Hi everyone,
Yesterday I clean flashed the new firmware (apg2 XAR) for tab s2 (2016).
After an hour of use the screen started to flicker, shifting colors everywhere on the screen.
After a reboot the flicker was gone but not sure if that was a "fix". If it happens again I will try to capture the screen.
Nonetheless I wanted to ask if anyone had something similar. Can that be a hardware issue? Or a software one? Maybe a graphic driver problem?
Thanks for any input.

Well if a reboot fixed it then you're good to go.
Hi folks,
i'm having trouble with my capacitive buttons when using a foil or tempered glas on mi mi5 with official Lineage OS. In the Lineage OS support thread bgcngm say the problem should be fixed since ~15/01. For me it is not. Tried all different kinds of foils. On Lineage OS IRC they said I should give logs to the maintainer so he can debug but I cant post in the Lineage OS support thread
Reply from dev regarding the buttons in los thread:
Most likely you have a Mi 5 assembled with a LGD panel. This was a known problem, originated by the fact that the kernel source code release by Xiaomi is quite old. Touchscreen driver probably got updated (firmware was for sure) in their internal releases to deal better with those touchscreen/panels combo. Although, thanks to @s3zam the firmware was recently updated and this issue should have been attenuated. Are you still experiencing it in the official builds?
Hi underko,
Yes, capacitive buttons are still not working. I'm on the latest nightly 31/1.
Same here on 06.02 nightly. I have 3/32 variant.
Same problem
02/06 didn't changed anything. Capacitive buttons are still not working at all.
In general I think they were working for a while after flashing but stopped soon. While working their sensitivity was very low in my opinion. But I'm not 100% sure.
Other roms
Other roms like Mokee and RR have the same problem (sorry for my very bad english:silly
Did anybody manage to solve this issue? I tried reporting it on LOS's bug tracker but right now, they only accept regressive bug reports.
For me its still unsolved.

Do you have a case/screen protector?
It seems that it might have to do with grounding. The issue wasn't as persistent when I removed the case.
EDIT: Flashing xiaomi.eu fixed the issue completely for me. So I suppose it is a software bug after all.
i have the same issue too, help
Guys did you try with Xceed kernel or DragonXia

yape tried these 2 kernels, but no luck, issue still persists.
actually my issue is on the recent app/menu button, the touch sensitivity seems low (although im not apply any screen protector).. pressed it 10 times, only 2 times was responded !
Mi 5 comes with either JDI or LGD display, check which one you have. LGD display faces problems of unresponsive capacitive buttons on Lineage based Roms.
I have JDI display with tempered glass and the capacitive buttons are generally responsive.
yes, i have LGD
i have the same problem with Resurrection Remix. sometimes the buttons are working but most time not.
would it be a solution to change to an aosp rom?
same problem
same problem! 14.1
The ****ty solution I found was just to use/enabled the on screen software buttons.
Hoping to get an email one day with someone saying the physical buttons finally work. Not keeping my hopes up.
mine has a LGD panel. Hardware buttons works for me. I'm on lineage OS 4/4/17 build.
I think it is part software bug and part to do with the quality of the tempered glass you install. because first I bought a cheap glass from ebay and hardware buttons stopped responding while I was on MIUI. Now I have nillikin one and hardware buttons works fine.
Hey there everyone, I got my Mi5 a couple of weeks ago. I flashed Slim7, but right now I use the latest Lineage OS as my daily driver.
Although, user experience has been great I faced a bug in both ROM which I believe is firmware related, but I don't really have a solution. I am not sure if it happened in stock, but in both custom ROMs that I used, sometimes the capacitive keys (back and recents) would stop working. This happened every 5 minutes or so and it only gets fixed if I lock and unlock the device or if I navigate to somewhere else, hence the reason I believe this is software related.
I did a bit of digging around and some people who were also affected by this concluded that might have to do with certain panels being incompatible the kernel, since Xiaomi uses both LGD and JDI panels for the Mi5.
Has anybody managed to solve this issue? A workaround would to enable on screen navigation but I would prefer not to.
Cheers!
Hi guys, i have calling troubles for long time. Sometimes with an incoming call, my mi9t pro (raphael) doesn't vibrate and the display stays off (but if i unlock the phone i can see the incoming call display notification). This usually happen when the phone is in the pocket.
Have this problem with resurrection remix but also when i was with lineage or evolution x.
I had this problem also when i was with mi9t (davinci), so i dont know if it's hardware/software or carrier related.
I tried to change call manager app with no luck
I tried to disable all battery optimisation with no luck
Vibration is enabled for incoming call, dnd mode is off.
How can i solve the problem?
Thanks in advance
Hi,
Did you notice the same behavior while on MIUI stock ROM? If yes, it most probably is a hardware related issue. If not, then it's definitely an issue with the ROM. Please note that almost all the custom ROMs for K20 pro use LOS tree which means if LOS has the bug, it will most probably be noticed on all the other ROMs.

Seems that pocket mode is causing the issue. I will do some other test to check this behaviour (including turn back to MIUI rom).
Initial ProblemThe issue arose after having been on Pulkit's LineageOS (unofficial) for weeks. One fine morning i get the following message on my lock screen: Fingerprint hardware not available. To respect the rules of the forum and since I had already gone into detail about it here and found a temporary fix for it, I refrain from reiterating the same.
TLDRThe fingerprint hardware issue came up abruptly, wasn't fixed with changing kernels. Switched to a miui 14 port for a week, everything was working fine, switched back to an aosp rom (Voltage os), runs fine for a day and on the second half of the second day, the fingerprint sensor stops working again.
Help?I've scoured through the forum in search for a solution to this but seems like it's a truly unique problem x | Has anyone encountered something like this? Were you able to solve it or was there any permanent fix to this? I really don't want to have to use miui if I can help it and after having been on aosp roms for almost a year now, I absolutely can't daily drive miui T.T
Any advise or suggestions on the matter are really welcome!
