Hello World,
sorry if I am posting this in the wrong forum, but I couldn't find anything more specific to my Galaxy Note Tablet (P900).
I am an Android 5.x with this device (Custom CM Firmware), but my problem started only recently, after I upgraded a few hundred apps (not the firmware).
That high number of upgrades makes it troublesome for me, to nail down the culprit in this.
I use Dolphin for webbrowsing and ever since that update I noticed how websites with certain graphics in them (unsure if only affects flash), get "reloaded" randomly - blanking the whole page in the process.
In fact, nothing seems to get downloaded, but the Browser blanks the page shortly and then rebuilds it - sometimes instantly, at other times from scratch.
Often this happens every 3-5 seconds, which makes smooth reading impossible and also interrupts text edits on input pages.
At first I thought this was a Dolphin problem, but the same Dolphin version on my Smartphone (Note Edge) causes no such issues *and* Chrome, Firefox and even Opera now display the exact same behaviour on my tablet.
I already tried to reinstall everything on the tablet, with "flash" in its name, but that made no difference.
Anyone amongst you folks got some bright idea on this one?
Thx in advance for any help.

Hi.
I've had my Vario III for 2 months now, and I am not wholly satisfied with it. One of the main bug-bearers for me is that when I am texting, the phone normally takes a second or two to display the letters on screen. Because of this slowness, it sometimes struggles to pick up the odd letter, which means I have to scroll through the screen again and type again. This is frustrating, as it is now nearly impossible for me to send a quick text. I never had this problem on the original Vario.
At first I thought it might be because I have too many things loaded at once, but even when no programs are running it continues to lag.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

yes there is a slight lag. Probably more on the stock roms then for example Dutty's rom i am using its not much. The kaiser unfortunately suffers from some graphics issues which causes these things. We are all hoping that this will be fixed sometime in the near future.
I would recommend that you should try flashing one of the cooked roms and see how that works for you.
What do you mean by "flashing one of the cooked roms?"
(Sorry, I'm not very good with PDAs)

have a look at this http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser
you will learn what i am referring to.
What's weird is I have been reading these threads about slow text display for a while on several different occassions. The weird part is...I don't have this issue on my Kaiser and I do a lot of texting. At first, I wondered if it was because I was inputting slower than others...I don't think that is it as I have had a hardware keyboard on various devices for the past 3 years and my typing speed is rather quick. Granted, I am not overloaded with programs yet but have yet to notice any text display lag. Guess I should be happy about that but it's a bit curious
Anyway, in response to the original posters question, the fix on older devices with les memory, etc was to turn off all auto-help options (auto complete, etc). This helps because the device does not have to browse the DB and make sugestions while trying to keep up with you. Granted, it is not the end all be all fix but it should help until we get some updated drivers from HTC.
Hi, ever since my droid 4 received the ICS update, ive notciced many bugs which interefere with me using the droid 4, and i was wondering if there were any fixes for them
Could these have been caused because of the way i upgraded the droid 4? I was too impatient to wait for the ICS upgrade to be released in my area when they started to send it out, so i ended up downloading it from here and installing it manually. could that be the cause?
anyways, here is a list of major glitches im experiencing
-touch screen refuses to work for no reason some times at random. it works on the lock screen and on the power off screen, but no where else. only rebooting the phone solves it
-when typing in a field in the browser, when i switch to a different field using the keyboard arrows, it copies everything from the first field to the second one
-browser randomly seems to hang indefinitely when loading a web page. i know its not a web connectivity problem, because when i go force close the browser in the app manager it works fine when i open it again
-sometimes the phone just freezes up entirely for no reason at all, and a hard boot is required. usually happens when using the browser
-sometimes bad lag happens out of nowhere
-the game plants vs zombies sometimes will freeze and reboot the phone by itself

At the risk of sounding like a Verizon CSR, have you tried a factory reset after the install?
I know a lot of people that were having various issues with the ICS update reported performing a factory reset (full wipe) of there phone fixed most of the issues. I've also heard wiping the sd card can sometimes fix issues. I doubt that performing the update manually is the source of your problem (I updated the same way) but you could also try fastbooting ICS to start fresh. Just make sure you back up anything you don't want to lose (pictures, etc.). Good luck!

I doubt your impatience was the cause of the slowness. ICS for the Droid 4 is nice, but is pretty buggy and slow. I've had all of the same issues you've reported including some random reboots. I use my phone a lot, and have a lot of email addresses and a lot of programs in memory constantly doing things, so I'm not surprised that my phone gets bogged down.
I recently loaded up Hashcode's CM10 port onto the phone and I'm telling you it feels like a whole new experience! So far, it's pretty amazing for me, it's been my daily driver for almost a week and I'm just checking for some updates now to fix a minor issue (my Wireless MAC address changes in this ROM). If you're a power user like me, you should really try to load up Safestrap and give AOKP, AOSP or CM10 a whirl!
I just bought a Nexus 6, and while I like it overall I have a very annoying problem. When I load a webpage in chrome and/or chrome beta, often it will load, then I'll be scrolling and it will basically stutter before resuming. After the stutter the page will scroll fine. I'm coming from a nexus 5 which never had this problem. I'm rooted, unencrypted, stock on 5.1.1. I tried reflashing a factory image, clearing cache. and still nothing.
The only thing I found to help was when I opened page in incognito mode. I deduced this was because pages are loaded into ram when incognito, so therefore I thought maybe there were excessive io operations. But I used an app and that was not the case. Maybe the system storage is faulty/slow? Like I said, I'm unencrypted so its not the encryption. Is anyone else having this issue? Or have any suggestions? Here is the video:

You can go to a site like slickdeals.net, click one of the links and start scrolling. As you can see for me, it will stutter, then be fine. It's very annoying especially since my Nexus 5 and previous phones had no issues like this, and I don't see the reason for it so any help would be appreciated,

It's hard to say, watching the video vs happening in my own hands, but it looked to me like when you saw the stuttering, the page wasn't loaded yet.... the blue line that goes from left to right across the top of the page wasn't all the way across.

The phone behaves normally in all other usage?
Only chrome causes issues?
Try this, use your phone as per usual, but make a note of all the websites you have open in chrome next time it crashes or causes issues.
Then install Firefox and replicate the usage, same websites etc and see if you have the same issues.
If there's no issues with Firefox, then download something like antutu benchmarking app and run it. If the phone doesn't have any issues completing the benchmark then we can be confident the issue is restricted to the chrome app and not hardware related and doesn't immediately warrant sending the phone away (obviously there is more technical ways to monitor and test for hardware issues but i thought I would keep it simple)
Of course if it is easier for you to take it to a service centre that works too. Personally there are no Nokia service centers near me so I am limited to self diagnosis typically
Already done that on my own and no crash with Samsung browser in 5 days. Run many times antutu and other benchmark to stress the phone and didn't crash a single time.
Hello,
I have Redmi Note 10S with official MIUI system and all current updates. Actually since the beginning I had issues with Chrome browser which was crashing and rebooting the whole phone. I thought it was an issue with the browser itself so I tried different one. Unfortunately on Firefox it was crashing and tebooting the phone too. The only browser, which works fine is the one provided with MIUI. I tried with cache cleanup and browser data removal. But because it happens on two indepented browsers it must be something on Android (Android System WebView?) used by both browser. Can you help me?
is it for some special page?
im using chrome beta from the beginning without problems.
can you do adb logcat? it would be great to see what error do you have
No it seems to be random. It can work for days and then suddenly crash. I will try with logcat but the randomness can be a problem.
but rebooting whole phone is not possible by application crash. it is usually HW problem.
me as a developer to reboot device, i need to have root.
there is no function to reboot phone.
so maybe try some benchmark app to see if there is no hw problem
I have checked with Geekbech 5 and it works both for CPU benchmark and Compute Benchamark (OpenCL). And just to clarify because I'm not sure if reboot is a proper word. When loading some website in the browser the screen goes black and the phone is turning on like it was switched off. I would compare it to BSOD on Windows.
is there whole boot? or just immediately pin screen?
still had no issue like this
The screen goes suddenly black and then the MIUI is starting to load. It is exactly the same process as you would press longer power button and selected Reboot option. But it just happens randomly without user interaction when using Chrome or Firefox.
I tried with logcat but so far without success. The browser didn't want to crash this time.
