Hey guys, since there's a lot of demand for Slim, I thought I'd build Slim for you guys. As of now it's in an Alpha stage and near AOSP, but it runs smooth
NOTE: THIS ROM IS BASED ON AOSP. THIS MEANS THE INFAMOUS CHIPSET-SPECIFIC BOOT ISSUE IS A THING ON THIS ROM. IF IT DOESN'T BOOT, DON'T WORRY, YOU DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG

It's got.. I actually can't say because right now, for some weird reason the SlimLauncher doesn't have the app drawer button. But yes, it doesn't have much considering they're very alpha.
So the story is that the Slim team lost one of it's core team members (who funded a lot of the Slim stuff like servers and whatnot). After this, Slim had some problems, they've addressed it on their website. Right now, (as far as I know) they are trying to fix up "AOSPB" or AOSP-CAF. AOSP CAF is a slightly tweaked version of AOSP optimized for Snapdragon devices. Most ROMs like Tesla, Minimal, Validus, Flayr are based on AOSPB as it is easier for various devices. (Regardless of what base though, I still have to manually add the exynos code to get the stuff building and running lol). That went a little Off-topic, but anyway, the Slim team is hibernating(?) as of now. [If I'm wrong somewhere, please do correct me]
Also if anyone's wondering why the delay in a ROM release (regardless of which), it's because my S3 had issues and I switched to an S4 for a while because I got a little mad at it. (Don't worry lol, this S4 isn't mine )
@Gokulbalram: what a pie, my dear ...downloading. Hope, you had sunny vacations.
Everything works so far, great for alpha! Only clock settings FC's. Waiting on a few candies as Pie and QS-edit

Oh my...thx for this very extended post lol [emoji2]
Yea I know they had some issues ,as seen on they G+ page,as well development for it was slow and everyone else noticed..well they are still in alpha and N is just around the corner.
Is camera and everyone else important working ? Will definitely try it later on
I tried this ROM, its very fast really fast. but there are some major bugs. 1) it can see 774MB of RAM, we have only 833MB ram and lower ram isnot good for us. 2) heat up. 3) custom actions for buttons 4) google play consumes so much RAM. I'll hope u'll fix bugs. thank you and good luck guys :highfive:
Does this ROM can read ExFAT cards?
NFC working?
Location working?
sorry for many questions but my bandwidth is limited.
@yoahmad1995: GPS-sensor works for me (after a reboot). @jujuna: no heating here, try a slimmer setup. Major bugs is pretty overdressed.
Great! ~ I'll be looking forward for this ROM~
Ah!! Been waiting for it. Thanks a ton. Good going dev.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Ok so I downloaded it through an coffee shop and flashed with mini gapps 19/5 build and its very smooth but here are the bugs that I suffered:
NFC not working (no NFC in settings)
Can't adopt SD Card always says corrupted same is Nameless ROM (I'm doing this to play my heavy games without moving files etc)
for app drawer in stock launcher, I switched to Google Now Launcher which comes with the gapps that I installed so its ok.
Otherwise, ROM is just great as haxynos even better.
A simple way to reach AppDrawer with StockLauncher: settings ..gestures. Define here any gesture...
After I enabled zram which is extremely needed on our S3 and reinstalled my backup apps via titanium backup, it froze and went to bootloop exactly like haxynox.
So I guess its kernel related.
I'll try agni kernel and report back ASAP.

Unfortunately, it still present even after I flashed agni kernel with cache wipe.
@yoahmad1995: Agni is an AnyKernel. You must flash it on the unchanged SlimKernel.

Try not enabling ZRAM.
To be honest, ZRAM isn't "extremely needed".
The same even without zram.
Maybe ASV Level has something to do?
Well actually I really don't like cm roms because the wifi dropping issue. It's really so annoying and they couldn't solve it from cm11 to cm13. I hope Aosp build can be solution for us and cm goes to history. I think they should've accept google's offer but whatever. Thx for the aosp rom can't wait to see it as stable!

I'm telling this out if experience rather than knowledge. But if I were to explain, I'd say that ZRAM requires a lot of Input/Output speeds which is fairly low for data exchange compared to RAM (RAM operates on a far higher speed)

Tired of Themed roms and bloatware? Tired of CM7 based, heavily modded roms? Want something Fast,Stable,Lite and Bareboned but still enjoy Cm7?
Here is your answer for all those questions--> SLIM CM7
Code:
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
I was inspired by this thread to make it for our ace-i too I made this for my personal use but I thought I might share it with you guys too since our device doesn't have a lite rom based on Cm7.
There's nothing special about this ROM.It can be used with any script like Adrenaline Engine or PurePerformances Mode or Fly-on script to boost your performance higher. This is just the first build. Will try to make this even better. But I won't be adding any fancy mods.I will try to add some simple mods in future builds.
Use this ROM and decide what is best for you.BUT, their SIZE speaks for them ! It is only 62 mb,It is based on biletv3's RC4 CM7.
Ram consumption is very Low.It is rock-solid and good for Multitasking and general use
Do not install Gapps.Install only the apps you need.
Bloatware has been removed as much as possible. It is very stable too.Give me suggestions on making this even better (if you want any app added or removed).I will try to add more roms to the slim series in future if you people want them.
All the rightful credits are in the second post.
All the downloads are in the third post.
I really hope this rom will be useful.
Finally,I know this is very simple to make and anyone can do it;I just wanted to share and help out some people who would really want this.:good:
Features:
Reduced the ROM Size to 53MB
[*]Ad-free by patching HOSTS File
[*]Rooted
[*]Added Quickpic.Removed Gallery 3D.
[*]No Bootanimation-Faster Boot
[*]Removed lot of unnecessary ringtones and wallpapers
[*]File-manager included in system
[*]Extreme Bare-bones
[*]Stable-Rock-Solid
[*]ADW launcher
[*]Lite windows phone keyboard (Uses only little rom)
[*]Removed all bloatware
Links ADDED in third post.

I agree with Envy. This is exactly the same as AOSP 2.3.7 except that it has CM7 parts.
Even if the ROM is so smooth it still consist CM7 remaining bugs which make it not stable enough.
Anyway, it might be useful to some users! :good:
Keyboard FC and other options in Dev tools also fc

would be interesting to see a poll request with the age of the users who only appreciate highly-themed roms and don't care about lighter and faster roms
this rom is what it is, thats all
1. Our phone has very less RAM to run ICS or JB in fully optimised manner. So these ROM's slightly fulfil that requirement. As the apps in these ROM's occupy very less RAM of around, 20 to 30 MB only !
2. Due to less RAM consumption, phone tends to be more responsive, smooth and faster !
3. Overall performance increases roughly around, 5 times !
4. If you are a benchmark believer, then AnTuTu scores were also slightly higher compared to the original ROM's
5. These lite ROM's along with any script like Adrenaline Engine, can boost your performance slightly higher.
6. These ROM's can be used as a daily driver, 100% !
7. Slim ROM's have slightly higher battery backup compared to the original ROM's. For me atleast, i.e; with minimal usage of phone.
NOTE - I use my phone only for phone calls and listening to music [A lot ! ]
8. So use these ROM's and decide what is best for you.
Thanks for supporting me.
9. There's nothing great about these ROM's. BUT, their SIZE speaks for them !

This is my personal build and just want to share with you guys here. I'm not a dev, just an Android enthusiast who knows a thing or two. And a flashaholic like all you guys here in XDA.
It's CM12 but built with Linaro toolchain(ROM side) and has some few cherry-picks like Clock-Customization, Navigation bar height option and smooth-scrolling mod options.
It also has new bootanimation and AOSP keyboard swyping gesture.
SuperSU and Viper4Android will be shown on "Settings" page if you are using them.

I may make an F2FS version and multi-ROM compatibility as well with the stock kernel. I'll give it a try this weekend.
Right now though, you can still make it as a secondary ROM. Just make sure you're on latest 2.8.3 twrp for multi-ROM.
It seems I've been very late to the CM12 ROM party hence the almost no-response here, I understand that. But anyways, I'll still continue to update this whenever I have a chance and since I'm using my own build anyway so I might as well always share it.
Next build, another cherry-pick will be added. An option for smooth-scrolling mod, it will be placed in the "developer option" page.
There is another unofficial stock cm12 thread, but don't let that detour your work. Can never have enough Roms. You've only had it posted for a day. Give it time
New build is up!
Synced CM sources on 17-Jan, 09:00AM HKT
Add another cherry-pick(from Temasek git), smooth scrolling mod options:
/**
* Indicates whether to system-wide-override to enable/disable or not.
* 0 = force to enable scrollingCacheEnabled regardless of app setting
* 1 = default is to enable scrollingCacheEnabled unless app specifies
* 2 = default is to disable scrollingCacheEnabled unless app specifies
* 3 = force to disable scrollingCacheEnabled regardless of app setting
*/
You might be late to CM party but you are one of first to publish rom with theme engine. So thumps up for that [emoji106]. Haven't tested it out though.
Looks like CM needs to work more.
In quick settings didn't find much options almost stock one with just the ability to rearrange them. Also no download and upload speeds in status bar.

Maybe that's for devices with external SD card or a non-unified storage setup. So when they move the apps to SD card it will show up there. Not needed by Nexus since it's a unified storage anyway.
Not sure though, so many commits has been merged since I last Synced and I didn't check the Gerrit notes much for all the changes. Many awesome features has been merged, kudos to CM, all credits to them.

Oh, I just noticed one person voted and gave this ROM a 1-star.
I can understand it, but at least take some time to report what problems you encountered with this ROM and I'll see what I can do. The first build has been very solid for me the past few days and this new build today has brought more features and I expect it to be good as well(or better than the previous build). This is CM with some of my personal cherry-picks that I think won't be integrated in CM12.
Please be gentle on voting as it will give different perception to the would-be user in the future(if there's any).
TIA

Eeh.. So many unofficial CM roms and nothing is based on CAF All I really need is CAF CM12 built with SaberMod or Linaro toolchain, -O3 optimizations or JustArchi's Optimizations.

From what I understand, CM has a separate CAF branch and when everything is fine they move it to the main branch(where nightlies and unofficial ones are based from). I might be confused, so if anybody can shed a light about this CAF thing, feel free to do so.? I'm currently lazy searching about it , LoL.
BTW, JustArchi hasn't released his optimization for CM12 yet. I know he is testing privately but hasn't released one yet for public.

thx for JustArchi info. well, actually CAF is stable enough even now, I use Nameless ROM but it's just like CM but with more features, no optimizations.. If You could test it and consider releasing it, it would be great (and well, that ROM could be more original) :good: just look how much AOSP CM12-based roms we have:

Btw, I've also compiled an Unofficial Paranoid Android(Alpha). Those who wants to try it, get it from here -> Unofficial PA Alpha.
It also has the clock customization and nav bar custom height cherry-picks.

I'm seeing quite a number of downloads already for PA unofficial build. I guess nobody else are compiling for PA yet? Or at least nobody else are sharing their builds other than me, lol.
Been with it for few days now and it's been solid. I also flashed Franco kernel with it.
Now jumping to Layers/RRO bandwagon.

I'm seeing quite a number of downloads already for PA unofficial build. I guess nobody else are compiling for PA yet? Or at least nobody else are sharing their builds other than me, lol.
Been with it for few days now and it's been solid. I also flashed Franco kernel with it.

Her man,
Thanks for compiling these for us. I flashed the pa alpha last night and it just seemed like aosp. Did I miss something? I know they are slowly adding features so maybe that's it and also why they haven't released anything official. Thanks again for sharing your builds with all of us.

I flashed it. Works great. I didn't find anything that doesn't work.
The default governor is performance and it gives great battery consumption and high CPU temp but if you change it to on-demand it's OK .
Thanks for your work

How does the ROM and the Camera App Run?
Can somebody test the camera app. That is/was a big problem in most HTC One Mini 2 Apps and I just wanted to know if that was fixed in these ROMS. Also I've never tried LiquidSmooth so it'd be nice to hear how it runs .

I have been running this ROM for the past 2 days and cannot fault it! Everything works perfectly.
I am using the M9 Camera Port from here:
http://www.droidviews.com/htc-one-m9-camera-ported-to-android-devices-running-aosp-cm-rom/
and it is really good, no lag, good picture quality etc. I did not need to flash the resolution patch which is also given there as the picture quality is good without it.
Hope that answers all your reservations about trying this ROM.
Its great to see a selection of ROMs coming for the Mini 2, and that the camera problem seems to be solved. That was holding me back from flashing, as I use my camera a good bit. I am wondering though, if this ROM has the same problem with random Hang-up's during phone calls, or in-call volume problems, as has been reported on the NostromoPop thread?
Thanks

Hi,
I've installed it yesterday and so far I did't experience any bug. The camera is working properly, and also some issues I had with CM and NostromoPop when using Google Play Music do not appear.
I am very satisfied with this ROM and I definitely recommend it!
As soon as I will make a call I will let you know if I have any problem with it.
Cheers
I'm still having problems with resolution and the m9 camera even with the patch.

Do you all leave it on 'performance' or do you change the cpu governor to 'on demand' ?

Which version are you using?
The only one I can find is "HTC M9 P-10082015.zip" which is noted as versoin 3. But I'm still having issues with this one, especially the resolution.
The first one that was put on mediafire is not on mediafire anymore so maybe if that's the one you're using, you could send this one or upload it somewhere?
Many Thanks

I am using V1. I'll flash V3 when I have a minute and let you know how it goes on.
I tried the resolution patch and that made the resolution worse so I reflashed the original and it works perfectly. Strange that V3 is giving you problems.
I'll get back to you.
I have changed to ondemand and battery use and temp is much improved.

Right! Ive installed V3 (without any resolution patch) and it seems to work perfectly.
See pix below: 2 taken on small file size, 2 on large size.
Everything seems to work perfectly.
Hope that helps.

Yes I noticed too and the change is on my to-do list for the next build. Still need to figure out where exactly to change the governor defaults in the source code...

Stop spamming with this Volte! Just use Miui or Aosp!
First impressions:
This is a lively ROM with lots of potential. The dev has gone the extra mile to add features and tweaks to make it stand out from the rest like boot up animation, camera app, browser app, blur background, etc.
It's a nice and different CM based build, I like it!
Thank you.
I have found a couple of problems though:
The camera apps when going into settings> general> power button takes pictures it force closes! And it's now not opening at all! It says now "unfortunately camera has stopped" It's there a solution to this? I've rebooted but still the same!
The Color Control app gives an error "kcal support not found".
Fixing the camera is essential.
Thanks.

You can try any other camera app from play store of this not worked for u then delete camera app from system/app and flash this from recovery.
kcal is not supported by stock kernel so flash any custom kernel that supports it ..
Good luck !

Nice rom, but my front camera not work
Hi,
Just flashed this ROM just to give it a go and really liking it.
Love all the transparency and blurriness all around. It looks great and very polished.
Didn't have any error and love the next camera. I used to use it in my Oneplus One(bacon) .
As this is cm13 with some great ideas, my request would be to include a toggle to switch off the sim cards. I know it's missing from cm13, but could it be possible to port the code from cm12.1?
Everyone's moving to cm14 but it will take a while for that branch to be stable and feature full. For now one needs a stable ROM until we're able to move on to cm14
Great workb from the original developer and those who contributed ( sultanxda, jgcaap, etc)

INSTALLATION
Clean installation is recommended!
Recommended Minimum GApps Package: Nano.
ALWAYS BACKUP FIRST!
Boot your device to TWRP - (Test Team prefers using TWRP-K3 by katinatez.. Other versions, including Official TWRP, may give undesirable results).
Wipe > Advanced Wipe > Tick 'Dalvik/Art Cache, Cache, System, and Data'... then Swipe To Wipe.
IF You Are Coming from Stock Rom: Wipe > Format Data > Type "YES"... then Swipe To Wipe.
Go Back to Main Menu > Reboot > Recovery – (this step will set your internal sdcard file structure).
Plug in your cable to your Device and PC.
Move your downloaded Rom and GApps Package files to your internal storage.
Install > select Rom and GApps (they can install one right after the other with no problems).. then Swipe To Install.
[color=" red"]After installation, DO NOT Wipe Cache/Dalvik – (This Rom is Odexed and will actually make booting longer if you wipe).[/color]
Reboot and Enjoy the Rom!

Coming from an LG G4 to this phone, I can tell you it isn't slow at all... G4 was 6 core, 3gb ram and was rapid. This is juuuust as fast apart from the UI. Maybe you've got a dodgy chip

well it isnt VERY slow, it is just certain jobs or processes are extremely slow, and im talking very slow, because of the cpu
now this particular processes are not visible most of the time but it is stuff like messenger bubble lag when watching yt 720p60, status bar pulldown is barely 3 fps at some times, and i could go on and on
all im saying is that you should try atleast a j5 2015, and youl see how that sd410(64bit) completely destroys sc9830 in any scenario
for instance, desire 10 lifestyle(or whatever) has a sd400 and ive never seen it lag, and apparently sc9830 is a better soc..
also gpu from j3 is from 2008 apparently, hahaha so that definitely doesnt help
also you cant make a rom flying fast if cpu isnt capable of doing all those things :silly::silly:

yes. £120. that is a lot for a slow phone.
j5 2015 costs the same
a lot of better chinese phones cost the same but perform better
there are cheap used phones that perform better
other companies like htc or lg are pretty good and not very overpriced like samsung and apple
im a little ***** innit hahah

So you're telling me the GPU is from 2008????
The T-Mobile G1 was only released late 2008...
Pretty sure its not that old don't make stuff up.
These guys do some really good work on here for this phone. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't still have it. Nougat ROMs run absolutely mint on here. OctOS is super fast without a hiccup. (Most of the time)

yes. £120. that is a lot for a slow phone.
j5 2015 costs the same
a lot of better chinese phones cost the same but perform better
there are cheap used phones that perform better
other companies like htc or lg are pretty good and not very overpriced like samsung and apple
im a little ***** innit hahah

Cheap chinese phones are also not very safe, especially the batteries... Screens are always pretty awful too.

So you're telling me the GPU is from 2008?
The T-Mobile G1 was only released late 2008...
Pretty sure its not that old don't make stuff up.
These guys do some really good work on here for this phone. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't still have it. Nougat ROMs run absolutely mint on here. OctOS is super fast without a hiccup. (Most of the time)

i wish i was joking about the gpu...
take a look at this https://www.notebookcheck.net/ARM-Mali-400-MP2.116279.0.html
it tells you the manufacturing date and list of soc that use it
also opengl es 3.0 was released 2012 so since our gpu doesnt use opengl es 3.0 it is definitely not afrer 2011
Guys, [email protected] suggested 3.0.2.0 TWRP. Is 3.0.2.1 OK? Or should i look for that older version?

anything above 3.0.2.0 should work fine
but if dev suggested one version it probably works best with it
but yeah 3.0.2.1 should work :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
I flashed with 3.0.2.1.

Can anyone share some screenshots?

It's PLA build, so screenshots are useless, because final version of ROM won't look like now
Hi [email protected],
There are many Nougat ROMs (LOS, Octo-N, RR, Palm)
All ROMS working fine in my J320G device, i can't compare which better.
Now, I use LOS ... Im confuse to choose which ROM to use.
Can you make unique ROM each version? So, we can easily to choose which ROM to use.
For example : Original ROM, lite ROM, themed ROM, games ROM, full features ROM, etc
Or give extra short description each the ROM name for example :
Palm Project 14.1 (lite, customable), Palm Project 14.1 (themed) or something else ...
Btw, Thanks you very much
Hi [email protected]
This is first build but also latest ROM from you.
Is it OK for daily use?
You can try ^^
I have a problem..when I use multitasking such as I was moving some files internal to sd and minimize it and open another app first automically stopped his works...and there are some screen flickerings
Sorry for my bad English
