I just installed FireKat Rom and my internal storage is already full how is this possible? tried to install a app and it says it cant cuz its full what gives?
in the storage settings it says 506mb available space but when i plug in in my computer it shows 16.4gb available anyone know whats up and a fix for this?
anyone else having this issue?
ive already tried clearing the dalv and cache but still have the same issue.
do i need to make rom slot 1 bigger in Safestrap?
do i use stock slot instead in Safestrap?
currently searching on the net for a fix so far nothing, is this a known issue?
If anyone can help ill be sure to give a thanks and id be forever in your debt TY in advance
i had the same issue what i did was make a nandroid then use another custom slot and made the memory storage larger .. then recovered the nandroid to that slot and problem solved.. i kind of realized that because it has a multi boot thing every time you set up a slot you are basically making the full operation memory and storage while reserving space for more custom slots... once i recovered my nandroid to the larger customer slot i deleted the old one and i have been fine. inever used nandroid before then so i was very happy at how everything returned to normal without losses. i find it always curious that no one really answers this type of question.
so
nandroid back up if you have already set up and got things going
setup custom rom slot 2 adjust the sizes and activate that slot
recover the nan droid to that slot
then you can delete rom slot 1 that doesnt have enough space once you feel as if the poblem has been solved

Hello,
I have searched for a solution with no luck.
I had been cruising along on Safestrap 3.04, flashing almost daily, when all of the sudden, no backups. When I select backup, set the backup name and slide the slider, it goes to the backup screen, lists the backup folder location on the bottom of the screen for about 2 seconds, then just goes right back to the home screen of Safestrap.
I am running .246 and I know that I have enough space on my SD Card for the backup. Since this problem started 2 days ago, I have since uninstalled Safestrap and upgraded to 3.11. The problem still persists.
I have been flashing since my days with the Eris.I would like to think I am not making a "stupid" mistake. But, maybe I am.
Has anyone seen this before?
Thanks in advance.

I will do you one better I am working on Bionic using Safestrap 3.11 right, well A it all of a sudden reverted from booting ROM Slot 1 which it did multiple times all day yesterday fine to booting only stock ROM right so I wondered if the user deleted wrong files. When I look System.img and Data.img are there, but anytime I boot in to safestrap and set boot to ROM 1 it changes over stating ROM slot 1 then I restart the phone and it boots right back to Stock with the safestrap splash stating Disabled. I have tried a lot I tried booting to stock re-rooting the phone un-installing and re-installing safestrap [went in to app removed safestrap then removed the app and then put it all back]. STILL NO LOVE.
Then I go to run a backup of ROM 1 which it runs and everything looks fine [aside form it not finding a cache.img file] and I watched it progress through and generate MD5s the whole bit right. Well when I blew it away and restarted [ROM slot 1] I went through both internal storage and the external SD and neither had the backups [safestrap folder is there but only 2 files the active ROM slot file and forget the other].
I have also noticed though anytime I go to flash a Custom ROM to a ROM slot even though in install from SDCard has a selector to move between internal and external storage either option I choose only will list the Internal SDCard contents ONLY.
ALSO, have not even seen a way for me to select the external storage when creating a ROM slot which everywhere I read it is supposed to give you the option to use either now. Seeing as how the user has a fast 12G external SDCard I am not really interested in the internal storage, but would love to find out why it just stopped using the Custom ROM slot 1 after multiple restarts had it running fine and now it just reverted and will not allow me to set it back again.
Anyone want to give any of this a shot? Again this is a VZW Bionic using Safestrap 3.11 I am working on for someone else.
I've been looking all morning, but nobody can seem to answer my questions. I apologize if this has already been covered, or if this is the wrong location.
I've got a Motorola Droid Bionic & I was able to get CyanogenMod 10.1 installed by following their instructions:
http : // wiki. cyanogenmod. org/w/Install_CM_for_targa[/url]
I am BLOWN AWAY by the speed and polish of this ROM and am looking to make it permanent. However, I have some questions:
1. I'm currently using it SafeStrapp'ed (custom rom slot 1). When I create the ROM area, it takes away the space from the internal SD card. What is that space used for? App installs? (Currently its only 1,2, or 3GB choices)
2. If I use SafeStrap to replace the stock ROM, will the SafeStrap restore be able to put everything back? My phone is running the 4.1.2 build.
3. Will I be able to use TitaniumBackup to restore the older Camera app to see if that will make it work?

1. Motorola had the great idea of taking the 16g of internal storage and dividing it in two; half for the opertating system, the other half formatted as a permanent SD card, and it functions as such. SafeStrap creates its slots in this internal SD card. When you connect your phone to the computer, you may have noticed that two drives/volumes are mounted. One is your external, one your internal SD card.
2. Not sure what you're asking. When you activate a different slot and flash a new rom to it, the phone is running off of that partition of the internal SD card. The stock rom is untouched. If you have different roms in different slots, the roms don't have anything to do with each other. If you're asking about wiping the stock rom, then you're looking for trouble.
3. I'm not sure if you can restore the old camera, but the new camera works wayyy better than the old one imho.

The camera works smoothly. More attractive than the stock camera, but the pictures are very grainy. And I've heard there are issues with video. I'm looking for the same solution on the same phone. Its a very nice ROM, except for the camera. I also like how well gsm functionality has been entergrated into settings. Makes it finally feel like the world phone it was built (not hacked) to be.
So just a quick run down of the what happened. I am rooted with safestrap. I had the slimkat rom installed and I have a nandroid backup of my slimkat rom and stock rom.
I tried to use the app called internal to external to swap my internal and external sd so I would have more room (stupid because I didn't know what I was doing). First I copied all the files from my internal storage to the external sd per instructions including the safestrap files(Probably part of my problem). Then for those familiar with the app I selected the sdcard and sdcard-ext for the first two options and sys/dev/block/179:97 for the third option where it says select the sdcard at the system level. For the mount option I had unmask=0000.
Anyway I hit the swap button and not much changed. I checked storage and it showed that the internal storage was clear but it still only said 2gb were available. I then rebooted and it was stuck in a boot loop. Its pretty messed up no but with much playing I can still sometimes get into safestrap, but when I look in the rom slots it says there is 0 space available internal. I have tried to do wipes but it says it can't wipe cache. Right now it is active under slot 1 but if I try to activate any others it crashes. I tried to restore my nandroid but it fails. I can still move files in file manager though.
Is there anything I can do that might help? And would restoring with rsd lite even help at this point? Thanks for any ideas!
Ok so it a crazy turn of events it actually booted to stock jb and is still rooted but it is still pretty messed up. In files it says that the internal has 0 free space but I can still open it and see its files. It won't save pictures because it says no space is available. See pictures. I am going to try to leave it on so it might be a little easier to work on the files. Is there a way to unflip what ever I flipped with that app?
So with it booted back up I installed the external to internal app again and played with it some more. At first I had though I had made it worse because it said the SD card was the internal and the external. But I rebooted it and after a series of wipes and restore attemps I was able to restore my stock and slimkat backups. Everything looks good except I has a flashboot error every time I reboot but I think I might have found the a way to fix that also. Thank you Lord!
I just have a quick question. I have a Samsung Galaxy Exhibit T599n and running Beanstalk 4.4+ rom. I am having a few issues with the rom after a few month, such as random reboots, issues with PC connection (Phone only runs in Charge only mode, and phone does not pop up the option to use charge only, camera, or media mass storage modes when I connect to PC) and also no longer connects to Kies.
My question is, if I re-flash the SAME version of the rom that I have installed (I have the most recent version) over the current version I have installed, will I lose my apps and settings? Just want to know what to prepare for if I reflash. Should I do that and get to keep my apps and settings? Or is a factory reset necessary to fix my errors?
Do a factory reset that should do it .. if not it might be hardware problem.
EDIT: You can use Titanium Backup if you have root acess to backup all your apps.

Excellent, thank you.
One other question, I had a problem with this last time I did a factory reset. I have my SD card partitioned to install my apps on there (Phone only came with 1GB internal, and would only hold a couple apps) so my SD card is 32GB, with 8GB partitioned to install my apps on. I remember having trouble with them last time I tried to flash a new rom and ended up having to reinstall Beanstalk from scratch and completely wipe the app partition as well.
Ok soo if i understood , you rom that you gona flash on your 32 gb sd card and flash from that also you can get app link2sd i think its called which let you transfer apps to sd card, correct me if i am wrong.
Code:
I already have it set up that way. I have the rom installed, I have the 2nd partition on my SD card, and have the apps linked to it with Link2SD. But, I last time I tried backing up roms that were installed on that partition, I have a bounty of issues. When I went to reinstall the apps, the files were still on that 2nd partition, there were dormant files left over everywhere, so when I'd try to restore the apps from backup, I got a plethora of errors and the rom began crashing. Just wondering if there's any way to backup and use roms that are installed on that 2nd partition using Link2SD?

I see, well since you have only 1 gb of internal storage for use i dont think i can help you with that.. because backup itself take a lot of space and not sure if you can make it to backup on your 2nd partition.
Or you can try transfer your backup files to your PC/laptop and delete everything then ty doing it and transfer back to phone after.
so lost!! please help!
hello there
i have the galaxy s3mini GT- 18190N
uk resident
carrier T-Mobile
android version 4.1.2
kernel version 3.0.31-1436784
ive had the phone for some time now and obviously internal space has became a problem so i looked around the net and it seemed that the first thing i must do was to root the phone....
i rooted with the main intention of being able to put my apps into my 32gb extsd card
secondly to perhaps upgrade the OS to say lollipop
thirdly to maybe try out some of these custom roms ive read so much about.
so i did root the phone using kingroot app, this seemed to help with the speed of the phone/reduced lagging and such but not with internal memory.
i then looked around for a solution and the general answer was to install link2sd and app2sd.
i installed both but had no joy due to no 2nd partition on sd card.
this led me to downloading rommanager (which apparently can create a 2nd partition on the etxSD) well this is when i realised my noobness knew no bounds, because for the life of me i cant seem to be able to do it lol
i looked around again and read as much as i could in regards to creating a 2nd partition on the extSD but again have not found a clear (complete and utter noob proof) guide to do this so am now stuck in limbo
ive read so much this last few days about flash/roms/internal sd/internal phone memory/external sd/nands/backups/backdowns/backflips ect. that i feel completely lost.
i understand this is probably a very tedious request to you more educated folk but what i would like to know is:
1 - can i return my phone to stock settings? (what it was like before i rooted) will this delete all the changes ive made and apps ive downloaded? and is this the best idea? to start all over again from scratch? if so how?
or can i download a custom rom that already has these settings? by settings i mean the ability to move my apps to the external SD? if so, how?
im really sorry for being a pain but my brains gonna explode.
please help
thank you
anyone that can help me please
I had your same problem twice. I just forgot to set the new partition "active".. Did you already check if the partition is primary and active?

hey thanks for the reply!
erm.... how would i do that exactly?
ive downloaded rom manager and tried to create a second partition using that, but that doesnt seem to work either?
i am close to just giving up to be honest, got a 32gb sd card and it just sitting there gathering dust while my internal memory is sucked dry of any space.

You can create and manage partitions with your pc, you just need an adaptor and than you can use "MiniTool Partition Wizard Free" that is a free partition manager tool! :good: Right click on the partition and then "set active" (both partition are primary, but one fs is EXT4 and the other one is Fat32, set active the ETX4 one) :good:
