Hi,
Is there anyway to enable\add the DT2W feature?
Thank you.
Unfortunately i think that is permanently removed from the stock rom. I have tried to search through Quick Shortcut Maker, but no success.
might need a custom kernel to implement this..
Not only this, but compared to Mate 8 we also don't have network speed indicator, no Autostart permission settings, no Gorilla glass, no Quick charger out of the box? Why we don't have these features? 550€ for useless Leica stamp on the back of the phone... [emoji23] [emoji23]

That's how the world rules :cyclops:
Anyway I don't miss the dt2w future as the fingerprint reader is enough convenient
Still sucks that we don't have tap to wake, this option needs to be there - end of story. And I hope they include it with an update like they did with mate8.
The flip case/fp sensor does a good job though. Almost never miss dt2w.

Nexus 6 Doubletap To Wake
Description
Enables the "double tap to wake" feature that the Nexus 6 shipped with.. It requires root, so you must unlock your bootloader and root before using this. I am offering it for free to members of xda-developers; you can find the apk below. If you wish to donate, feel free to download it from the Google Play Store for $0.99 (USD):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.codechron.n6doubletapunlock
If you wish to view the code or build from source to verify that nothing mischievous is going on, you may find the code on Github. Note that the code may be slightly messy; most of my development experience lies elsewhere.
https://github.com/smskelley/Nexus-6-Tap-to-Wake/
Video
@techfanatic9 was kind enough to make a video demonstrating the installation and basic use of this app.
Caveats
Google's built in implementation of double tap to wake isn't perfect. It's likely why it wasn't enabled out of the box. Some users have indicated that if their device has been sleeping for a while, double tap to wake isn't always reliable. It is very unlikely to cause harm to your Nexus 6, but extensive longterm testing has not yet been done. Additionally, this is unlikely to work on anything but the Nexus 6. By downloading now, you are accepting the liability if something were to go wrong. Please let me know if you run into any issues or have any questions.
Changelog
Version 1.2 - Mostly bugfixes.
Enhanced error checking.
If a non rooted device opens this application, it should no longer crash.
Small formatting changes.
Version 1.1 - Persist through reboot.
Settings now persist through reboot.
Changed name from "Doubletap to Unlock" to "Doubletap to Wake".
Updated Icon. Doesn't look amazing, but it's better than it was.
Updated some text.
Version 1.0 - Initial Version
Implemented the ability to turn on or off Double Tap to Wake
Dope! Testing right meow

You, sir or miss, are an amazing person. Coming from having the g2 and then the g3 I'm pretty accustomed to the knock on/off. Thank you for getting this out there on the swift tip.
Thanks, I am coming from the G3 and I still double tap my nexus at times since I'm so used to it. This works perfectly, I wonder why google took the feature out?
Just tested and works. This feature is essential since the phone lacks infrared sensors like the X. Nice work!

I have created an app for the Nexus 6 which enables the "double tap to unlock" feature. It requires root, so you must unlock your bootloader and root before using this.
I have only tested it on my device. I wouldn't expect it to work on anything but the Nexus 6. It is very unlikely to cause harm to other devices, but know that by downloading it right now, you are accepting the liability if something were to go wrong. Please let me know if you run into any issues or have any questions.

I dunno, but there is a commit in aosp that specifically disabled double tap to wake in HAL, for shamu.
Possibly to avoid pocket double tap? Or random double taps on accident.
If you reboot your phone, it breaks. You have to re-enable it again. Just letting you know.
it would be cool if you could double tap and wake the screen in ambient display mode
It doesn't take the proximity sensor into effect, so if your pocket double taps your phone, it will wake up. Next to my buddies OnePlus. If you cover the proximity sensor it won't double tap to wake.
This will wake no matter what. Just an FYI.
Works great for me. Thank you very much @naxir now the Nexus behaves like my G3
Thanks for this! Any battery impact?

THANKS OPS, you da shiz. Tested and works flowlessly.
Works great as a very first release. I'm sure that you have more in mind to implement but very nice surprise to wake up to.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Thanks. Also coming from G3, I would tap every time like a reflex. Thanks again.

so now i got my mi8
well have to say im not imprest
1 no face unlock option (only if u change ur location to india)
2 now that i got face unlock to work it good damm dont work wen i have my glasses on bummer
3 there is no procent in batt
4 it seems verry laggy beside op6
5 only 1 color for led
My face unlock works without any location info. It works fine, also with my glasses on. But is not really secure imho, so i just use FP wich is almost instant.
There is a battery percentage but you have to swipe down once. Perhaps Miui 10 allows it to be next to the notch.
I have no lag at all.
Face unlock works fine here, never had to change location for it, works even with sunglasses on and of course in the dark (thanks to IR).
Battery % is available in MIUI 10 without pulling down notifications.
Lag, never seen.
LED-color should have been known if you've seen the big LED-thread.

1 You have a fingerprint sensor, what are you talking about?
3 Yes there is, pull down the status bar.
4 The phone costs 100€ less than the OP6 and offers pretty much same specs.
A SD845 phone can't be laggy, it can eventually be less snappy when compared to a phone which pretty much has EAS built in. Paying 100€ more for a software feature than can possibly be ported is silly unless you have money to throw ( at which point why'd you buy a 450€ phone and not a 600-800€ one )
5 Oh my god, a one-colour notification LED, the horror.

There is NO so called "global ROM" out there for the Mi8 yet...

Are you on some old dev rom from [Firmware] Xiaomi Mi 8 / Mi 8 SE [DIPPER/SIRIUS] [Auto updated weekly!] then, seeing you are on 9.5.1.0. Us others on Chinese roms are on 9.5.9.0. Wich could explain issues with faceunlock and such.
Xiaomi themselves have not released a global version for the Mi8/8SE yet, so it's odd that that thread offers globals.

I guess the seller opened up the box and installed stuff like Google Play for you including a early global update not available to customers. Maybe that's why there are some things not working as expected, like lag or feature issues.

After installing pie build 108, I noticed that Android finally installed a text selecting zoom lens like iOS. Very useful.
Now a week later, it's gone!!
Anyone have any idea how to get it back?
That was the only thing where I thought iOS was clearly better than Android.

The P20 Pro camera app works just as well. There is a variant for the Google camera app but it's nowhere near as fluid as the pro one.
I have no need for the Google one personally, besides the odd gallery blip, it's perfectly fine..
Hello,
I just updated my P10 plus from Android 8 to 9. I noticed that status bar icon's positions are mixed. I guess, they have been placed there because of notches on the Android environment but my phone hasn't got it.
I'd like moving wifi, cellular and volte icons to the right corner of status bar.
How can I set these as i desired. Thanks

This is a "feature" of android 9. Wifi, cellular and volte icons will be on the left side. There is no bug and you can't change it.

It's not a bug but not a feature also, it was the solution that Huawei opted for their phones with notches, it shouldn't be like this for the P10/plus and mate 9 but unfortunately Huawei thinks that this is a good idea, which isn't, it's a total mess in my opinion
Not only Huawei... My wife has Nokia 8 and it is exacly the same.

I disagree, since Android pie, Google moved just the clock on the left side, everything else is the same, and Nokia phone are Android one devices, so stock android, so just the phone is on the left(and notifications as always) but Huawei kept the phone on the right and moved the phone signals, wireless and others on the left which is a total mess. Just my 2 cents

Hey guys,
my mi9t was dead recently and i'm in the market for a new cheap phone. I resisted realme for a long time due to color os until someone pointed it out that the new realme ui is better than miui, so i am going to give it a try and stumbled upon how cheap the x2 pro is given its spec.
Well since specs arent everything and there are many little things not covered in reviews, i would like to ask if
1. it has AOD and is it customizable
2. Does it have screen off hands off ok google, i use it a lot
3. since it is using in display fingerprint sensor i made the mistake of not backup-ing the resist partiotion in mi9t making it almost useless. Do i have to do the same thing and is it bootloader unlockable? i saw quite a lot of custom rom available and thats kinda good
4. is there any small things i need to know like build quality, lagginess
Thanks
It's a good phone overall. I am using CN version, however I recommend you get the EU version to get full gapps support.
Yes AOD on realme UI is fairly customizable. You can choose what to show and the clock. Display format and style. Beyond that not really.
EU version has the all google apps as far as I know but please double check.
Bootloader is easily unlocked. Rest i am not sure.
Built quality is superb. Battery 0 to 100 percent in 36 minutes. No lagginess with stock. Pretty fast boot due to UFS 3.0 (not all variants have this so pls. be careful when ordering/buying). People say cameras are ok and not great. For me upgrading from LG V20, they definitely are better. Also you might have to disable smart power saver for apps to work correctly i.e send notifications pop ups etc. Maybe that's only for CN version.
I hope this helps.
