[TESTER NEEDED] - CarbonRom for the I9305

Hi all.
I am a member of the Carbon Team, and we have the rom across many devices...
I have cooked up the I9305 rom by request, but I forgot who my testers were...
If any of you are feeling brave, you wanna flash this rom?
Please either reply here or PM if you're interesting in testing the CarbonRom for I9305

Could you post a link to the ROMs homepage or main thread or share some facts about the ROM?
I'd like to know a little about it before speaking up to become a beta tester, and as I didn't hear about this ROM before (coming from a not so well known HTC phone) please do at least a little advertising

Thanks husky... We dont really have a homepage yet...

Hmm, looks very interesting. Alas, I'm very busy ATM and couldn't afford to do extensive testing or have a broken device.
But once it's out I'll give it a go

Have set it up for nightlies, but they keep failing... Will need to look into it more.. I was told the test build I had had some errors in the source...
Once I get another build, I will post it out for you guys to test...

yep im ready for testing when ever you are any eta's by any chance

Im not into hard testing but ill try it in daily use if that helps... Always ready to try new roms for this wonderfull phone

When is this perfect rom coming to I9305?? I can't wait, i had it installed on my I9300 and i think it's perfect! The sooner the better!

I would be happy to test although I've not specifically beta tested any roms before. What information would you need or is it general bug finding?

We're having a bit of difficulty with the kernel at the moment, but looking to resolve it. The device is on our nightly list, but fails every night cos of the kernel..

When do you think you'll have a version ready?
I've some time today, and maybe some time on sunday :c But I guess that's all time I have this week for testing Carbon :3

Right, got the kernel to compile, if you guys can try this...
Dont know what will happen, it could be very broken...

Well, I'm at my girlfriends place atm, but I managed to try the ROM quickly.
Seems like WIFI isn't connecting properly, FC on android.process.media in Settings, some kind of FC in app drawer aswell, also FC in Gplay!
I'll send you some logcats when I come home tomorrow!

I think they're still borked... If you do try, could you please upload some log cats from boot and make the errors happen loads of time lol...

Will custom roms be available eventually?

I'm kind of a rookie when it comes to this, I've only ever put a custom rom on a phone that was 3 years old and I know this phone is only weeks since release!
But will custom roms eventually be made for this?
Can I even root my device? I can't seem to able to find a guide for it...

Unfortunately, the only way to root the SP (At this moment) it's unlocking the bootloader and flashing an auto rooting kernel. There are 2 kernels for the SP, one has CWM recovery.
I'm waiting for a PACman ROM, they are awesome

I don't have the device, would love to support it though

I'm working on preparing everything for CarbonRom
- device_sony_huashan: Device configuration files for Xperia SP
- device_sony-viskan-common: Board configuration files for Xperia SP board
I'm still in exams at university, so I don't have time to start editing the kernel sources at the moment, hopefully cm will pus their sources soon so I can start and see if I made my files good
For people that also want to build a source based rom:
These sources are not usable without edited kernel sources for Xperia SP!!

What do you guys think the chances are that the SP gets a CM10.1 release? And will it be official or unofficial?
I'm on the fence whether to get this phone or not, and this is the deciding factor for me.

It is hard to say what will/not happen as this device is new and only just been rooted if you don't open bootloader.
For true custom roms you need kernels and that needs unlocked bootloader.
Personally I don't care much for custom roms I am happy on stock but with mods that might come along...
Just wait and see what others bring when Xperia z gets 4.2.2 then the ports will start.

get the complete xperia feel. about bugs, you guys need to tell me.

Sooo this is going to be CM based or are you just thanking those guys cause they're awesome?

It's most likely ported over a cm10 base.... Which I gotta wonder how stable that will be since there isn't a decent cm 10 for ahd...

CM is official. I'm not prepared to merge in a temporary kernel though so I'm waiting for Sony 4.3 source
Nobody can really answer your questions except for Cyanogen inc as community maintainers can't do much really

So even we got cm official, that cyanogen installer will not supported our devices until cyanogen inc add our devices supported for those apps?

Will there ever be a MIUI V6 v4.4.2? I mean the kernel and the MI3 ROM is available, but not the 4.4.2 version. Is this a problem and what cons are there when flashing to this ROM?

Don't Post a Question in General section please.
The latest MIUI ROM is V5 which seems exactly 4.4.
You can download the latest version from here.http://en.miui.com/download-117.html
There are some bugs in it so flash it at your own risk.
