[Q]How to OC ALLE-L21 and how much 6.0 - P8lite General

Hello.
Anybody know how to OC ALE-L21?
I need custom kernel? How much?
I have a stupid mate, and I need to show him a lot of numbers in antutu... I'm not 12y boy Men's pride, you know

Well, i'm not a specialist but i would say that you can't get much bigger numbers on AnTuTu. And if you could it would make system unstable and heat alot and make much bigger power consume.

I know that. But idk about it. I need it for 20 mins and I don't want to damage it. :/

If you have 6.0, tell him let's fight in a speed test, screw AnTuTu....real scenario performance only

The Huawei system is hardly to mod, it's why we are poor in development projects

i really dont know how to do this very well so pardon me if i screw up, i made this kernel with stefan gundhoer's bases, i didnt do many modifications, kernel is essencialy the same, just with my personal clocks on every part of the phone, the name speaks for itself, and though my phone can run it, many o2x's out there may not be able to run this, needless to say this doesnt kill phones, but anyway use it at your own risk

if you decide to try out this kernel, make sure to run cf-bench a few times, its the best way you have of knowing if it really is stable, when it comes to stability testing, cf-bench is the way to go.
Please could you tell what differences does your kernel has over the original build of Stefan's?
almost forgot. i will post benchmark scores for the non bielievers very soon

yeah buuut, to be honest, i just did another version, i wasnt very confortable with the temperatures my phone was reaching, somehow gueste seems to heat up more than etana by a lot, but we cant compare, 2 completely different builds. why dont u make us a 1556 mhz version? id love it

i already did, raise the oc limit from 1504mhz/1325mV to 1556Mhz/1350mV
it doesn't seems instable or more heat. it can handle this, of course im not using this at default only in xoc mode
but im definetly not reccomended to raise the sdram freq above to 350Mhz. it can damage your hardware! the memory is very sensitive. maybe for a short time it will work really fast but long time cause irreversible damage.
the max gpu freq is 400Mhz
the max avp is 300Mhz
the max vde freq is 700Mhz
if you go above that levels you risk the potentital hardware damage.

49,863 on STOCK KERNEL running FireKatv2 ROM!!!
Almost 50K on STOCK Kernel!!!!
Anyone break 49K on stock kernel? State your ROM you're using too...
This is all for fun, but has anyone hit 49K on the stock kernel?
I've tested all the available ROM's on the other N4 in my household and none has has hit 49K except, FireKatv2.
Show me! :good::good:
100% Stock rom and Stock kernel no root
I dont get it. I have been on a quest to make my phone better since the note 2. I always hit XDA and tinker and learn as much as I can but sometimes I see scores and I see people really excited about the "speed increase and battery life improvements with new roms etc, and I dont get it because for example this is my score without any work on the phone at all. My battery life is about 7.5 hours screen time with gps on and sync on all the time. Screen set to auto. Dont get me wrong I am a lover of modding and hate all the bs that carriers and sammy puts on the phones I am here because I love to work on my phone but I see no real difference right now even maybe I slow the phone down if I do anything to it. Whats going on? I remember on my note 3 I was able to see some improvement on my benchmarks over stock (not by much) and a little better battery life but again not a huge difference. Also I thought I should mention that on echoe rom I was able to score 24 to 25,000 on quadrant clocked at 2.2 ALL THE TIME I once even scored 27,000 when I was overclocked at 2.5. How come I never break 26,000 even tho I am clocked at 2.7 now. Also why am I scoring so high over modded phones
That's an excellent score! Well in your case it just proves that the stock software isn't terrible. It works....Simple as that. As for the modded peeps with custom ROM's, a lot of them have so much crap on there apps wise and have it heavily tweaked with wanam/xposed where it is really weighing down their phones.
I also have a theory about the CPU's in that they are not all created equal. Remember with the Note 3's there was a prompt in the dialer where you could go to a secret menu to see what type of processor you had. I think it was from 0-7 or something and the closer the number was to 7 meant you had a more efficient CPU, but not friendly / "as tolerant" to overclock as oppose to someone with a number closer to "0" which meant that it was more power hungry and more tolerant to over clocking. If you search for it you'll find what I'm talking about. ...
Anyway, I think we have the same thing going on here....where some of us just happen to have stronger CPU's. It's just like car engines.....not all are the same as every one of them have their own unique character. I remember when I got my AMG C Class and my buddy had the same one but a year newer. He used to smoke me (stock) where I had intake/exhaust/flashed chip. I just didn't get it. Sometimes you just end up with a [email protected]$$ CPU coming from a good batch LOL.
Another example is microSD cards...you can buy the same brand / type and all, but will always have different results. My Samsung 64GB PRO is faster than my other Samsung 64GB Pro that I have in another N4. Same phone, same chip...different speeds.
You have an awesome piece. Great score! I can't wait to break 50K's on a stock kernel!

Oneplus announced release of OOS 3.1.4 fixing ram and display issues

Looks like it is being released to reviewers first then to us. I'm excited to see what other tweaks are included and how it performs after that update. Although my screen seems perfect and I've changed my ram limit to use all 6gb, it will be interesting to see how the world reacts.

Nobody has demonstrated that. I'm willing to bet that it conserves battery life because fetching an app from RAM is far more efficient than having to reload apps all the time.
Yesterday, with the ram fix, I got over 5h SOT with heavy multitasking. If that's the battery being impacted, then I'll take it :good:

I don't know. If it doesn't have any impact on battery life and snappiness, then I would probably welcome it. However, I barely use more than 6 different apps on a single day, so I wouldn't even see a difference.

Don't worry, no offence taken. A regular day would look like this:
phone, hangouts, chrome, inbox, whatsapp, camera, spotify - sorry, that's already 7, but I don't use the camera nor spotify (only in the gym) everyday. Most used apps are hangouts, chrome and inbox. I'm a pretty boring user but use my phone a lot.

Ah, I can see why the 6gb wouldn't be that important.
Do know that chrome uses a lot of ram! Every tab is an app. So 7 tabs is 7 apps
I've never been able to max out 3GBs of RAM much less 4 even with a 64bit Android OS. OnePlus added 6GB of RAM and USB C solely for the bragging rights, which explains why neither are implemented properly. I would have bought the OP3 if it didn't have either of them.

I'm all for updates, and glad they're pushing them out quickly. Honestly though I'm perfectly content with the current version. I think the screen looks great, I don't notice any over saturation. And while I guess putting more of the RAM to use would be a welcome thing, I have yet to experience any kind of slowdown at all. I guess I'm kind of like Derdjango in that I use my phone all the time, but only a select few apps. Maybe closer to 10-12 depending on the day though.
Battery should be more efficient with multitasking, and a camera upgrade is badly needed as sometimes camera got buggy and stucks while clicking the pics.

I can see why people are calling USB C and 6 gb ram as a gimmick but if it's giving me a future proof phone, I will take it. 2 years back 2 gb ram was more than enough and today 3 gb is considered as a baseline. With 6 gb ram at least I will have options to keep this phone for few years even if it fails to manage RAM properly. We all came to XDA to learn how to tweak with our devices after all and it would be better to respect OP's decision of how to manage their OS and take the tinkering in our own hands.

Here is a screenshot where you can see only 1Gb unused out of 6Gb. 5Gb used for system, apps and cache. There are a lot of apps opened/cached (nothing crazy). Only 1 game in memory (candycrush).
The other screenshot shows battery life under this load. I must say, I'm quite surprised.
I think many people complain because they were hoping that less memory would've made phone cheaper, but I doubt that there would be much difference in price. I like 6Gb for the future proof as mentioned earlier. It can be used right now with build.prop fix or upcoming OTA. I hope that Google builds system that can even better utilize it in the future.

OnePlus cheating Benchmark apps!!!

it's reported that on a test on the 3T it was discovered that OnePlus now targets benchmark apps by name so it scores higher , that's not good to be honest, the device is solid and rational users don't need this, I admit it's nice to test and see your device high up the ranking but only when it's done organically ,
that said this appears to only be introduced on the N Roms (including betas)!

it's a software thing not a device thing, the N rom has the "feature" so it affects both 3 and 3T...
not saying the phone is bad, i love, i'm saying it's not needed... some companies did so in the past, but it's now over so why do it, the OnePlus brand in general wasn't built on Benchmarks.

403 error when i click that link
Yeah just read the article I was annoyed that oneplus would be involved In something so stupid when this phone is an awesome device, I don't see what they would have achieved from even doing that.
People do this all the time themselves. It's the same as "intelligent" profiles that switch depending on application and load.
If this happens for games then whats the big deal? People say it should work for all apps but i dont want my cpu going through battery just because I have my clock app open. Sure there should be a setting for it but still they see this app as a power hungry app so they give it juice, any other app which doesn't need this power just doesn't need it.

The difference in performance is very small with these cheating tweaks. Personally I don't really care about the cheating at all, I love this phone and it's features and performance.
I haven't installed a benchmark app in years and not about to do it now. I'm only interested in real world performance.
This is one reason why people don't trust Benchmark scores.
People put way too much importance on benchmarks anyway... They are largely meaningless, but you see dozens of threads of people trying to tweak kernels and all sorts of stuff, to get an arbitrary score in a meaningless app because they think it gives them bragging rights.
Benchmarks are for kids. Real world results are for adults.
Check out op's explanation on that
Seriously? What about i-creap? How can that i-**** could be nr.1 in benchmark?!?
If our devices are effectively overclocking to achieve better benchmarks, sooner or later the OS will have to turned down the SoC as the temperatures will get too high if the benchmark is ran over and over again.
If you want to know the true benchmark of your OP3, I suggest running it over and over.
is this thread necessary?
lel for this type of discussion.

Low Multi-Core Geekbench Score?

I noticed Geekbench 4 Pro was free for a limited time on Play Store, so I downloaded it and ran a benchmark.
Device Status;
-OOS 5.0
-Stock Kernel
-Magisk 14.5 with IOS 11 Icons, and Greenify4Magisk
My Geekbench benchmarks were lower than the OnePlus 3! Any clue how this happened?
Why people give so much importance to benchmark ?
Now that this app told you these results, you gonna hate your phone ?
Live your life with your phone, what's matter the most is your experience, no the what a 3rd party application tells you.
Thats just a benchmark not a real world usage thing. If u believe something like that then xda is not for u. Only those who don't knkw abt xda would think that benchmark is everything

Thats just a benchmark not a real world usage thing. If u believe something like that then xda is not for u. Only those who don't knkw abt xda would think that benchmark is everything

First of all, hardware degradation exists. I'm not going to hate my phone just because it's benchmarks are low, I'd like to know WHY this occurs. THE TECHNICAL SIDES OF THIS ANOMALY. Yes, I know my experience is what matters to me, But I asked this question to understand why and how this happens. I didn't ask a solution for this did I?
Lmao, who're you to tell me XDA ain't for me? I asked a legitimate question in the "Q&A" section. I don't lose trust or faith in my device since my benchmarks are down, I wanted someone with the technical know-how to explain to me why the benchmarks differ from a less power SoC to a higher power SoC.
Clearly you're not someone who knows anything about why this happens, and stop wasting your time telling people your opinion of what you think benchmarks represent. I asked a legitimate question, and that's my right on XDA.

Ur daily usage performance is being degraded also?
Or is it just benchmark being decreased?
Look at my benchmark its much lower than urs. Bt its my phone is performing just like it used to besides this numbers also. Its about experience with the phone nkt numbers ok. So dont be all about benchmark
