aborted) occurs. I believe this is because of the CWM version mismatch.
Also, I have tried to use adb to flash the ROM on, but my adb cannot find my device in bootloader mode, or when my phone is in the bootloop. However, fastboot is able to recognize it in fastboot mode.
Overall, if anyone could provide help with the following areas, I would greatly appreciate it:
1. Find a working CWM recovery for the Huawei P7-L00.
2. Find a stock recovery for the Huawei P7-L00 so I can install an official ROM from Huawei's website.
3. Help me find a way to get adb to recognize my device
1. In fastboot mode you have to work with fastboot, not with adb.
2. Download firmware version you had, extract using Huawei Update Extractor cust.img, system.img, boot.img (recovery.img if you want get back to stock recovery).
3. Flash images via fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash cust cust.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
That's all. Three simple steps. What's the problem?
Or you can download your official ROM, extract official recovery from there and flash it and than flash the official ROM with forced update
Thanks for the quick responses! I used Kostyan_nsk's method and resolved the problem but I'm sure ibeqa's method would've worked just as well, but maybe a bit more time consuming. Thank you!
Hey there, I would have seemed to have soft bricked my phone as well. And apparently, it's says PHONE LOCKED unlike the one that has been posted above? Any advice on how to proceed?
Thanks
P/S: my phone is P7-L10
You could try to use Kostyan_nsk's method as well, but if that doesn't work, you need to figure out a way to unlock bootloader on your phone.

Bazzan
Cant flash cuz bootloder try to flash fastboot but error
you kinda deleted system from phone and other things.. but you need to be able to unlock bootloader. Unlock bootloader first..
I gues, twrp from srk tools will not boot on, kuz its for marshmalow android 6, phone still thinks its nuget android 7, so beter find and instal twrp for nuget.
after that, find properdatafix.zip and instal it in twrp Nuget. reboot in twrp, format your data partition. reboot twrp again..
then you need your phone version nuget update and data zips, put them on sd card, so you can instal them in twrp one after other..
then you shulda be able to boot in nuget android 7 succesfull.
after that, dont play with phone, just again use rolback packages small update.app, to get b300 version, after than you can use 2,9 or 3gb update.app to rollback to mm.
hope you understand, what you need to do now.. ofcorse, this is only if you dont want to pay ~15 euros for dc unlocker, who wulda flash any system to phone. (but if you use wrong system, its can break phone harder)

this method works if you are on marshmallow,I dont know about Nougat;I mean version of twrp and other things
I was on Nougat test-keys as you describe and I tried your method. I flashed the OEMinfo you provide (the box my phone came in says VNS-L31 so I think it was right) and then it told me data partition was damaged and I should fix it. I turned it off and flashed the update.app through dload. Now it won't boot at all. Into anything. Black, completely...
EDIT: It seems like it can access fastboot (it shows up when I type fastboot devices), but the screen won't turn on, nor is there any tactile feeling when I press the power button. I tried flashing system.img, boot.img and recovery.img from the update.app, but it still won't turn on.
what about update_data_full_hw_eu.zip should I download it as well?

Stock recovery for Honor 9 Lite?

Hey there,
I recently purchased a brand new honor 9 lite.
It came stock with firmware LLD-L31 8.0.0.128(C432).
I unlocked bootloader. (Got code with DC Unlocker) FRP was already unlocked.
I then installed TWRP and rooted with Magisk.
So my device has full root access. However I want to update to the new firmware.
Current on my device LLD-L31 8.0.0.128(C432)-->LLD-L31 8.0.0.132(C432)

I have tried the dload>UPDATE.APP method. The install gets to 5% and then says "Software install failed!"
So really I am just looking for a way to install these updates. If it means removing TWRP and root etc. thats fine. I know how to backup everything i.e. Titanium Backup.
I am only asking here because I think I have tried all the methods that I can and I don't want to miss out on the GPU Turbo update next month. Maybe installing stock recovery would work but I can't find it and in Huawei update extractor there is not a "recovery.img" only "ramdisk_recovery.img".
Any help is greatly appreciated
Also feel free to ask me to clarify anything for you.
(This is my first ever post on XDA so let me know if i did anything wrong)
Right as you have TWRP installed on your phone then its easy enough.
Simply go to this forum thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279
Download HuRUpdater and follow the instructions.
Firmware files your going to need are
update.zip: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G2052/g1647/v144104/f1/full/update.zip
update_full_LLD-L31A_hw_eu.zip: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...LLD-L31A_hw_eu/update_full_LLD-L31A_hw_eu.zip
update_data_full_public.zip: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...LLD-L31A_hw_eu/update_full_LLD-L31A_hw_eu.zip

Once you have downloaded the files make a new folder on your SDCard best way is to name it to firmware so in your case it would be
LLD-L31C432B132 .
Then rename the files you downloaded like this: (-> Rename to)
update.zip -> update.zip
update_full_LLD-L31A_hw_eu.zip -> update_all_hw.zip
update_data_full_public.zip -> update_data_public.zip
now place the 4 zips HuRUpdater zip, update.zip ,update_all_hw.zip , update_data_public.zip into that LLD-L31C432B132 then reboot into twrp and install the HuRUpdater zip and follow the on screen instructions.
That should get you back to complete stock. Just remember to Factory Reset after using HuRUpdater to flash the firmware.
As for just reinstalling the stock recovery to so you could use OTA it wouldn't work like that as there would be changes to the firmware that would stop OTA updates, its best to go back full stock.
Normally i would get a new phone unlock its bootloader and root away, but since getting the Honor 9 Lite LLD-L31C432 i haven't done that i have my unlock code ready but i haven't used it.

Thanks so much. This worked, I can use this when the GPU Turbo firmware gets released aswell right?
It should work i see no reason why not however your going to need the new links for B135 when it releases. It also means you need to have trwp installed etc and redo the steps. other then that it should work fine.
Dear friends,
the quoted 3. part of download "update_data_full_public.zip" is the same as the 2. part. Where I can download the right update_data_full_public.zip for Honor 9 lite?
