Hello!
I am new to this forum and i have rooted my xperia z1 (c6903) using this guide
I have not unlocked the bootloader yet
However it required me to downgrade to a lower firmware.
I have downgraded the phone and rooted it but now i want to go back to the latest firmware but i want it to still be rooted.
I dont really know what to do.
Hi all, as the title I lost my Xperia Z1 stock recovery!
I had 4.4 with 14.3.A.0.757 firmware rooted and dualrecovery, and I updated to 5.0.1 Lollipop with PcCompanion. Then my Z1 became pretty slow so I wanted to flash this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z1/development/5-0-rockz1lv1-1-deodex-advanced-mods-t3090064 on my phone, but I recognized I had not any recovery installed! So i flashed the 14.5.A.0.242 Lollipop firmware thinking I'll get back a recovery, but still don't!
How can I fix this?
Thanks

From taking what you have wrote, when you were on 4.4 kitkat you rooted your phone and put dual recovery on, your mistake was to upgrade to lollipop using the PC companion instead of finding a pre-rooted lolliop on these forums, hence the reason you lost recovery, the only way to get it back would be to go back to kit kat and then root your phone put dual recovery on flash the firmware you want from recovery.
hello everyone,
until now I used several roms, like iHackers, CM, PA, slimkat etc and never lost root; today I updated to the newest stock rom, via sony emma, to see all the changes they've made and lost my root access.
is there any chance to get root again without the downgrading process again? I only did it once and this is a long time ago. I am not a highly advanced user but always curios to learn new things.
I really appreciate your help.
data:
lollipop 5.0.2
build: 14.5.A.0.270
xperia z1 c6903
germany
additional question: is xposed already working on lollipop? only had JB and KK so far

If your bootloader is unlocked, it's possible for you to root without going back to Kitkat. Just go to Xperia Z1 Android Development, and look for 270 kernel...
If it isn't unlocked, you have to go back to Kitkat and use any pre-rooted 270 ROM.
By the way, you posted in the wrong place.. You should post in Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!

Sorry for posting in the wrong place.
Bootloader is unlocked with newest TA update. I will look for the kernel, thank you for replying.
As you unlocked your bootloader, you can gain root using two different methods:
You can search for an autoroot kernel for the 14.5.A.0.270 firmware as said above
or if you would like to not mess around, you can also just boot any kernel with recovery without flashing it using
Code:
fastboot boot boot.img
and then sideload the latest superSU zip via adb using
Code:
adb sideload sideload.zip
You can grab the latest superSU zip here
That's the way I personally like the best, as it keeps the stock kernel
Xposed works in parts as far as I know. The installation is still a quite experimental procedure and not all modules may work properly.
Regards, H.
I have an Xperia Z and recently I unlocked the bootloader.
However now I cannot install (upgrade) to the Lollipop Android 5.0 (10.6.A.0.454) from Android 4 (10.5.1.A.0.292).
Please advise on a step by step process since I am not experienced.
