Confirm first if its a software problem by flashing a new ROM and trying out different Audio Engines. If that does not work then it is most likely a hardware problem and the only solution is to bring the phone to Sony or to your local black market to get it repaired.
Thanks
Thanks very much I will get hold of sony see if they can repair it as its still under warranty

May be hardware problems, then go to repair it in Sony Center under warranty.
Hi. I've got an Xperia Z here that I managed to get a good deal on because it doesn't play sound from the loudspeaker. Everything else works absolutely perfect including the headphone port. I've tried putting the board in another z and it still refused to produce sound through that loudspeaker too and another board in this z made it play sound. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this? I know when stuff like that happened psps years ago they had little fuses you could bridge but I can't find any info at all about the z motherboard.
For anyone that's interested it turns out it actually is playing sound but at an extremely low volume level to the stage where you can just barely hear it if you hold it right to your ear.

Hi all,
I have the original Xperia Z 6603. It is upgraded to android 5.1.1 now and I have been using it for a while. Overall it works well but the loudspeaker volume is practically inaudiable. I can barely hear it unless I hold the phone speaker right up next to my ear. I'm just wondering if this is something anyone else has/is experiencing?
I'm wondering if it's a hardware or a software issue?
Thanks
i have same problem with it
I thought my xperia had some speaker issues.. but yeah i observed this after 5.1.1 update

Use any custom roms. It will give you more sound to speakers. Or try some audio mods

try this mod. I'm using it since KitKat. Loud crisp stereo. It's the most non intrusive sound mod

Try on Google play - alsamixer - download.
I installed the official Cyanogen 12.1-20151212-NIGHTLY-yuga on my wifes Xperia Z, when she use the phone and I speak to her the sound from her microphone is a bit crakcing. Not as clean as it was with the original Xperia android version. Also if she use the the big speaker when we talk it is very hard to hear what she is saying.
Also in the big speaker it crackles.
Is there any way to fix this?
