SM-920T stuck on logo screen - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I messed up
Tried to unroot my N5 and ended up bricking it.
I dont have original backup (pc formatted) so i tried flashing another 920T ROM to it but it keepos failing.
When i flash Noble_Kernel_Auto-Root and philz_touch i get a pass on each. Just trying differentways to get in.
I try sideloading and adb says success but nothing happens on the phone.
I've already done a factory reset so nothing to save here, I just want to get it up and running.
I've done quite a bit of reading on here but i know i need help.
Using Odin 3.09, 3.10.6 &.7
Any help appreciated.

Why didn't you use the recovery to make a backup so you could easily restore it when something like this happens?
Download the correct firmware for your phone and then extract it so all of the files are able to be put in the slots on Odin (BL, PA etc etc) because you have to flash them like that now.

Thanks for the reply. Newbie dumbass move i guess. still learning.
Question...when i extract the files, will i have to load them individually to their correct slots or do i just select one file and it auto populates ?
On another note, i managed to sideload a zip just now but nothing came of that.

You have to put them all in the respective slots individually but at the same time so they flash 1 after the other..
Try getting the firmware from here.
https://samsung-firmware.org/model/SM-N920T/
Also, follow my guide here but use your firmware and not Verizon!

Ok, so I'm back......after trying several things which i'll list step by step for someone else who may be frustrated
I got the zip you linked to but i couldn't get the individual files for loading. all i saw was N920Txxxx.md5 and it kept failing when i hit start. (was loading it in AP)
I then deleted the .md5 extension and it became a .tar in Winrar format.
I extracted the files and got the sboot.bin to load in CP, this got a PASS.
Still stuck on logo after reboot.
Next i loaded the .tar file in CSC and Voila ! Wrote, got PASS, phone rebooted and now works fine.
My hat off to you MrMike2182 :good:
Now i'm going to look up how to clear the Knox counter.

Bootloop after installing stock on top of CM9

Hi all,
I am trying install the stock rom P7310XXKJ4------2011 October----P7310XEUKJ4-----UK/Ireland on my P7310, via odin
It seems to be successful, and then reboots, but then gets stuck in a boot loop. I can access recovery mode and download mode. I have tried this twice, what am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance

Go to recovery and do a factory reset. This will delete everything but it should fix your problem.
Also check "F Reset Time" in Odin and repartition using a 512 pit file. This will avoid you some common errors.

Make sure you wipe data/factory reset, clear cache and dalvik cache in recovery then flash this should work fine for you maybe even clear the cache's after flash too

Hijacking the thread to the same destination. I was throwing in the towel and about to start the exact same thread, but I'm sill stuck. After researching a bit and trying a couple of things, I seem to be making things worse, so I thought I'd bite the bullet and ask for help while I still can use Odin.
I had also tried to install stock over CM9 and ended up in a bootloop with the blue CM9 guy showing. If fact, I couldn't even shut the tab off, it would power on and re-bootloop. I could get into recovery or Odin mode. I did a factory reset, didn't help. Installing from recovery wouldn't work, as I didn't have anything left on it to install. I researched and the thread with the stock firmware says "Extract tar file from the ROM(remember to extract it till .tar or tar.md5, dont go deep).". When I use 7zip to extract the zip file, I don't have a .tar file, what am I doing wrong? If I take the unzipped file and compress them to a tar file, the installation fails. After reading this thread, I installed the GT89pitfile.pit from the toolbox, and now I'm stuck in Odin; if I try to go to recovery, the icon just flashes and won't go anywhere.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

I gave you a link in this post to a thread which contains all ODIN images. Select one image depending on your model (7300 is the 3G model whereas 7310 is the Wi-Fi only model) and then extract the .zip contents and there is your image. The PIT file, as I suggested in my guide, is to be used in conjunction with a .tar ODIN firmware image to Repartition the device in case something goes terribly awry and still, that's no guarantee it will be the ultimate solution. Redownload your desired image.
EDIT: Once you successfully flash through ODIN, in order to go back to stock you HAVE TO do a factory reset in the Stock Recovery menu. Note that you will lose everything including the SDcard contents.
My point is, when I extract the .zip file, there is no .tar file to flash.

My question is, have you downloaded the zip file from the link I gave you, and even redownloaded to make sure it wasn't a corrupted download?

WHY oh WHY

So, I have a Note 3 that I am trying to upgrade (from 4.2 maybe). Kies and Kies 3 do not recognize my phone. When I tried to Odin it, I got an error and the message, "firmware upgrade encountered an issue". I've tried reflashing, but nothing helps. I feel like an idiot that I cannot figure this out. I have read and read. I have downloaded:
N900A_OC1_Stock(100%).zip
AP_N900AUCUEOC1_CL4335446_QB4210025_REV03_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
CSC_ATT_N900AATTDNL1_CL3032228_QB3188679_REV03_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
CP_N900AUCUDNL1_CL3032228_QB3188679_REV03_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
BL_N900AUCUDNL1_CL3032228_QB3188679_REV03_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
AP_N900AUCUDNL1_CL3032228_QB3188679_REV03_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
N900AUCUEOC1_N900AATTEOC1_N900AUCUEOC1_HOME.tar.md5
So, I've tried different ways and I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. I have tried with Odin 3.09 and 3.10.6. I cannot use the zip file since I can't seem to get my phone into recovery with the error message above.
Can someone provide me with some guidance (in very simple steps)? Much appreciated.

Stupid question, it is AT&T phone. You can try to delete the .md5 at the end of the file name. Should look like this after AP_N900AUCUCNC2_722276_REV03_user_low_ship_MULTI_C ERT.tar

You try downloading the "All-in-one/Non-Wipe Tars" instead and Odin it in the AP slot? http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-att/general/100-stock-lollipop-5-0-n900aucueoc1-t3069609 You don't Odin any other files, if you use the ALL-in-One file. Odin Stuck On NAND Write Start?

I rooted my phone and wanted to flash back to stock so I can update with the OTA and re-root, but I downloaded the zip for the AT&T tar files and everything seemed to pass MD5 checks and went okay, but as soon as I hit Start, the program just continues to say NAND Write Start for over 20 minutes, and won't flash, how do I go about re-trying this without bricking my device? It's still plugged in atm in download mode.
What version of Odin are you using? I had this problem because I had v3.10 and the s6 is not compatible with that version, you have to have v3.10.6.
Mine did that, I closed odin, reopened, put each .md5 file in right section (AP in AP, BL in BL, CSC in CSC, ect) and it worked
If Odin is having trouble flashing to your phone. Here is some simply tips and tricks to try.
1. Try flashing everything except for the bootloader .
2. Try running Odin as admin.
3. Try upgrading to the newest Odin available.
4. If all else fails, open Samsung Kies, and go to emergency recovery, put your model # and serial # in, and it will flash your phone to stock for you, then you can try again.
5. Also make sure all of the correct drivers are installed for your phone, sometimes Windows can be bad about that. Try getting drivers from samsung directly.
6. Try a new USB Cable, as crazy as that is, I have had some not work, and others work fine.
7. Try a different USB Port on the PC, or restart the PC.
I hope this helps.
I tried just flashing the ROM and CSC and it flashed just fine, I left out the CP file, what is that? Everything seems fine just flashing the ROM and CSC, but do I need to flash the CP file too, for anything?
CSC is the consumer software customization and is specific to geographical region and carriers. It contains the software packages specific to that region, carrier branding and also APN settings for data connection, MMS etc for your service provider.
I hope this helps
I didnt get it. Do you mean to put each .md5 file in all sections? ? Please help me

Thanks everyone for your post. But what I did is, just downloaded the Odin v3.10.6......that worked with S6. And I guess S6 is not compatible to other earlier versions of odin. So better try with Odin v3.10.6.

Yes, I gave up but a friend of mine found a thread that talks about using Kies to bring it back to factory default. You need to know the serial # and IMEI # If you can find this information, you can reset it using Kies.
Had the same problem. Used Odin 3.10.6
But before all this, I connected phone with debugging enabled in windows and authorized it, the problem never resurfaced

N920F (N920T apparently) stuck in the bootloop. Help me out and have a beer, or two!

Hi there!
So my Note 4 died on my eyes and it was greatly missed. So I decided to buy Note 5 and got one. Old one was running Cyanogenmod for 3 years without a fail.
Did not read about releases in Europe. Apparently there is no m920F. Download mode said it is N920T.
Things I've done:
Installed TWPR (TWRP-3.0.2-1-G928T-N920T) with Odin (Heimdall used for PIT file).
Checked was it installed - reboot. Then bootloop started.
Tried to flash a couple of firmware ROMS thrugh Odin. No luck.
Used ADB to transfer firmware rom downloaded from Sammobile. Tried to flash with TWRP. Got "coulnd't find META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary in the zip file"
Things I haven't done:
No backup.
Did not check OEM unlock.
Did not spend a day reading how to do it properly.
It's been a while since my last encounter with custom roms and installing them. I spent all night trying different things, to no avail.
I appreciate the fact that this is common and quite boring issue, so I'm offering a tenner ing GBP (PayPal transfer) for whoever will make my phone work again
I tried again to flash with TWRP to check for exact error this time. But it turns out, that the file with firmware pushed previously is not there any more.
Firmware downloaded is a read-only zip file, so I can't flash it with Odin either.
Tried adb sideload and got the same error - could not find meta-inf/com/google/android/update-binary.
Any ideas, please?

Yes I can get into the download mode.
I read some posts on sammobile and the problem with unziping the zip file might be connected with slow download, resulting in corrupted file.
I'll give it a try after work.
Thanks!
Ok. Better download during night time after 11pm. Those time the internet speed is high. Day time is not good for downloading.
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Still no luck with downloading a file that is not corrupted. I managed to unzip it with winzip, but then Odin says the file is corrupted.
I've dowloaded a file from a different website, that unzips normally (previously couldnt unzip - winzip worked though), but it is not one file. There is AP, BL, CP and CSP. Firmware number corresponds with that on the sammobile.
Should I give it a go?
A corrupted file was detected. In order to continue, you must select a valid Odin File - that's what Odin says.
Can this have anything to do with Odin, well really JOdin3 being on MacOs?

Suddently bootloop.... anything recoverable? [solved]

Hi all, I have this A71 that yesterday was working just fine, and today is in bootloop for no reason at all.
The owner was as smart as to keep tons of important stuff on that phone with no backup, so I have this request: is there a way to pull anything out of there?
I can access stock recovery and fastboot.
I am really sorry to hear that you can maybe try to install twrp and recover the files with "adb pull" or accessing the phone storage via a pc (you need to have twrp installed) i don't know any other way besides this. If i helped you make sure to like my response
Solved simply flashing different version of stock ROM.
Was on Andrioid 10, flashing 11 via Odin solved the bootloop issue.

hello did you manage to keep all your data? i'm new i found the correct firmware for my phone , i have samsung odin.... do i just flash? it states that i will loose all info
Yes, everything saved.
Got the firmware from sammobile, flashed with Odin and retained everything: apps, settings, data, photos....
Just be sure to flash the HOME_CSC file and not the plain CSC, or it'll wipe all.

I flashed all the files: BL, AP, CP and CSC, the latter using the HOME_CSC file.
Once I finish downloading the firmware! I'll let you know! What happens . this is my last shot at this point I tried everything !
Thanks either way for your help!
sadly it didn't work ... the bootloop is still there....
i'm now worried about trying the normal csc and deleting everything without fixing the bootloop.... i wonder if its a mechanical issue
