Just curious if I can still get the system updates through my phone with root and locked bootloader?
you dont have to be on locked bootloader to get OTA but you have to be unrooted whithout system changes
I'd say stock recovery as well. What about xposed though? Does xposed make changes to the system?

Ok, cool. I came from AL00 and changed it to a L09 firmware and unrooted and relocked bootloader, was curious because i'm still on B136 and cant connect to Huawei ID due to some location setting prompt.

not in the UK with Vodafone its not. that'd be version B123
and the latest reported shown version is actually B160
I used systemless way of rooting and also with xposed (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-systemless-xposed-t3388268)
As long as system is not broken, OTA will work.

How can I tell if system is broken?
There is a warning when you do OTA saying don't root your phone.
My guess there would be a sumcheck for the system mount

Install Android Pay and check if it works. If system files are broken, AP will not work as android SafetyNet fails on root. This simple check may help.

Question & Answer
"Root de la Vega" What kind of name is that?
It's named after Ralph de la Vega, CEO of AT&T Mobility.
Can you help me with the drivers?
No, but you can head over here for help with drivers.
How do I get into download mode?
Method 1: adb reboot download
Method 2: Pull the battery out, unplug the usb cable, reinsert the battery. Hold Volume Down + Home + Power. Follow the instructions on the screen.
How was this root method accomplished?
By hex editing the system image to call a script on the sdcard as root.
Will rooting or downgrading or flashing stock trip the Knox flags?
No, KNOX flags will not be tripped!
Will root survive a factory reset?
Yes, it does.
Do I need have to fully wipe my phone when rooting?
Yes. If you don't you will get lots of nasty force closes. I have yet to find a way around it.
Does Xposed Framework work on a rooted Note 3?
Yes, it has been updated to work fully with the Note 3.
Will rooting report system as custom and display an unlocked lock on the initial boot screen?
Yes. It can be removed by installing Xposed Framework with Wanam Xposed and enabling Security hacks > Fake system status.
Titanium Backup is giving me problems, how can I fix it?
Check out this thread. If you are still having issues, please take your concerns to the dev, they are not related to rooting.
How do I open a 7z file?
With 7zip!
Can I do this on OS X/Linux?
No, not until heimdall is updated to support the Note 3.
Can I unroot?
Yes, use SuperSU full unroot option or flash stock.
How do I flash stock?
Check out this thread.
I am getting a "Prevention Information" popup after running a root app, how do I disable it?
From terminal emulator or adb shell as root, run; pm disable com.sec.knox.seandroid
Or freeze the Knox apps with Titanium Backup.
Downloading now. Thanks for all your hard work
Thanks for the efforts

As Sam said, you're going to have to either do a full wipe and Odin back to stock or wait and update through flashing fire. Also root may not work after the update so you may want to hold off if you want to keep it, unless you're cool with being a guinnie pig [emoji4]
Good luck with root also if this is 5.1.1 update you know they probably patched the exploit.
Pull the downloaded file and upload a link so everyone has it please.
How is this being pushed out by AT&T? No release news or info from them yet from what I've been able to determine. Would be great if you could grab the files and share so DEV's could pull it apart for us.
What software version are you on now? I doubt that it's 5.1.1.

I believe the OTA files are stored on /Cache section in the phone. You will need root access and something like File Explorer to access /Cache partition. You should be able to copy and move it to SD card so you can plug in a USB and download to a computer, then to dropbox or fileshare.
I dont know if it told you the file name, but you are looking for the 235.96MB file in that folder.

It's currently the only method to root stock rom and kernel. And leaving /system read only and untouched seems to be marshmallow's flavor if you will.

few possiblilities:
1. You haven't received the rollout for the new safetynet api
2. Your payment wasn't checked with safetynet this time.
3. You lucky booger.
I was going to say, they may not have "updated" android pay yet. I wonder if you don't update how that will work. Tbh, the systemless root does seem pretty moot at this point unless you love OTAs.
It is gonna get to the point that people will have to pick either root/custom roms or using things like android pay. Not a big deal personally as all mobile payments are blocked in every store here
Hello,
I just received the AL10 version and I was curious what can I do for this model number? I am not finding much information in the forums about it.
Mostly, I am just curious if I can install any ROMs on this model and or the Nougat Beta?
Thanks, in advance!
I tried Nougat Beta for L09 on my EVA-AL10 and bricked my phone. I used a factory rom and lost important partitions.
I'd advice against it. Maybe you should wait for them to official launch Nougat for AL10.
But you should just keep a full backup of all the partitions. TWRP backup isn't enough.
Also, if you have a rooted EVA-AL10 phone, please help a brother out: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/help/help-rooted-p9-t3534742

At the moment there is only one solution. Downgrade the firmware version first to EMUI 10, then to EMUI 9.1, install the call recording application, update to the latest EMUI 10 firmware and disable the "Software Update" application there. Then wait and hope that for EMUI 10.1 they will be able to make a call recording version that will be easily installed on android 10. Although personally I do not see the point in this. Because android 11 is on the horizon.

Before installing, you must uninstall the old version of call recorder. (names: "recorder" or "call recording") you need to delete from here: settings - applications - applications.
Caution. Do not accidentally delete the built-in voice recorder. The call recording will have an icon with a green robot (more precisely, with its head)
