I did same as lokopepe but instead of outdated BETA-SuperSU-v2.66, i used newer v2.74-2-BETA-System-mode.zip from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/v2-64-2-66-supersu-mode-t3286120
I can confirm that it works also. Most important is to remember flash BETA-SuperSU-v2.62 first.
On twrp.me I find only the huawei P8, does it work for the p8 lite or I have to find a kirin variant? and what's the difference with a kirin ?

Have you enabled usb debug in developer settings?
Thanks a ton, lokopepe and Bazilli. I can confirm following their instructions works flawlessly on B564. I have TWRP 3.0.2 and SuperSU 2.74 now, all working. You might get a bootloop after installing SuperSU v2.62, but don't worry about it and just install the next one. Should be fine then.
So, noob question time. Once a new system update appears, what would be the safest way to get it? I assume unroot and go back to stock recovery before receiving it?
Can I do full unroot from within SuperSU, or should I use the provided file? Also, how do I revert to stock recovery? I imagine it's a matter of extracting recovery.img from the full stock B564 ROM and flashing that onto the phone?

If the update is a full update package (about 1.4Gb) you don't need to go back to stock recovery to install it. You don't even need to un-root.
As it replaces all partitions with its own images in the full update, it doesn't matter. You only have to re-flash twrp and root afterwards.

Hi everyone,
Just to inform newbies like me, the combo to get into TWRP is :
- Volume (+)
- Volume (-)
- Power
all together at boot.
I'm on C4332B564 but cannot boot into TWRP after install.. how can I do ?
- I just unlocked the bootloader
- I flash twrp.img (3.0.2) via ADB : fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
- The phone stays in the white screen with "Phone unlocked"
- I reboot but the phone goes only in the EMUI eRecovery, not TWRP.
thanks a lot !

I think you need to rename twrp.img to recovery.img, and than "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
After that you go into recovery by pressing volume up + power.
Hello,
Do we need to move eu.chainfire.supersu-1 folder from "/data/app" to "/system/app" to keep root?

How can I know If set. immutable.list is gone or my device is fully rooted???? Since I use rootexplorer to find the file and still appears in /sbin/ folder. I follow all your instructions and files to flash B609 fully rooted
the file in /sbin doesn't have a .list extension - i think you can ignore it;
you can test for 100% by uninstalling some preinstalled g-app like G+, if it's back after a restart you're only 99%;

It worked, thank you soo mush. The rom is update also the root! Im gratful! :victory:
I have a problem me too ...
After B126 - root, B133 - root, I can't root B609. I can't install ADB & fastboot ("adb_fastboot_and_other_tools.zip" or "adb-setup-1.4.2.exe") into my PC. I read it all the instructions, tutorials, but without succes. If I try to root it without ADB, after I start Root Genius - loading Root Genius - restarting the phone at 38% and 64% - stop rooting (sad emoticon of Root Genius).
Is not the first time when I'm rooting the phone; I tried to downgrade it to B133, I put it the "dload" folder on the sd card, again without succes. I'll try to put B602 and downgrade after that at B133 ... I you have some advice, please tell me how to solve that ...

You definitely can get adb to run, there's really no other option if you want to make progress with root.
Did you install Huwaei HiSuite for the drivers; authorize pc connection; install hisuite helper app on phone?
The OTA has just come. I have rooted phone with twrp recovery installed.
What to do now?
As I have read the forum, I should from http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-p7/development/recovery-t2811965 install back “Huawei Ascend P7-L10 thanks to XQC”, and that is it?
The phone will be unrooted, so I have to root it again.

Well, the update has failed.
I am informed to go to the http://www.emui.com/motiondownload.php?mod=restore which doesn't work.
I was able to shutdown the phone and to reboot it again.
Apon booting the phone I got the message that update has failed and by clicking on it I went to the update screen.
Looks like huawei is checking wheather the phone is rooted or something else.
What to do now?
Install stock recovery and then update through OTA. You cannot use OTA with custom recovery.
You didnt read update notes ("make sure your phone has not been rooted...").

I have installed stock recovery in the following way:
1. I have downloaded a zip file (* Huawei Ascend P7-L10 thanks to XQC) from [RECOVERY][ Unofficially Open Recovery TWRP 2.8.1.0 ][ 09/11/2014 ] thread
2. I have unpacked recovery.img from zip file
3. As a root, I have used adb reboot bootloader, fastboot flash recovery recovery.img, fastboot reboot
4. Now I have downloaded and started the update
I believe that this is enough.
Do I have to unroot the phone before update?
Is the stock recovery from the twrp thread OK for this update?

Let's go in this step by step!
1. Confirm which recovery you have installed, 2.3 or 3.0. If you did not flash official Emui 3.0 than you need emui 2.3 official recovery. Official recovery you can extract from official Emui 2.3 ROMs (you will need 2.3 ROM also for flashing).
2. Flash the needed recovery (if needed).
3. After downloading official 2.3 ROM, open it and check if there is a folder "dload". On that folder should be a file "update.app". Copy the folder "dload" together with it's content on the root of your SD card.
4. Go to settings -> update -> local update and start update (local update) , if local update does not work than try force update.
5. Confirm on the forum
How to confirm recovery version?

You are the first until now. To flash the twrp you need to have an internet connection, because the tool before download the recovery and then flash it. If you have made all of this try to delete the downloaded recovery and flash it again (maybe the download has failed). To delete the downloaded recovery you need to go in the advanced options and use the "Delete Files" (top right of the page) button to delete what you want (in this case you need only to delete TWRP recoveries). Someone said that TWRP will only survive for one reboot. I've flashed yesterday that Chinese TWRP and rooted with Magisk. My experience is that TWRP will stay. I've booted today three times into TWRP. Everything seems to be as normal as it should be.

Perfect so the problem is another one. When the twrp is booted for the first time it automatically delete or hide the stock recovery so if you flash the twrp and you boot directly from fastboot to twrp, the twrp will survive but if you flash the twrp and power one normally the phone the stock recovery will be restored. So when you flash the twrp, directly boot in it, from the tool you need to check "And boot it" option to boot it directly after flash.

Not a great difference as you can read in credit in OP. I adjust his work to fit Mater Rs different hardware (only 7/8 files have been changed)

Oh I see, cool. Thanks.
I tried it with normal P20 Pro and didn't work as described.
I removed lock password and fingerprints. Booted to Download mode and flashed this TWRP version. I rebooted holding volume up and get in to this TWRP version. Now, I booted to system and set my lock PIN and fingerprints. Back to TWRP to check if it could decrypt. I doesn't.

In twrp if You have pin or fingerprint don't decrypt. I wrote that when You go in twrp You must enter without any secure system (fingerprint, pin or path)

Alright I'm planning to get a Mate RS, once it arrives, I'll test on GSI roms. I imagine if it works on P20 it should somewhat work on Mate RS :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
Anyway enjoy the holiday and grazie mille

You should get it before 22/07/2018,after that date Huawei will no longer provide bootloader unlock codes, so no more modding.

I sadly won't be able to get it, the location I wanted to purchase it from, sold out their current inventory :/ Shame they are enforcing this anti development process on users.
There is a new update, how can I apply this new update to my device with twrp
the recovery work with last update?

the place of the files on internal storge or by otg
Hi, I've upgraded my emui to 9 and I lost my root but I have managed to root it using the old method that you side load magisk onto it which is a pain when you have to use a pc. Does your version off twrp decrypt it with all security switched off or would I still need to sideload magisk. Thanks in advance
Internal storage decryption = NOT working . I removed all lock before flash !

I doubt someone else's oeminfo could fix your device, at least not on kirin970 devices.

Prerequisites:
Knowledge of OEM unlocking from Developer options, adb, and fastboot
Knowledge of QPST in case you encounter bootloop, so you can revert to a reliable stock ROM
Unlocked bootloader (from here)
1) Get your bootloader unlocked, if you haven't already.
- Visit https://www.zui.com/iunlock
- Enter the IMEI1 (Second number when you call *#06# with the phone)
- Enter the Device ID from the Bootloader/Fastboot (Hold VOL- and Power, while device is off)
- Enter your email and captcha and set the checkmark to acknowledge voiding your warranty.
- If you get an error saying that your IMEI1 is wrong, put in a sim card and wait a few hours. If it still doesn't work, write an email to [email protected]
- In the developer settings in android, enable usb debugging and oem unlock.
- Flash the sn.img file you receive with fastboot (again, hold vol- and power while the device is off). Command is 'fastboot flash unlock sn.img'. You need compatible usb drivers, qualcom drivers and adb/fastboot to do that. Use google or write me a PM if you have trouble with that.
- execute 'fastboot oem unlock-go'
- This allows you to use fastboot to flash custom system/boot/vendor/vbmeta images

Edited out from original
Wipe Data and flash Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_08.18.2019.zip
In order not to encrypt Data in the future, install Official TWRP immediately after installing updates. Install > Install Image > twrp-3.3.1-0-jd2019.img
Install GApps
Note: I do not know if the 11.5 update relocks the bootloader. It doesn't lock the bootloader.
I had bootloop from OpenGApps. 4PDA post advises to use BiTGApps. You can install Google Play Store from the built-in Lenovo App Center and that's what I did.
Haven't tried disabling dm-verity and forceencrypt.
Good job, my man, I'll check it out tonight and prepare ourselves an updateable package for people coming from any rom to avoid the hassle of going through all of that. As soon as I get it working will release a new TWRP for Android 10.

Nice job man, so the update works as it should? I'm patching the images and will upload a full ota update to make it easier to move between Pie and 10. Regarding recoverys, did you test any twrp? Any decryption working? What about this official twrp, does it actually work? Thanks for the files man, this will make everything much easier

I've been using the phone on 11.5.111 for a couple of days now.
I flashed both the 3.3.2 TWRP of @wzsx150 and the official TWRP and they seem to be working. I didn't turn off encryption so it seems to work well.
Happy to have helped in a small way. Thank you for your hard work!

I tried unlocking 2 Lenovo phones. The first attempt had sent me an email, but the second attempt did not. The unlock procedure went through though. So I tried changing the link provided in the first email http://cdn.zui.lenovomm.com/developer/lenovoboot/xxxxxxxx/sn.img (xxxxxxxx - serial number of phone) and it worked. This might not work for you though.
As for the OTA, I really am not sure... Probably
