Stop using A2DP, Bluetooth file transfer / ActiveSync, put a duct tape over your screen so you can only see half of the pixels, stop downloading apps and songs freely, glue the battery to the phone, and even without the OS it will feel a lot like an iPhone!

if you want a iphone OS......buy a iphone..its that simple

even 2 models of WM phones cant use each others rom
as roms are soo custom for the hardware
so even if apple had not on purpos tired their os very very very closely
to the hardware
it would not work

Android is Open Source, it's intended to be compilable for different hardware setups which is pretty much the exact opposite behind the intention of any Apple OS' so your snide comment there isn't comparing like with like.

I can clearly see that you missed the point. Funboism is the worst thing in technological discussions... there wasn't a discussion about open/closed source or whatever... the comment of going and buying an iphone was clearly not about open source... and if it was, he/she could have explained the person asking for the iphone os that iphone os is not open source and therefore cannot be ported, and not be so cynical about it... correct ? besides, android wasn't open source from the beginning as far as i know... last month became open source... and if i remember correctly, attempts to port began before becoming open source, right ?

Yes, you're quite correct, we can all see slavering zealots like Sergio PC for example who has a bloody conniption at the very idea of someone even thinking about considering the very idea of an iPhone. However no one has ever denied the existence of such people so why are you telling us about them? And what's any of it got to do with the Android OS exactly?

So I made the shell script ready for everyone. try it out and let me know how it works.
1. keep in mind you're doing this at your own risk!
2. this isn't the full program. ALL this will do is root your device! if you want the full program I'd suggest waiting!

I am on a Mac, don't know apple script but I could help out. Tired of using my wifes computer. Let me know what I can do.

any kind of Mac related Rooting, bootloader unlocking or Rom installers im sure would be a welcomed addition. Hopefully people will understand what they are doing to their phone, and that there is always a risk involved.

I'm not familiar with Apple Script either but I am a graphic designer by trade so I can help with graphics, icons; or whatever might be needed.
I'm also going to throw this idea out there just for kicks. Maybe change the name to:
Vivid Fruit Root [VFR]. Just a suggestion, I can always call it that in my head. I'm just not a fan of the iNames personally. I am a fan of this project though so let me know if you need some help.

I will start putting a few ideas together. I work continuously, and am a stay at home toddler wrangler, so I will have to piece things together in that elusive spare time, so it might take me a little bit. It should be quick and simple, but not too quick.
As far as the actual app, are you going to just save as an app from within Apple Script Editor? (I am a little familiar I guess). So maybe an .icns package might be needed as well?

I will present a few ideas, we can narrow down, refine, and go from there. I have all the software I need, and developer tools, so .icns are no problem (I change and modify mine all the time). Your more than welcome to some psd's and whatever I create though. I have a few client priorities but will start laying some things out in between projects.

I'm not a developer, but am a Mac user and would love to test this =)

This ROM is still a WIP. I have been able to flash this successfully myself but others have expressed issues with phone FC's. I am currently looking into this issue to find a solution.
Here's another port for you guys, should be functioning right out of the box as I already patched in the data fix.

Well, this is the problem. If he didn't get permission from the dev, it's against XDA rules. Plus, the dev told me personally that he was planning on bringing this ROM to the Sprint variant "soon", so I don't want us to piss him off resulting in him changing his mind.
Trust me, I love the ports because of the options they bring, but I don't want us all sitting in the dark 3 months from now because we pissed off all the devs that were planning on bringing their ROM's to us.
I realize that I'm taking a very unpopular position here, but I'm thinking long term here.

I agree, it is unpopular. .Im with mjs, No harm in making sure permission was given. It is how its done. mjs has been around long enuff to know how this works, and trust me he means no disrespect. I was wondering the same thing, theres been more than a few feathers ruffled recently.No harm in making sure

Definately didn't ask permission and i am planning on bringing the rom to all 4 carriers and prefer to have a unified thread instead of small branch off ones

Fired off a PM late last night while the upload was running it may not have made it if it didn't I apologize.
In the PM I mentioned I had planned on keeping the port updated until official support came in which case I would remove the port.
Sorry about that sbreen, my connection at home is nothing short of horrendous.

I used to have a note 4, and also really missed customizing my phone. I then sold it and bought my nexus 6 which rocks. I think all those gimmicky features on the note 4 are not really worth it.

If you want customization options, then you want a Nexus. Though xposed is limited currently, the custom ROM development is outstanding. This is one of the easiest devices to root/ROM and as long as you read and follow the guides, it is very hard to brick. Read the sticky roll up thread in the general forum and look for the beginner's guide. A great place to start.

I came from a Note 3. I never used all those touchwiz features. I don't miss a thing from the note 3.

Will the gear s lose any function with this? Gear app won't work correct?

haha well i changed my mind after just purchasing a Gear S yesterday and realizing what im losing going to a Nexus

Well if you like stock android the nexus 6 is a good switch. I came from a nexus 6 to a g flex2 to a note 4 and i like having a skin on top of android. I didn't really like the bone stock android but everyone is different. The camera is great with hdr + on but all the videos seem very fuzzy when compared to the other devices i owned.

[Q] How to skip or disable check account google on screen setup for first use ?

Hey everybody,my english is poor
Today,i have a big problem with my nexus 6,bought from ebay
Then updated to android 5.1.1 and wipe everything into bootloader
After reboot,saw locked google account on screen setup for first use, i dont know f* this google account
Now,stuck on screen setup and cant also unlock bootloader 5.1.1 or do anything else because require check " Allow OEM Unlock " in Development option :crying:
Can I help me ? or something to skip or disable google account

Not sure you can to be honest. Then again, there's plenty of people around here that should be able to correct me if I'm mistaken.
But isn't this kind of the point with Google's Device Protection? To make a stolen phone unable to be used without the correct log in credentials. Sure, this is a bought phone, but still, if it's easy to bypass the feature itself is kind of worthless when it's actually needed.

There is no way to bypass it other than putting the correct password in.
1) previous owner gives their google password
2) previous owner resets their google password, wait 72 hours then.enter it
3) Mail the phone back to previous owner and they enter password
None of the above?
4) mail it back and get a refund.

Figured as much. Too bad for the OP but still, good to know it's actually working as intended in case my own phone ever gets wings of it's own.

Not contact to ebay because im living in outsite us and very far for refund,tried to find some little bug from android 5.1 like samsung account to bypass.

So.. How did you get past it exactly then?

If its that easy to bypass this on lost or stolen device then this protection is crap seriously.
I dont own n6 tho.

I can assure you, this security is not easily bypassed. Note that the OP never responded to the query about how. The security on the N6 is no joke. Just ask the lot of people who had to RMA because of these features.

I don't think it's like the Apple icloud activation screen. Because I get this message too whenever a new update arrives. I always factory reset flash the images and everything. I get this message and then you can easily factory reset again and then it doesn't show up again..

On your device, for which, you have the password. Try it on a nexus that you don't have a password for. No factory reset will get you past the security if it has been set up properly.

Well, I do this.. Enter my normal gmail. Then factory reset just to make sure my storage is the correct size. Then it doesn't ask again.. Why is that?

Who knows. It's an anomaly as it works for everyone else. Are you 100% stock?

i did find kinda of a back door into you tube and google search and play store only play store will download only to a registered device not the n6 that im using ,but its still google locked , cant figure out what im gonna do if i cant figure this out ,goona get new motherboard
