OK here is my problem,
I got a brand new Xiaomi Mi5 64GB and the first thing that I did was to connect it with Mi PC Suite to check for updates.
It found an update and started to update until it failed, after that the device couldn't normal boot or recovery boot (Vol+ and POWER went to a black screen with "mi logo" same as normal boot).
View attachment 3788573
I can only boot on fastboot mode, but can't do anything in the fastboot as BL is locked.
Official BL unlocking method can't work as device isn't linked to any Mi Account and MiFlashUnlock can't verify my device.

Read OP again please.
1. I CAN'T boot into recovery.
2. I CAN'T boot EDL.
3. I CAN boot just into Fastboot, but Bootloader is Locked.
4. I CAN'T unlock BL via official methode as there is no linked Mi Account on Device.
I think that i need a hardware way to unlock BL.
Have you tried this method to see if it works?

You CAN boot into recovery, don't be silly. Have you read the instructions?
Hold volume up and power button and a MI logo should came up, that's the recovery.

Recovery was a black screen with a white phone, not "mi".
Phone is not detectable anyway if i normally or vol+ boot.
Im not a noob i know what recovery is, so i need answers with the facts that i mention before, no recovery, no edl, unlockable bl.
Im gonna send it to repair shop anyway but still my situation is a big problem that xiaomi should look into it. I get bricked via official update tool, and i cant unlock bl cause xiaomi's unlocking tool stupidly requires linked mi account on device to verify.
When you boot into fastboot and update in mipc suite, it doesn't work ?
I don't understand why official tool need unlock bootloader, it's insane from Xiaomi

Mi PC Suite doesn't recognize device in fastboot mode, it returns a screen to connect in normal mode first.
Only MiFlash can see the device in fastboot but it needs unlocked BL to flash the Official fastboot ROMs. Madness!
Aarff just, you're right
Just speculation but maybe can you reboot in recovery with adb commands ? (adb reboot recovery)
Or maybe download twrp, run shell from where it is saved and run
Code:
fastboot boot twrp.img[
?

Oh yes sorry, it's a phone, my bad.
Then the recovery works fine for you, just the PC doesn't recognise it, which is driver or windows problem, not your phone.
SpinoRex: Fastboot doesn't work because of the locked bootloader. Only option is the official recovery with chinese mi pc suite.
check this post : en.miui. com/thread-299790-1-1.html
You need Engineering Flash Cable
They are in the same situation ... solved?
Mi suite in chinese
You may try to use MI SUITE in Chinese. I was in your exact situation trying to remove a fake rom from my MI5, but with this I solved all the issues.
Just one advice: don't use a pre-loaded ROM, let the program to download it from the internet.
you can boot your device into edl mode with a special fastboot
just type "fastboot reboot" to go to the Edl mode and flash rom with miFlash

Hello,
i have bought a new Xiaomi Mi A2 and thought it would be a really nice idea to flash magisk on it. First everything was alright. I unlocked my bootloader in fastboot with "fastboot oem unlock" and flashed twrp on the b partition. Unfortunately my device broke (don't know why... maybe the unofficial twrp with some bugs or...). So now i have a really big problem, because my twrp recovery is missing as well as the stock recovery. When i try to switch on the mobile i am stuck in bootloop (with the mi logo). Not even the bootloader warning is shown.
Fastboot mode is working but not really nice. Not even the mitu appears, no the display is black (or doesn't show anything.. The device's display is on).
My Mi A2 is recognized by the computer so I considered to flash the stock rom with fastboot.
I thought it would work, but in the mi flash programm i got the erorr: flash devcfg_a error.
Now i can't switch my mobile off, because when I'm holding the power button, it restarts and restarts and restarts...
I know i am stupid and maybe have done something wrong, but i would be soooo happy to get some help
Thank you so much!
Fastboot flashing unlock_critical
(It will wipe /data)
then flash with mi flash
But before doing that, try just flashing stock boot
Fastboot flash boot_a boot.img
Or boot_b if that's your active slot

After doing something dumb (I typed some wrong commands I think) my A2 got into the infinite reboot, never got out of the android logo, I tried everything and literally thought I lost my phone for good ;n;
I downloaded "jasmine_global_images_V10.0.2.0.PDIMIFJ_20181206.0000.00_9.0_02b8deeb6d.tar" and flashed that on miflash and watched my phone come back from the dead like frankestein or something. Hello, i tried to install official ROM(V12.5.4.0.RKAMIXM_20210611.0000.00_11.0_global) on Mi 11 Ultra through MiFlash 2020.3.14.0 by using clean all and lock, because i wanted the phone to be in the locked state for some bank programs. But the ROM wasn't installed and the device is locked now. The problem is then i try to use miflash_unlock-en-5.5.224.24 i am getting this error message - you are unlocking a special device which should do with special permissions.
Does anyone has any idea how to bypass it ?
something seems wrong in what you say. if device is locked with the wrong ROM then you are doomed.
you are going back to MI version from what version?
Someone on a different thread shared this tool that requires JAVA to run it. I used it before and it was way better than MI flash tool. you can use it to unlock, lock, download latest rom, flash, update, etc.

have you tried to hard restart phone? hold power botton and volume down until screen goes off then released both, will it boot back to fastboot or will boot normally?
seems like the only issue you've got is just a phone restart, (hopefully)

both same, I used JAVA over JDK.
before you proceed with the tool above, try to hold power button and volume button for 12-14 sec's multiple times. sometimes it works from 2nd or 3rd or 4th try.
The problem is you cannot flash a different version of Rom and lock the bootloader. It will not boot. You should try to flash the original Rom and see can it boot! If it boot then unlock the bootloader again to flash the Global version and don't lock it!

Like I said before if the flash other version rom to your phone, you cannot lock the bootloader. If you do so, it will not boot. If you need to use the bank app then you have to use the original rom!

i have same problem and can't unlock bootloader of my mi11 ultra with Chinese version.showing same error ( special permission ) ! i've opened topic for this issue 2 weeks ago but i'm still waiting to someone help me !
Maybe the whole story is you have to go to fastboot, open MI unlock tool, login with any account that was approved to unlock a device before trying to unlock, and then try to unlock the device.
Anyone tried this way? I mean using the account of another mi11ultra device on the bricked one. Maybe this is what the guys on telegram do?
Ok, so basically i would suggest everyone just find a guy through telegram and let him unbrick it. They do that with the token verification by using Xiaomi auth tool. It is not that easy to get this tool. So i would suggest just to pay for the fix.
I have bricked Mi 11 Ultra 12/512 CN version. Cant enter Recovery, also it has locked bootloader.
What amazes me, I paid for EDL flash, it didn't work. Phone just bootloops 10 times and gets in fastboot again.
Also, i tried shorting pins method to enter EDL, in unofficial service store, that didnt help too.
My phone has a different problem.
Does anyone know how to fix my phone, would motherboard replacement help? (Its hard to find them too).
Official Xiaomi service in EU cant fix my phone because of Chinese IMEI, they dont have support for it.
Selling phone for parts doesnt work too, because no one wants to sink money into new expensive phone.

Can you explain what exactly you've done?
from what you said I understand that you've flashed a different rom and locked boot loader. and now it is stuck in bootloop and fastboot. is that correct?
as long as you can go to fastboot. have you tried to unlock bootloader again your official unlock tool? happened with me and it worked, once unlocked bootloop stopped and device ran into system straight away. as simple as that. and yes, with non official rom installed and locked bootloader.
if you can explain to us a bit more from the beginning that would be more helpful.

Hi.
Bought this phone 4 months ago and it went into a boot loop, where it would only show the battery empty icon. Yesterday, I tried turning it on again and noticed, that it's stuck at the Redmi - Powered by Android" screen. From this screen, I can enter fastboot. See this video:
VID_20230417_194410.mp4
drive.google.com
I've read that there are a couple of options for reflashing this device:
- aks someone with the authorized Xiaomi account to reflash stock rom using the MiFlash tool (no bootloader unlock needed)
- put the device somehow into ETL mode and reflash stock rom using the MiFlash tool (no bootloader unlock needed)
I've tried contacting someone, who for #1, but they aren't willing to help, for some reason (I'm wiling to pay). For #2, I'd have to open up the device, which I'd like to avoid doing.
Would anybody know of any other options for fixing this?
Thank you in advance!
okay, which version of MIUI are you running?
first get the fastboot rom of the version your phone supports , i recommend the global version fastboot rom , because it works and its stable and u get your updates
download this fastboot rom first
Temporary file download page
miuirom.org
and I will give you the MI flash tool working version at like 6 hours after, Ill post the remaining steps after you download this , btw, you will get a .tgz file , when u download the Rom, thats the one you need

If you can boot into fastboot, then it is already enough.
Now, I suppose your bootloader is still locked
You need to download a MIUI ROM from "EEA", from any trusted website, and remember to download the "Fastboot" ROM to flash it (my favorite is mifirm.net, it downloads faster)
Install MiFlashPro - attached at the end of the thread
Open it up, and you will be greeted with this.
Click on the "Mi Flash" tab, as it is the only one we need.

You will be greeted with this window now:
After you have done downloading your ROM, extract it to any place.
If MiFlash does not recognise the directory you have extracted in, move it to C:\. Not any external drive, your main one
Now click on the "select" button box, go to your ROM directory, and simply select its folder
Boot your device into fastboot (PWR + VOL-), click on "refresh" button box and your device serial number should appear on the first line.
Now simply click "flash" and let it do its job for 10 to 15 minutes. It will reboot automatically.
If you dont succeed, please read this thread:
Thread '[GUIDE] UNBRICK YOUR HARD-BRICKED MTK' https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-unbrick-your-hard-bricked-mtk.4564029/
You will require BROM and to bypass and to flash via SP Tool.

For #2, I'd have to open up the device, which I'd like to avoid doing.

You have either got confused, or being scammed
Newer MTK devices do not require the opening of the device. I suppose you have been probably confused with a Qualcomm Snapdragon based service, that does require the opening, so you can access EDL mode and flash your phone into life, or someone just put up the Redmi Note 10 5G and is a scam, also, on MTK, you do not need to pay for a authorized Mi account. On MTK, it is easily bypassable due to BROM
Thank you both.
I put ran MiFlashPro, pointed it towards the downloaded eea stock rom file and attempted to flash it, but got this error message:
So I presume this is due to locked bootloader? I'll try to follow the second link.
I actually managed to enter recovery mode and do a factory reset. Currently setting it up and plan on updating it.

Good to hear you got sorted. I basically bricked my phone last week (only 3 weeks old ) after trying to switch from MIUI 13 Global to EEA. I managed to get it into BROM mode and used MTK Auth Bypass which allowed me to use Chimera Tools to flash the phone again as nothing else seems to work with a locked bootloader. Currently running MIUI 14 with root and magisk optimisations (blur/high end tweaks, MIUI monet etc) and loving it! Just need a way to bypass Play Integrity API for Google Wallet
Hi!
I got this new Pixel 7 2 weeks ago, yesterday the battery went completly discharged and now the phone starts into Fastboot mode, with the Enter Reason being boot failure. Recovery mode and rescue mode both fail to load, and just send me back to the Fastboot Mode. I alredy tried a bunch of stuff to fix it, but the phone its still OEM lock so flashing via the Google flash tool its imposible, does anyone has any idea of what can i do to save it?
Did you try this too?

yes, Rescue Mode fails to load, so it gives me Unable to connect the Phone
There's fastboot mode and fastbootD I guess. You can enter fastbootD from fastboot. Maybe I confuse stuff tho, since lately I got a lot of chaos in my head. DYOR.
Have you tried Pixel Flasher?

It failed, it gives me "Bootloader is locked, can't flash." and trying to unluck the bootloader with the fastboot commands gives me FAILED (remote: 'flashing unlock is not allowed')
And get into fastbootd and sideload a full OTA somehow?
https://developers.google.com/android/ota?hl=en
Or is adb disabled?

adb its disabled and entering recovery mode also fails, the phone its pretty much new, so i didn't have time do much with it.
I've seen this before where people's phones have "died" when letting the battery run out. I haven't seen any successful methods to recover (not to say there isn't).
Since you're bootloader is locked and you don't have OEM Unlocking enabled you won't be able to flash anything via fastboot. If OEM Unlocking were enabled you would be able to use Android Flash Tool as that will unlock your bootloader during the process as long as you have OEM Unlocking enabled.
Maybe try to see if Pixel Flasher can get you into recovery mode to see if you can sideload an OTA, although given the circumstances I'm doubtful it will. By the way, you don't need USB Debugging enabled to sideload an OTA. Being in sideload mode enables a very limited set of ADB commands on Pixels, including adb sideload <imagename>.zip.
Good luck...

Even trying to get into recovery mode with Pixel Flasher fails.. looks like my only option its asking for warranty and i wanted to avoid that.
Have you tried issuing the command fastboot getvar all to see what slot you're on and what the status of your slots are? Maybe switching slots could get you a boot.

Unfortunately their bootloader is locked so they won't be able to switch slots via fastboot commands. Even if they were able to switch slots they would then have to flash the OS to that slot before being able to boot into that slot since you can only boot into the slot where the OS was last flashed in this circumstance.
I can't get over the fact that you can't just flash an official image on a locked bootloader. I used to be a Moto fan and that was always the good thing about them, as long as it was officially signed, locked or not you could flash the same or updated firmware. Plus if it was qualcomm, when you bricked it would go into edl mode and you could blankflash your way back.
Yet a Google device, who also develops android, you're up a creek unless you unlock your bootloader.
