Since it seems like there are often updates, I want to ask which recovery and zip I must use for my S5 mini. It has Android 5.1.1 installed, for more information see the screenshot.
Also I want to ask, if OTA updates, that don't upgrade to another Android version, unroot the device and if there's also a recovery & zip for the newest version (so I can upgrade before rooting)

PS: I would like to have a custom recovery like on my old S4 mini, in order to have at least one working nandroid backup, which I can restore if there are problems.
This is the thread for TWRP for G800F:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5-mini/orig-development/recovery-twrp-3-0-0-t3313775
As far as I know you cannot install OTAs with either custom recovery nor root. You can try FlashFire but I don't know if it works on S5 mini. If you try it, please share your experience.

Hello all! Hopefully, I put this thread in correct section. If not, please move it.
Anyway, here is my question.
I installed ROM Manager because I want to try some other ROMs on my SGS i9000 and when I want to flash the CWM Recovery, the only option I get is Google Nexus S. Is this normal? Should it show my model? Can there be any problems if I choose Google Nexus S option?

Thank you!
What ROM are you currently on ? if its a custom ROM you may have the Nexus Drivers, and that could be why it is only showing you that option.
there are many other ways of flashing a custom ROM so dont give up if ROM Manager starts acting up.
i personally prefer a flash with ODIN and all update Flashes through CWM
I recently upgraded from 2.2.1 to 2.3.3. Here you can see more info:
As far as i know, this is not a custom ROM, just leaked one. Or am I wrong? I upgraded it with ODIN too and it wasn't hard, I just think it would be even easier, if i didn't have to use the computer and could download ROMs directly on the phone.
Hi guys,
it is possible to put CWM or TWRP recovery on my Galaxy S3 Mini Value Edition (Model I8200)?
Probably yes, but how? I have tried (Yes I know, sorry) to flash the Recovery from the "Golden" on my phone. When I have done that, it boots up, crashes and don't enter in the recovery.
If I don't hold any buttons, it boots up (Android). But I already have messed up with the Recovery
Fixing the recovery can only be done with flashing a valid one now or putting back the Stock ROM (And I don't want stock)...
So, I have tred to make a CWM Recovery for the phone, but the files necessary to pull from the phone, I don't find on my phone (Maybe it differs from phone to phone).
I REALLY want CWM on that phone and I will try everything that you guys says to make on that phone. If you need any files, I will back right up and upload there.
Thanks in advance
EDIT: Here are some files that you guys will prbably need: (Extracted from ".tar.md5" Stock ROM)
https://www.sendspace.com/file/vnn8hi
Here a picture of the content of the Stock ROM if anyone need to know what's in...

You have an A7000-plus. This forum is for A7000-a only.
For A7000-plus, you need to go to K3 Note device forum. Your phone is basically the same as k3 but only another variant. There you will find the proper support for your device. Good luck
Thanks
Use new tool named Magisk
Hello guy!
You can try new tool, called Magisk.
It's incredible tool, made by topjohnwu.
You can find all info in this thread :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
Just use TWRP (or defaut recovery but you must rename magisk.zip to update.zip), install magisk.zip.
Then you have Magisk Manager app, open it and you had root privilege.
Hope you love new tools, and help topjohnwu a little bit easier life.
Good day, guy!
.I've been a reader here for over some couple of years. Now I decided to sign up because I cannot find any other solution with my phone. I bricked it after flashing twrp. Now it was back to life but no imei, no sounds and camera is not working. I'm trying to root it but none of the rooting applications work. I wanted to flash a twrp again and a stock rom but I the rom I'm using now doesn't show the build version. I used androidbrick tutorial. Please help! see screenshot.

Any luck? we're in the same situation
I have a Lenovo Vibe P1ma40 which runs on Android 5.1 marshmallow, and I'm trying to upgrade the OS to at least 7.1 Nougat, so I'm going to install a custom ROM
I've already done most of the prerequisites, I've rooted the phone with KingRoot, and I've unlocked the boatloader with the developer options
What is left is to install a custom recovery and then finally boot in recovery and flash the ram
I've tried TWRP, but my phone wasn't shown in the list of devices, the online tutorials I saw all require a PC to install the custom recovery, which I don't have or can't get rn
So I've come here, can anyone help with tips to install a custom recovery for Lenovo Vibe P1ma40
I don't mind any recovery service, even if its not TWRP
thanks

First download flashify on play store. Later open flashify and flash that twrp file and done.
*İmportant* : Do not click flash twrp on flashify click use a custom img or what else writing on there
(This twrp file is unoffical and I am not responsible about anything)
