hi,
my camera stopped working after flashing a 4.4.2 stock based rom.
i am on ub but without Ta backup. The camera doesnt take pictures and cant focus. it was allright before udpate.
i even downgraded to stock 4.2.2 to see if its working but no, it is not
Any help? Or as i understand i lost my cam forever?
-EDIT-!! After playing around a long time at night, it started to work again on .290 ftf
idk what it was and what it was caused by.
But it seems that sony has problems with the 4.4 update in general.
thanks anyway
Edit2 - actually it is only working on 290. O.0 strange! as i upgrade to lower or newer firmware it stopps working.
Has anybody got an idea?
Good for you, I hear someone saying that there still a possibility, without TA, to lose the cam forever.
..and yes, KK have been reported with many bugs but not with the cam actually.
Good luck.

What the hell is that. Never happened before to me so strange
Thankx

Relock BL without TA do not have sense. It will not work anyway so try to keep .290 for now and soon a fix will come, or try the new KK when it will roll out, with new fixes.

So tell me exactly what did you do to repair camera issue? I'm now on RomAur v6.3 with unlocked bootloader and camera doesn't focus or take pictures... If I understood you correctly I'll have to flash C6903_14.2.A.0.290_Stripped.ftf and than C6903_14.3.A.0.681_Stripped.ftf all without TA(only TA? maybe I'll have to check something else?) using flashtool to made it work again? or do I have to flash original firmware or what?

Well, you missunderstood the Ta thing Did you make a TA-Partition Backup BEFORE unlocking the bootloader? If yes- Just restore it & you are fine.
If not, thats what you have to do/what i did to make it work.
First of all NOT STRIPPED ftf`s becasue it is only the kernel as far as i know. You have to download the whole original rom which is about 1gb.
+Edit. Do not exclude any options in Flashtool like Ta, kernel or anything else !!!! Just choose your ftf and flash!
First flash original 290. FTF with your branding (for me it was vodafone)
The camera should work there. If yes continue.
Flash original 681. ftf with your branding if possible.
The cam should work there too. If yes continue.
Now you are good to go, put your custom rom on SD Card-
Flash custom kit kat kernel/or stock with recovery
Boot into CWM and flash your Rom. Your Cam should work.

I think that I have the exact same problem (no autofocus, no picture/video, no TA backup and unlocked bootloader).
I know that there was camera issues with unlocked bootloader that was fixed by Sony at some point (maybe the .290 ?), it can be an explanation...
If I understand correctly I need to flash .290 ftf with flashtool, then kit kat still with flashtool ?
Will I still have a rooted phone after that ?
I'm glad I finally found someone with the same problem, and someone that managed to solve it !

Skip .290 and upgrade to KK directly. To keep Root you have to follow [NUT] instructions on his thread.

Ho but I am already on Kit Kat, and like LLars_PL I have camera issues. So I was wondering if I need to downgrade to .290 then reupgrade to KK, and if I'll still have a rooted handset, with working camera (JB or KK, as long as it's rooted with the camera working...)
Thanks anyway !
Edit : just saw that in [NUT] thread :
Camera problems?
You have 3 things to try to fix it, try them one at a time:
Clear dalvik-cache only;
Clear the camera app settings;
Do a factory reset in TWRP or PhilZ (this should keep your internal storage safe);
flash the ROM package again;
boot until you can test the camera;
If it works go back to recovery to restore a backup of data.

In this case I think is better to start from scratch as the downgrade is recommended with Full Wipe. Then you should downgrade to .534, Root it and Upgrade with another Full Wipe to KK. Clean installation should fix the problem.

Downgrade to 534. Did not work for me
You dont need to root, just do it with 290.flash a original Kit kat ftf over 290.and then just Flash a Kit kat Kernel with cwm - Flash your custom Rom with root already

My wife has a completely stock (with original Sony ROM), installed the OTA to 4.4.2 and now the camera doesn't work.
Her phone is completely unmodified as it came of the box, sounds like I might have unlock it and install a custom ROM to fix what I can only assume is a bug with Sony's firmware update.
I suppose I should try contacting Sony support first, but phone/online support is usally mostly useless.
I've flashed the original 14.3.A.0.757 and now my camera is working again
Of course I lost the root (and the recovery ?!) so I need to sort this out now.
I've found that i have a weird problem with my Camera, the sound look like in mono when i listen to the sound, i've tried another app that just record sound and it's perfect, that make this only with the camera, any idea?
Hi everyone, recently , i downgraded back to 4.1.2 and flashed a custom rom. But, the drm keys i backed up was on 4.3. When i restored it the phone hard bricked and i need to flash the ftf, root , unlock bl and restore my cwm recovery backup. Anyone has a downloadable ta partition backup for this phone? Or is it only for one phone? Please help i really want back my bravia engine.

It's only for one phone, if you flash other drm keys from another sp you will hard brick your phone.
Hi,
I hope somebody is willing to help me; I couldn't find a guide covering exactly the same problem. Actually, I'm "just" looking for the right order of steps I should perform in order to restore the factory state of my Z3C. I'm currently running Cyanogen Mod 12.1 with unlocked bootloader (obviously). I would like to return to being able to use the DRM Camera functions. Afterwards I'd probably like to try another ROOTED stock-based firmware. (Thus the DRM functions should still be available again, right?)
Current setup: CM 12.1 + bootloader Unlocked + TA Backup has been performed
Aim: flash stock firmware + restore DRM functions + install (pre-rooted) stock-based firmware
What I don't understand: If I re-flash stock firmware the phone won't be rooted anymore, Custom Recovery is going to be lost, right? Is it right to T H E N restore the TA backup? (As the bootloader will be automatically relocked?) Or do I need to perform additional steps or the above mentioned in another order?!?!?
And: Can I then simply flash a stock-based ROM without losing the DRM functions again?
Thanks in advance!

You simply can not restore back to factory state of your phone unless you have backed up your DRM keys. I'm thinking that you haven't so...
Anyways, you can use a pre-rooted stock ROM and you will have stock state of the Z3C and also root. To do this, you simply download any of the many alternatives in xda. I, myself, recommend you to use Wajk's SlimROM. It has good features, good debloat and awesome battery life. You'll be on stock ROM and have root but you won't be able to use DRM functions. If you want the DRM functions so badly there's a way to spoof it. You can visit here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-...ocked-update-conceptmm-root-recovery-t3291722 and follow the instructions. It will give you the concept version of Marshmallow, root and DRM functions!
The thing is you have lost your DRM functions by unlocking your bootloader. So flashing any other Stock ROM will not bring it back as it has something to do with the system of the phone. If you are OK with a Stock ROM without DRM functions, there are plenty Stock Pre-Rooted Firmwares on xda. You can download one, do a factory reset, and wipe dalvik/cache, then flash the Stock ROM.zip through your recovery. Have the best of luck!
EDIT: I don't know about the TA backup as I have never used it :/

Thanks for your effort! But you misunderstood me, I have a working backup of my "former" TA partition/DRM keys. All I was wondering about was WHEN exactly I should perform the restore process. But I found out anyway. For whoever should have the same question:
- revert back to the firmware you used when performing the ta/drm backup
- if necessary: root (as the ta-backup tool needs root permissions)
- restore drm key backup with the ta-backup tool
- do whatever ... I installed a pre-rooted stock based fw and it works with DRM keys and root/recovery

HI
Restoring TA backup Will NOT relock your Bootloader but it will simply restore the DRM keys that you backed up while unlocking Bootloader
So you will restore the DRM keys
flash stock Firmware
flash TWRP via fastboot and the you will be able to root with chainfire auto root flashable zip
or just download a prerooted stock firmware and flash it
