Hello. I'm currently running Vibe UI 3.0 the developmental version, and I just downloaded the 3.5 update. I remember, the last time when I flashed 3.0, the recovery for replaced with the stock recover and I had to use SP Flash Tool to flash the recovery (TWRP) again. At present, I don't have access to a computer (and don't hope to for at least 2 weeks) . Therefore what I wish to ask now is that is there any way to not loose the currently installed twrp 3.0 after flashing Vibe UI 3.5??
PS: I know that I'll have to edit the updater script before I flash. Is there anything else I need to know. Thanks a lot for any help.
Does anybody ever visit this place???
I've seen many people have flashed MM yet not one reply......
Please somebody. Help.
same here I am looking for replys ? no body is free to post a reply
heyyy guys.. greetings...
if you want to update official OTA then you have to go with stock recovery.. and if you want only Vibe 3.5.. then go with VDT roms, Or Peter Udvardi roms easliy flash via twrp
If you are not going to lose root after ota update, then i will suggest to use flashify to flash a twrp image after updating.

Hello All,
I would like to start by saying that i am a huge fan of XDA DEV and everything that has been done here for the android community. I myself am a noob , more or less , so i basically bricked my phone.
I decided to update my viper one rom to 4.3 9 from (2.3 ) and came across zero access to CWR and bootloops.
SOMEHOW... i managed to use ADB as well as tool kits to reinstall a cwm ( after about 100 attempts ) .. and reflash my old 2.3 viper rom.
Now i cannot access my nandroid backup which i made before flashing to 4.3. I am going to try to reflash an older version of CWRM and maybe it will be there.
Furthermore, i would like to know what the proper procedure to upgrade my device . If anyone would be so kind and instruct me, i will appreciate it.
Thank you!
EDIT :::
- I am S-on ( probably makes a difference )

HI, You are NOT bricked. (bricked means non fixable)
TWRP is clearly mentioned by op on viper thread "AT LEAST Twrp 2.6.3.3 required (If you experience issues with Twrp 2.6.3.4, please downgrade by flashing TWRP 2.6.3.3 through the ViperOne installer main menu)
Sprint and Butterfly support is not available on 4.x.x yet. Last working rom for Sprint and Butterfly S is 3.5.0"
Are you on sprint? see above
Also, when s-on, need to extract boot.img and flash it via fastboot (fastboot flash boot bootimg).
clean install imminent for that huge update.
read first page again for better understandinghttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2334294
don't mention "bricked" and will find more help
Hi All, I've rooted my htc one on via clockwork recovery mod.
Downloaded OTA update on the phone (sense 6.0) , come to install it and it fails in CWRM. I'd like to keep the stock rom as it has all my data on it like photos and everything and I cannot be bothered to transfer all over again and install the apps if I put on a rom with sense 6.0.
What can I do? I've tried searching for the answer and would appreciate any advice.
Thanks.
I know its probably been answered before but i cant find any answers.

you need stock recovery for ota updates.

Hi All---
I'm an old-time flashaholic who hasn't flashed in a long time.
However, I'm so sick of the memory bug, that I'm going to try out CM12 on my xt1095.
However, I want to verify that there is a way to later return my phone to stock so that I can recieve the OTA when the fix (eventually) comes.
I can't find a thread that tells me how to do it (on the old moto x you would use an sbf, but i don't see anything about that around here.)
Thanks so much for your help in advance...
1 Making a backup in recovery of your actual stock rom and restoring when needed (with twrp for example)
2 Flash via bootloader with fastboot official rom (no zip to flash)
3 using RsdLite using official rom (no zip to flash)
Cheers
Ps: ota is another thing already discussed here

Any clue where I'd find the official ROM (either for fastboot flashing or rsdlite)? I can't find any links...
My phone is already on 5.0, fwiw.
Thanks for the help
There is a lot of topic about stock roms on this forum, in your settings you have to search what version do you have (see picture) and download that one.
But i don't kno if you're expertor maybe you know what you are going to do. I ask you: twrp installed? Rooted? Why not doing a backup without downloading tons of mb and going crazy flashig 10 files?
That's my opinion.
Last word, search this forum, there is a lot of discussion like this one
Forgot screenshot
I don't have the link but the XT1095 retail/tmobile 5.0 full image can be directly downloaded from Motorola just like the images for the Moto X 2013.
I've gone through a few different files of CWM and none of them seem to work / boot into it. Version 2.3, version 3.0. Both are utter disaster. Only can get twrp to work but then it won't install a working copy of EMUI 3.0.
From what I read only CWM can install 3.0...
I could use a little help here, 5 hours bashing my head against this and still no luck.
My phone is on a continuous reboot as of now :crying:
downloading few files to see if i can go back to 2.3 but at my connection, it will be a few hours, i've all the files for 3.0 so I would really like to see if i can get CWM to work before I go back to 2.3.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
Hi, cwm only works together with emui 3.0. So you have to be at least at B602 to install cwm. That means you have to update manually from 2.3 to 3.0(if you are on 2.3 install the 2.3 stock recovery and update with the three-button-methode to B609 or another emui 3.0 firmware). Now you should be able to run cwm correctly...

I wish this info was more easily accessible, the lack of a solid collection of info on dealing with Huawei phones is unbelievable. I had to learn through trial and error and finally got to have a working phone. I'm just lucky I've managed to get proper stock working on it for now. I do not feel adventurous with my phone for now
Thank you for the advice

Many ppl having issues updating stock rooted rom on this update and the previous one. Better to fully unroot the phone before attempting it. Using the 7.17.1540.21 RUU (see the link in my signature) is a good option imo but will wipe the phone unfortunately. Better to do a nandroid backup before updating (and copy the backup on your PC). Worst case, the update will cause a bootloop and you'll have to flash the 7.17.1540.21 ruu.
Might worth a try to backup your /data partition using twrp (save your backup on your pc), flash the 7.17.1540.21 ruu to unroot and remove any possible modifications, reflash twrp (but do not root), restore your /data backup, reflash the 7.17.1540.21 stock recovery and then try the ota update.
If its possible for you, I would really appreciate if you could share the ota update zip file so I can add the new files in the dev edition collection. To capture the ota zip file, download the ota update but select "install later". once downloaded go to your download folder and you should see a zip file starting with "OTA_M7_UL". Copy it to your computer and upload it (if you can).
u have a point about what u explained to me
i have been playing with android flashing and stuff from long and quite understand things and easy for me
and i didnt understood what happened when last time i got little update and then i had problem and phone went to bootloop
right now i might not be able to flash RUU because of my data in cell and work issues
if there is any solutions without flash let me knw and i cud easily upgrade from ota file
i will try upload and provide u link for it
