speakerphone echo - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this, but when I am using the speakerphone on my Moto X 2014 (XT1096), there is a really bad echo for the person I am talking to. I don't hear the echo.
This doesn't occur on bluetooth nor via talking into the phone normally.
-I don't have a case on my phone
-I have turned down the volume as low as possible and the problem persists.
-When I was running stock or the XT1095 modified ROM via XDA, I didn't have the problem.
I have tried Nexus ROM 10.3.3 and OctOS (11 June build) and the problem is on both ... I am guessing it is a CM13 issue?
Are others experiencing the same problem? Thanks.

This is a known issue for CM13. The temporary workaround is to modify the following settings in build.prop so they look like the following: ro.qc.sdk.audio.fluencetype=fluence and persist.audio.fluence.speaker=false. For more info, look for the discussion under the CM13 nightlies section.

So, please tell us if it's working properly.

I don't think it'll work. I haven't checked it, but from what I can see it's just the .ogg sound file for alerts, SMS and ringtones. Onejay09's ROM has all the oggs already, it is having other issues (I believe but I could be wrong).

Can't Connect to Camera
Hi. Thanks for this wonderful thread, since we "juniors" are not allowed to post with the "big boys"
i have just flashed the custom kitkat rom by onejay [CM11 kitkat 4.4 v9] and its wonderful...super wonderful. :good:
The problem now is that i cant use my camera. When i try to open the app, it says "Camera Error: Can't connect to camera"
I actually had this same issue when i was using CM10.1, and i have searched wide and far for a solution. so far, its only the samsung galaxies that are given preference to replies. :crying:
So, if any of the devs can solve this problem, this rom would receive an extra 10 stars, cos it deserves more than this.
Havent found anything else wrong with it, but if i do, i shall post.
Thanks a mil in advance.

usb debugging - gui enable/disable doesn't actually disable it.
running ev_passion-nightly-2014.08.17-squished.zip on nexus one
I can't get usb debugging to actually not work, using the settings in the Developer options menu.
I can modify the settings in the gui successfully, and while that determines if the notification about USB debugging occurs, it's doesn't actually stop USB debugging from working ... I can run "adb shell", and get a root shell regardless of whether the developer options are turned off at the top level, or if I turn off just the specific option of USB debugging.
Not a big problem until someone steals my phone.

i have installed the release build 2013.12.13 on my nexus one. i also tried 2014.08.17 and 2014.11.22 but always got the "call delay bug". So if i answer a call (mostly) i have to wait about 5-10 second till anybody can hear something. if i start a call, no problem.
i think this bug is known, but i don't know how to fix this. would be very nice if i could fix the only problem with this rom .

Which version have you flashed earlier? Top speaker will never be as loud as bottom one, because it's not the same hardware thing, it's just for better stereo experience.
Here is test3 for you, i made earpiece extremely loud compared to last one, so i don't add it to OP yet, just to clarify is it working for you.

Maybe the first one(the earliest) didn't boot. The latest boot up fine with no sim detection .
is dash charge working?
Nice to see OP3 as the first devices to receive official CM 14.1.
For the 2nd release... (I flushed from O2OS 3.2.7)
Battery icon will not change if I plug the cable... so the only way to know if the phone is charging is... LED
If I switch data SIMs in settings, "Phone" will fall in a FC loop...
Still a long way to go... looking forward to the first nightly build which is likely to be released on Sunday,
Is everything related to this ROM going to be discussed here or there is a thread for that in ROM development ?
Both ROMs work for me. I'm running the M build right now. The only way I can think of to fix the SIM issue is to reseat the card. CM Bug Report crashes on boot and I miss Xposed, but overall I'm happy with it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IMEI information is still on my phone.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is another bug. Busybox and AdAway don't automatically modify what it needs to modify. The quickest way I found to work around this is to go into Terminal Emulator and mount /system as rw.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Despite all of the problems, it's stable enough to be my DD.

Just to be sure, are you speaking of this experimental build from CM? Did you clean flash?
I'm asking because I had echo with other unofficial CM builds done weeks ago, so while being eager to go with CM I'm not keen to switch from OxygenOS until this specific problem will be fixed.
I have some troubles with the telephone app. It crashes every time I open it

*# *#4636# *# * Phone Information crashes running v8.1

Hi all,
I am trying to open the Phone Information settings using *# *#4636# *# * and it crashes.
First was running LineageOS 15.1 last version and I thought it was that, then I just changed to Nitrogen OS, wiping System, Data, etc. Clean install and I get same problem.
When I click over Phone Information, crashes with "com.android.phone has stopped" error message.
Is anyone else experiencing this ?
Any advice?
My main target was to enable Volte. I don´t know any other way to get those settings.
Thanks
This seems to be a problem on Oreo ROMs back-ported to N6. Camcory recently patched the AOSIP Oreo ROM and I'm guessing that patch will find its way to other ROMs.
"Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment." - Will Rogers
Just for a test, I´ve reinstalled the CM14.1 and it works as it should, I mean, I can access the settings, etc. but "Volte provisioned" is greyed out.
No idea how to enable it.
Ktmom thanks for your information. So, it´s seems is a general 8.1 issue ?? No one has noticed this before?
By the way, related to this matter, How can I access the IMS Settings?
I´ve installed original Google OTA image 7.1 to see how it behaves, and you can access the Phone Information settings, and you can enable/disable all those settings; Volte, WiFi calling, etc.
So it seems LineageOS, Nitrogen, etc they are doing something different.
Cheers

As I posted earlier, this problem was recently addressed. A patched release is in the camcory AOSIP thread. I suspect the fix will make it into future releases of other ROMs.
It is a small subset of users who access this feature. It took a long time for the problem to be reported.

I was nearly to brick my Nexus 6 yesterday. After run AquariOS image (to try Volte), something happened and didn´t recognize my pattern unlock, even after wipe system & data from TWRP, restore backup, etc.
That´s the reason I had to fastboot original OTA image. A nightmare. Now all is back in order, apparently.

Three possibilities:
- build a rom yourself with the fixes
- ask the person who builds your rom to include them
- use a rom where they are already included
