Screen not turning on after receiving messages after marshmallow update - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since my phone updated to marshmallow I have found that my screen doesn't turn on now alerting me of the message so I can glance at it quickly. Is this a marshmallow thing or have I not turned on a setting somewhere.

Placing calls after KitKat update Issue

So I just placed two calls in the last hour and both times, the screen locked and I was unable to hang up when I got to the person's voicemail because the screen wouldn't turn back on when I pulled it away from my face. I eventually got the screen on with the power button after a LONG delay. I checked dialer settings and regular settings to see if there was an option to keep the screen on when placing a call but didn't see one. I was rooted, but gave it up and went back to stock and installed the OTA 4.4 without issue. Anyone else experience this?

[Q] Stamina Mode = Buggy?

a few things i've noticed with Stamina Mode enabled, wondered if anyone else has:
1. on occasion, after tap2wake, the theme/wallpaper will not load. the background on the lock screen and home screen is black. the only remedy i've found for this is to wait: if you turn off the screen and wake it immediately, it will stay black. if i wait 20-30 seconds, it's back to normal. only happened with SM on.
2. even with Gmail whitelisted, and notifications for Gmail ON -- i still won't get notifications. mail will be waiting for me in the app, but nothing to tell me that it's arrived.
3. Hangouts. same thing: whitelisted, no notifications. i'll open the app to find a bunch of messages that i missed.
am i missing something in my set-up?
following up, in case anyone has similar issues.
after a reboot, issues 2 and 3 have been resolved -- notifications for my white listed apps started to work right away. and issue 1 hasn't occurred again (yet).
Stamina Mode has been impressive so far. it's been two nights in a row where i haven't had to charge it. have 30% juice left, will probably plug it in during my workday.

For you have not indicated the FW version you're running on now, would suggest two things over here:
1.) Update to the latest FW (e.g. x.77) since that may solve the issue. Get it from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/firmware-23-0-1-5-77-rolling-xperia-z3-t2969791
2.) Use the search function and join one of the many threads that already exist on that topic.

Wake screen when receive notifications

Hi, I've just updated to Pie yesterday and found my phone does not wake the screen when I receive notifications. It could back then in Orea. The problem exists despite having the option on in setting. I also did factory reset just now and the problem is still there. Any idea?
Here it's normal as always.
Really strange

Latest T-Mobile Update

Some of y'all have probably gotten the latest update, that includes the Dec security patch, camera improvement and more importantly that new spam-screening stuff. Well, I've gotten 5 spam calls today, after not having one for days, and when the caller hangs up (after hearing nothing but silence from me) the screen locks up. But just the call phone app/call screen.
I can hit the home button and return to my home screen just find, close and reopen the phone app just fine, but that hangup freeze is kind of annoying. Reason being because after every spam call ends you know about that "block number" option that appears right after the call ends? I can't get to it because of this bug. I tried taking a screen shot but it wouldn't let me because the screen freezes.
It's not a big deal, just a minor inconvenience but I wanted to know if any other T-Mobile user with the latest OTA has experienced the same thing.
I'm on Verizon and have a similar problem. It's a major pita. Anytime I get a call my phone freezes up. I can't unlock it for at least a few tries, once unlocked all I've got is a frozen black screen with a missed call notification and an ongoing incoming call notification at the same time. Neither can be dismissed or cleared. It does show me the options to but they don't work when pressed. Average lockup of my phone is upwards of 5 minutes. If I miss a call no matter how long ago it came in I've got the same issue unlocking and it always displays the missed call and appears that the call is either active or incoming. Basically can't use the phone as a phone. Texts work fine however.

[Android 10/ LOS 17]: When smart lock is active, screen keeps turning itself on

Yesterday, I upgraded my device to official LOS17, and most things are ok, but I see a strange behaviour with Google Smart Lock as a trust agent now. Instead of just ensuring that the screen is not being locked, it turns the screen on every time it has been turned off. I have captured this in a log but I am too dumb to understand what is going on there. Does someone have an idea?
I did a dirty flash, btw.
